  6. looks like BGA is headed to Chattanooga next week.....go wildcats! (once again, wife posting, husband is still coaching
  7. looking forward to it. Have a great holiday season!
  8. I would love for her to come out just to see what it is about. Shoot me an email for a good time. Like I said, she turns eight Dec. 20 of this year and has been playing rec for 3 years, most of which at first. She is big for her age (tall as her 10 year old brother) I just think she needs more competition. If it doesn;t work out for you full time, maybe she could fill in on an as needed basis. I know that happens alot with my sons travel team (they only carry 10) flemingellen@bellsouth.net
  9. possibly, although I would like for her to play with her rec team as well I just don't think she is getting enough out of it. What kind of schedule are you looking at for the spring?
  10. Looking for an 8U team for my daughter in addition to her rec season in the spring. We are in Spring Hill but would consider any part of williamson, rutherford, maury that area. DOB 12/20/2002. Has played 1st 3 seasons and tends to bat 4th thru 6th. email: flemingellen@bellsouth.net
  11. Halftime..BGA 17 BA 14, no that is not a typo this is the wife, husband is coaching
  12. Only for those whose coaches choose to play 80 games in a spring/summer. This is our first year playing travel ball (with a max of about 35-40 games) after being unhappy with the rec ball experience last year and I have seen my son grow more in 3 games than an entire spring and then summer of all stars. Travel ball is not for everyone, but so far I am incredibly pleased. As it is with whatever sport one chooses for you child, it is the coaching and the parents who will influence their experience. Keep it positive, keep it fun and remember it is for the kids, not the parents. No matter what.
  13. check out www.middletennesseeusssa.com and look under team ranking. It is a baseball site, but the team ranking tab has an option to look up fastpitch teams as well.
  14. Thanks for the info. I just keep seeing kids out there with huge gloves and I am not sure the reasoning behind it. Oh, as for the times, I can not find any info on the web as to average sprint times in little league and just wanted to know how he stood compared to some other kids his age. Random thoughts really.
  15. Thanks for the advice. He plays for a team out of Franklin, TN. I know that we are looking for some double headers as well, what is your info and I will pass it on to my head coach.
  16. I have an 8 year old who will participating with a travel team for the first time this fall and spring. Athletic kid, easy to teach. Question: He has played infield and outfield regularly and has batted between 2nd and 7th. What size glove and/or bat should he need? He is about 4 ft 2 inches tall and has paced around 3.75 seconds from home to first and about 14 seconds from home to home. Any advice would be great.
  17. you are right...fall ball is a lot less intense and he still gets to hang out with his friends that he made this summer. I'm happy to let him pursue something he loves...but he does still have at least 10 more years of baseball in him and I want him to love it thru high school and maybe even beyond..
  18. Thanks for the advice, its kinda what I was thinking. The all stars this summer for coach pitch was a lot of traveling, so it gave me an idea about what travel ball would be like. I grew up in the little league program and loved it and so far that is what we are going to stick with....
  19. Are there any 8U travel teams in the Spring Hill area? My son is playing for Little League all star right now and would love to find something a little more competitive for him..any suggestions?
  20. Koban is the heart of the team, without the running game there are no thousand yard seasons for fisher.
