Wartburg will win, and will win pretty handily 34-6. Wartburg should of beat Monterey and got beat by a good Harriman team by 7, then played a good Rockwood team 14-0. Every game they have been in except Oneida.

Wartburg had nine turnovers in last weeks ball game and was still in it. Everyone knows if you turn the ball over 4 times you aren’t supposed to win the game… But they was still in it.. Midway is good football team and is always physical! If wartburg can hold the ball I say they will keep it close.. LOOK FOR A HARD HITTING GAME HERE

All i can say is thank god! This sounds so much better than Knox cath and some of them lol. This will be an even ball game. York is a very tough team but the bulldogs have scrimmaged tougher this year and have faired well. If the dogs can move the ball which they will with travis hamby they will win 14 6

I remember when Sunbright went 10-0 (because) they didn??™t play Wartburg, so Wartburg was on the schedule the next year and all we heard was how bad Sunbright was going to beat Wartburg??¦ the game ended something like 40-14 Wartburg? The following year we beat them something like 41-0 and all the way up to my junior year and it was some thing like 38-7? Anytime these two teams don??™t play Sunbright seems to forget that they haven??™t beat Wartburg in like 20 years? But this is a complete different Wartburg team.. I say it will be a VERY close game but Wartburg will edge it out because they are used to playing with the likes of Alcoa ???multiple state champs??? Rockwood ???state champs??? Knox catholic ???state champs??? Sweetwater ???multiple state champs??? Loudon ???Multiple state champs???! That??™s a big difference from Sunbrights schedule.. I remember my senior year Knox Catholic sent a RB to Carson Newman whose starting at safety a OL to Wake Forest whose starting right guard a WR to UTC a FB to North Carolina. Alcoa sent a RB to Tennessee a TE to Florida State whose starting at WR at tennessee a OL to Austin Peay and a FB to Tennessee Two Qbs one to UTC and one to starting Kentucky a WR to Kentucky a DB to West Virginia. Loudon sent a RB to Tennessee a OL to Carson Newman. That??™s just a few off the top of my head??¦. Biggg biggg difference in what these two team play.. or in the fact any team in morgan county

Wartburg needs to at least get around 30 players to complete a full season.. Even playing with this new schedule playing with 15 players wont work. But the 15 that they have are battle proven and hard as steel. There is no excuse for a school with 400 kids to only have 15 kids playing football. I played for Wartburg from 2002 to 06 and we had around 45 to 60 kids every year. I think with this new schedule in a few years Wartburg will get back to where they were and maybe better. Coach shoe is not only a good coach he is also for the kids, he will do a good job in preparing kids for the future.

I heard that 1-A Oneida done an excellent job moving the ball on LA. I think this year Oneida will go deep in the playoffs if they can get by Midway and Always powerful Coalfield.

You do realize that the kids do get on here and read and sometime believe everything they read on these threads. Who won the Wartburg Sunbright Scrimmage?

Wartburg will be better, slowly but surly.. Just give coach shoe sometime to build it.. He has the most work ethic iv seen, and would do anything for anyone of the kids, he is a terrific father, teacher and coach... a true asset for Morgan county and should be considered again for best Morgan county teacher of the year. Coach shoe is what you call a model person. I have nothing to say about coach shoe that’s negative except, the hill! LOL thanks for everything you have taught and still teaching us in life

I watched the slaughter of Scott Vs. Gap scrimmage and I think Scott is lacking in the speed department. Scott was way head of Gapp in all deparments except maybe Linebacker. But the running back For Scott looked tremendous, and one WR can’t really remember too much about him other than the fact he can fly. They had a few linemen who looked pretty good, and one linebacker. I think if they can get a few more WR’s up to par and a few back up linemen they will have a good season. Good luck to Scott High

And no Cy, I was talking about, could you imagine if some of the great coach’s that Morgan county has had in the past coached together on the same team. Kingston had that in the early 80’s with ex head coaches with sim porter, jess plemons, & Papaw, and all three had successful coaching careers. Kingston has the most tradition of a lot of schools in east Tennessee.. State champs, state runner ups, undefeated numerous years, ranked nationally numerous years. Rockwood as well, State Champs and so on… oliver springs went to state im pretty sure. Morgan county as much as I love it, hasn’t had near the success as Roane county in sports. And Midway will continue to go up in 1-a ranks they are already right up there with coalfield.

Coach K is defiantly a legend in East Tn, Not only a great coach but a great guy. You wouldn’t think little ol Morgan County has been blessed with some fantastic coaches like it has. Boy what I wouldn’t give to have all those guys coaching the same team lol… Could you imagine? It would be like Kingston back in the late 70’s and 80’s

I just can’t really see how it would destroy communities? I agree with the cost of travel. But I really do think it would be better for the kids to have a larger school system, not only in sports but education. IV talked with Various Teachers around the community and most of them agree on one or two high schools would be better for the kids and for the education. More opportunities was the big statement that was used while talking with them about the kids. More exposure to bigger and better things was also something that caught my eye, relating to colleges and jobs other than what we have in East Tennessee. I really do think it would help Morgan County children in continuing there higher education. But I could be wrong, thats just how I feel about it.
