I think he is taking off because the team is not going to be very good and he does not want that attached to him. Getting another job will be easier with his success now and not trying to get another job with little success . Some coaches can't handle not winning . Coaches forget teams win because of players and not so much coaching. He is not the only coach that has done this in the past.

Pay raise? So different metro schools pay different? Lower classifications means most all season the competition is weaker for the most part. I am just saying it is easier to get the state championship at a lower classification. Why is it that the numbers of players at metro schools does not relate to the size of the school? Why are the size of the teams and talent at the smaller schools greater ?

When are interviews and will metro stay the course?

I never said metro does not have a few good coaches. It is obvious that the schools that have done well have had some of the best talent. Could they win at the schools where talent has not been as good? Broome is leaving because the talent is down and up at Antioch. You mentioned 5 schools that have done well, and 4 of the schools that did well did at a low classification. I do not Alexander , I just hope the next coach at Overton stay and develop a program and not leave because of talent. I have great respect for public school coaches in metro and Tennessee that coach for the kids and just not the wins. I do express my thoughts and do not intend to do anything other than encourage other comments.

Chasing the talent. Antioch has a very good QB, maybe as good as anyone. Started as a 9th grader. Without him Antioch would have been winless. Talent alone is winning most games in Metro.

It is shame the quality of coaches in metro with a couple of exceptions. It is sad the number of assistants also in the building. Looks like most head coaches have their buddies helping who can't even be there everyday. Friday night sidelines are full of coaches.

New metro ? There was nothing wrong with the old metro.

I agree. But I also agree that Overton will come out on top when coaches are named.

Hopefully someone who can coach and will make a commitment to Overton. Hope Overton will get it right this time and learn from past hires. Not an easy job now.

That was the point being made. Most jobs are decided on who fits the best for the school. Fit is more than just football .

Good enough to get a head coaching job at a bigger school but not good enough to be head coach at DCA. Jobs most often go to who is making hire feels comfortable with in that school and not often most qualified or even the best. Happens all the time.
