  1. Ok. I will tell you the facts. He was close to this student as he is and has been with many other students over the last 15 years or so that he has been teaching. This particular student had perfect attendance this year in his class. When she did not show he knew it was uncharacteristic and he was worried. Kind of like I would be if one of my daughters was not where she said she would be at a certain time. He sent the messages to check on her. When she did not respond he sent more messages. He was very concerned and even asked some of her friends if they knew why she wasn't there. She finally showed up to his class in tears because her mom had seen the messages and had taken them the wrong way. He realizes that he went a little too far in caring for this student. He also knows that this student cared about him like a father. He was punished by a letter of reprimand which outlined certain restrictions he must follow. Case closed right? Not in Cheatham County. The newspapers kept the pot hot and printed things to put pressure on people in charge. So after following his guidelines to the letter, the director of schools felt the heat and asked him to resign or he would be removed. He did not resign because as he called it, this was double jeopardy. Those are the facts and thats all there was to it. The school board, police and DCS investigated the matter and found no case, but someone has the power in Cheatham County to bully the director. She punished him as she saw fit, but after politics and the media kept the "story" alive she relented to the pressure. She said that because he had previous reprimands in his file from Montgomery County, which were known about when he was hired, that she was letting him go. These reprimands were the first 2 he ever had over a 12 year career. Just so happens that it was a first year principal who gave him these reprimands. He had even asked to be transferred when he knew who the principal would be, but the jerk denied the transfer so he could make his life miserable. This principal just happens to be the same guy who applied for the head wrestling job at Kenwood when Johnny got it. Talk about getting revenge. Anyway, ask any kid that he was involved with at Sycamore and they will tell you he did nothing wrong. They will tell you that he was like a father to the student involved. Poor judgement maybe, but nothing to be released over. By the way, I called him and asked if I could type all of this, so dont think that Im just on here telling all of his business. He was an outsider with a huge heart in a small town with nothing to write about. And by the way, Mr Texas, I have two teenage daughters and he treats them as if they were his own kids and they love him like he was another father. This might make some people jealous, especially those not doing a great job with thier kids, but not me because I know him and I know his heart.
  2. I have known Johnny Masters for over 20 years. I knew him in High School. I knew him when he coached at Northeast and at Kenwood. If you don't personally know him then you probably don't like him to much. He is a serious competitor. That makes him come across as being someone you love to hate. But I can tell you that if you know him personally you know that thier is not a better friend in the world. He loves every kid that he teaches and coaches. I have seen him turn around kids who were headed for distruction and make winners out of them. I know that he has a deep care for all of his students and athletes. I know that when they are done with high school that he makes sure they are taken care of if they want to go to college. I know that his old wrestlers call him all the time for advice and to thank him for what he did in thier lives. I am an avid wrestling fan with no ties to any school, but I love to watch kids turn around thier lives because of coaches. This man has done this many times. I have talked with him about the incidents that have occurred over the past few weeks and when you know the whole story you know that Cheatham County has lost one of the best coaches and educators that they could ever hope to have, for no reason. Yes he may have made some mistakes but who hasn't? We all make them, they just don't get splashed all over the news with only one side of the story being told. I have talked to him this weekened and I can tell you that he is crushed. I can also tell you that all of his students and athletes are crushed. They know what they have lost. All I am asking you is that you not judge this man until you know all of the facts. Anyone can convince you that someone is bad if you only hear one side of the story. He has told me that he has a lawyer and he will fight this to the end. He has a great passion for what he does and will fight for what is right. Believe what you want but just remember, it could be you getting blasted by people who dont know the whole story.
  3. Isn't posting the above scripture kind of like tooting your own horn, which is exactly what the verse tells one not to do. Just an observation.
