This crew has had better nights for sure, they have called several of our games lately and did just fine. It happens. Girls are continuing to improve. We are doing much better against team who are much much taller than us. Just need to continue to cut down on the unforced turnovers.

2 great games! A big test passed for our guys. Both teams are getting better with every game. Love to see a big crowd on Friday.

You would be correct. Powell is much better than their record. However, their lack of depth is hurting them. They looked really tired at the end of the game. I thought we played a great second half and finished out the game well. Fun team to watch, everyone should come out and see them!

I've touched on it. I'll get specific: 1) They miss Clark a lot right now. Semaj was good for 15 pts/game and no one has filled that gap. 2) Not have the other Porter is hurting. Hopefully we'll see her soon and her knee will heal well. 3) This group is not good at shooting outside and teams have figured it out. We are seeing a lot of zone and have not handled it well. We could stand to be more patient in our offense and put ourselves in the position for better shots. 4) We have had a lot out sick pretty much the whole season, which has messed with the team being able to practice together. I still think we will be ok, but will take our lumps early. The schedule before and during Christmas is brutal.

They are playing the defense to keep themselves in games. Just need to do a better job of taking care of the basketball and finding more consistent scoring. Alcoa is a huge test.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if Powell pulls this one off. I saw the best performance by a high school quarterback since I moved to Tennessee last Friday. He was unreal. If he can throw into those tight of windows against West, they will win. Of course, West is bringing the memory of last year's meltdown and will be motivated. Should be a fun one to watch.

For the girls, it was wasted opportunities. We had waaayy too many unforced turnovers and 1 on 5 ball going on. York was just as gassed in the 3rd, but found a way to dig deeper. We should be fine, but we need to play team basketball on offense and find a way to score more consistently. York is a quality team that has a lot of mental toughness. BTW, their #1 is also a sophomore. CAK on Monday will be another big test for the girls.

The boys roll, 94-52. Like the writeup said, we played the whole bench significant minutes. Honestly, I like the upside of this team even better than last year's team. They are better defensively and are much faster. A fun bunch to watch.

Dropped a tough one to York tonight 55-47. We pretty much imploded while Reese Beaty (remember that name), a sophomore with quite a few D-1 offers, took over the game. We have some things to figure out as the season gets going, namely, who is going to take over the scoring load from Clark. York had a great comeback as they were down 11 midway through the 3rd quarter. We can be very good, but have to find a way to score more consistently.

Btw, York, for both girls and boys, is a tough first opponent.

I really hope we can take the momentum from tonight's game and bring it back to the 'Ship. Tonight is the best we have looked in a couple of years. I like how Garza has grown as a starter, he had a lot of poise and confidence tonight. Rhea will be the exact opposite of Campbell County and we will need to shift gears defensively. I like our chances though.

I predicted last year that we would double Clinton's score and I was wrong. Clinton is steadily improving, but first 2 opponents, like last year, were barely a test. I think this will be a closer game with some of our play makers out. OR 20 - Clinton 14.
