    3A Playoffs

I don't know how will win state with the playoffs not even begun. However there is no way Crocket County makes it that far. Don't overlook Lexington in the playoffs. I don't see LHS going to state, but they will be a force in the postseason.
  2. Camden will win against Adamsville, but it will be a close game. Camden is much improved from years past. Adamsville is on a bit of a winning streak however. The Adamsville team is better than thought to be and will keep it close. I say 34-28. This game has all the makings of a shot out.
  3. I have never heard of this being a rule. Last friday night at a game in west TN players had bands on their arms. The refs never said a word.

    USJ

I know where Franklin Payne went to school, but what about Gregg Faye? If anyone can remember he was a stud in 2002 although Payne got all the pub. . Faye was a juggernaut of a RB at 210 lbs. If anyone has any ideas let me know.

  6. I say USJ will be the team to beat in class 1A this year. Year in and year out the produce top notch teams. USJ will be one of the front runners all year long.
  7. Melrose in Memphis throws the ball a lot. They open up the offense like the NFL. Melrose wins many games based simply on their offensive style.
  8. I say you can not totally count out Maryville because of their past sucess. I think they will be very good again, but I say look to region 8-4A. What about Melrose or Memphis East. Year in and year out both programs are very good. Don't be surprised to see one of them in Boro.

    Collinwood

I know Collinwood lost a lot of talent, but I would not count them out. Why you might ask, because they have good coaching and hard working players. Don't count out a team that works that hard ever.
  10. Who would you say had the best defense of all time????????
  11. Fayette Academy runs the option. At least I know they did on Hardin County this past year. Their QB blew up for like six rushing touchdowns.
  12. I talked to Burdine last night. He is getting ready to go to Italy or Ireland this summer to play ball.
  13. I talked to him two days ago in Savannah. He is at NC State as a red shirt. The ACC does not allow red shirts to dress in the ACC tournament. So he went on spring break. He will be dressed out for the NCAA tournament starting March 20.
  14. I know it is the 21st century but some people still read. What is the greatest football book of all time? I will say Friday Night Lights.
  15. The best football movies are; Brian's Song,Rudy, and the Program. Although Varsity Blues is pretty realistic.
  16. Maryville is not overated just look at the numbers 4 out of 5 state titles. That is incredible, that a program has done that. Many schools have never won state titles or even region titles. If you have wondered why Maryville is so good it is simple they are a family. Just think if you make a post talking trash about Maryville look at the response. Maryville wins because from players and coaches to parents they all stick together. So my hat is off to Maryville's football program.
  17. I have never been to Maryville. I would love to go and see this big event. So I will say Melrose in Memphis is the hardest place to win. Somethimg about being in Orange Mound that scares you. All the fans are nuts and very loud.
  18. Alabama has always been a team that is mentioned when it comes to violations. Just think of this what did Joe Namath major in at Bama? Namath majored in basket weaving that sound pretty dirty to me. As for Tennessee it was a bad year, but they never stay down for long. Bama fans can throw the game in our face, but they have never been accused of having class.
  19. I say watch out for Hardin County Fullback Micheal Butler. Butler is a big kid 6'2 around 220. He was the tigers starting tailback a year ago but look to hear his named called a lot next year in Savannah.
  20. O.k. everyone is talking about great players well what about a father son duo. I have one from Hardin County, Chris Qualls and his son Brian. Chris was a punishing Linebacker in the seventies and played at Vandy. Chris held the single season record for tackles until his son broke it his sr. year. Brian is now at the University of North Alabama(UNA). [Edited by stokke on 2-13-03 12:04P]
  21. I think maryville is one of the finest programs in the state of Tennessee. I also think if they were in 5A they would dominate, but they could not beat De LaSalle. It is hard to imagine them being that good. Yes the Maryville program has been the best in the state over the past 7 or 8 years. De Lasalle has not lost in even longer. No team in America could have beat that team last year.
  22. I know Jason Witten is a great athlete, but he should stay in school. Witten is not ready for the pros he still needs to improve on his blocking. Also Witten needs to get his college degree. Jason might be an extremely good athlete, but lets face you can not play football forever. Anyway good luck to him at the next level.
  23. Thank you for the information. I greatly appreciate it.
  24. What is Franklin Payne doing now? The WR/RB from USJ, that last played in 2001. I heard he went to Illinois, but that was the last I have heard. If you have any information please write and tell me.
  25. Hardin County has a very strong senior for the upcoming season. Micheal Butler who weighs about 220 and was the starting tailback last season. With the teams struggles Butler will now lead charges from his fullback position. Butler is also a very sound linebacker.