  4. I heard they lost to some team named Harpeth. So much for running that mouth about winning the region.
  5. Who looked good for Kenwood and Clarksville?
  6. Who looked on top of thier game? Were there any big matches? Was it a good tournament?
  7. HEY TELLING YOU RIGHT NOW MY BOY JAMAL SHELTON (SNAKE) WILL TAKE THIS TOURNAMENT AND BEAT ANYONE IN HIS WEIGHT CLASS AND NOONE AND I MEAN NOONE WILL STOP MY BOY SO SIT ON THAT SO I DONT KNOW WHY ANYONE BOTHERS WRESTLING HIM HE JUST GOGIN TO WIN HE BE UNSTOPABLE HOLLA BACK YOUNGING RDL
  8. The Rgion 7 Duals will be at Kenwood on Saturday, January 31. Weigh ins will be at 2pm. Wrestling will begin at 3pm. Kenwood will wrestle Sycamore and Clarksville will wrestle Mt. Juliet. The 2 winners will wrestle for the Region Duals Title. I am posting this for KKW.
  9. I believe that Clarksville wrestles at Kenwood this Thursday. Are there any predictions. Also, I heard rumors that C. Baker and Jordan Terry are back in the line-up at Kenwood. Can anyone attest to this? I also heard that Vandal and Block of Clarksville are no longer wrestling. Is this true?
  10. NE did not look like much at all. What is an "alumnist?"
  11. Hey, I have an opinion on this - First, let me say that I think it would be one heck of a match to match up the "state champs" of Div I and II. That would definitely worth seeing. Anyway, here goes my picks (assuming everyone is at the weight class mentioned): 103 - Whit Dunning 112 - Jimmy Hiller 119 - Shawn Cordell 125 - toss-up really, but I will go William Simpson 130 - Cody Cleveland 135 - Jordan Leen 140 - Hmmm, not sure on this one but let's say Jesse Baker 145 - Bond Davis 152 - Max Gessler 160 - Quinn Gibson 171 - Not really impressed with either of these but will pick Kyle Adams 189 - Michael Marable 215 - Matt Bailey - although I ain't convinced 275 - Bashara Robinson - but I ain't convinced on this one either. Well, those are my picks. Who are yours? JustWrestle...What continent have you been on? Have you even seen these guys wrestle? Your picks at 125, 135, 145 and 152 are like you have never even seen a match before. Kyle would kill Simpson, Lane would beat Leen, though it would be closer, Bond Davis has no chance against Manley, and Gessler would feel like he had been raped and left for dead after wrestling Scott. Your picks are really lacking.

    103

If Bird was the Northwest kid that I saw get punished by some kid from Kenwood at Montgomery Central's takedown tournament this weekend then he will be nowhere near the state finals. As for 103, if the Kenwood kid is at that weight he will be a force. He was unstoppable. Does anyone out there know his name. I definitely think he will be a force in Chattanooga in February. He looked untouchable against a pretty good Northwest wrestler.
  13. Sly, I said I may be wrong about Jones (215). I did not say that I was wrong. I am doing some checking. I just suggest that some research be done before the rankings are done. If I am going to spend time reading them I would at least like to know that they are all still in high school. If we are going to include graduates then we need to start a new thread.
  14. Ok. I may be wrong about Jones, but I thought he was a senior last year.
  15. Who is Messimer (103) Rhea Co? Must be a freshman. Who is Lively (112) Greenback? I knew they had a Lively at 125, but not 112. Maybe another Freshman? Who is Wells (119) Dobb Ben? Do you mean McMackin? What weight was Zeits from Seymore last year. I do not believe he was at state at 125, but you have him ranked there. Who is O'Niel (125) from D. Ben. Was he at state? Another freshman??? Are you ranking last year's seniors. I hope not. Perry (145) Clarksville was a senior as was Jones (215) Clarksville. I also believe that Northington (145) Springfield was a senior. Also, how do you have Evins (145) Montgomery Central in there? Did he even go to state last year? It helps to do research before you do rankings! These are not all of the things that I found to be troubling about your rankings, but I am tired of typing!
