? OK, like I said, I'm convinced that one team from here is making strides to catch up with the rest of Tennessee. I lost all hope and faith in the game of football this weekend. Yet several Memphis area teams(Ridgeway,Melrose,Whitehaven) gave White Station a better game than Maryville. You must have been positively electrocuted.

Last year Alcoa lost to Maryville, Maryville Lost to Hillsboro, Hillsboro lost to MBA. Since 2001 every 5A/6A champion that has scheduled a Div II AA team has lost. The best football in Tennessee is played in Div II AA. You are saying that over the past two years Alcoa hasn't received inquiries from any Div II AA school. I find that hard to believe, especially considering the amount of miles racked up traveling out of state for prestige opponents.

I saw MUS last night...seriously NOT impressed! The White Station team that just ran past Maryville lost by 3 touchdowns to MUS, and that was without Barry Brunetti.

White Station has quite a few 2-way players..I'm sure they are getting tired.

Yes they did running behind an O-line that was HUGE! Them boys looked like they should have been at Oklahoma running it. Young men also had beards that were better than mine at the time! Man for man that was the largest O-line I have ever seen outside of Texas in high school. We had some beef that year, and so did 97' Munford team that Riverdale beat in finals. The largest high school line I've ever seen belongs to this years Olive Branch team with 3 players over 6'6" and 300+ lbs.

I typed that because after Arlington lost in the first round of the playoffs, Bmack wrote at length about the weakness of west Tennessee football, implying that it was the root cause of Arlingtons early playoff exit. I actually like Arlington and hope more teams in the Shelby metro area mimic their adoption of the spread offense.

Seems like west Tennessee was able to get it done after all. I guess Arlington won't have to move regions, just schedule better. Congrats White Station.

South Panola wins 36 - 21 in a game with the most penalties I have ever seen..300+ plus yards combined I'm sure. I doubt USAtoday will be able to keep the Owls out of the rankings now.

If South Panola beats Madison Central tomorrow I think MUS will make the USA Today rankings the next week.
