Even though Maryville hasn't been near as good the last 2 seasons as we like. One thing is those kids work their tails off. A bunch of those kids are benching more than 300lbs,Squatting more than 500lbs and Clean and Jerking close to 300lbs. Brandon Waters is one of the best.

I thought STARS did a great job of getting Brody Smith. But! The garbage service at Baylor and McCallie must be superior. Baylor has already got UT commit Joakim Dodson and now they are getting Alcoa standout Kolby Barrett. McCallie got 3 transfers this past weekend. 2 of them are big Defensive Linemen.

Jesse Smithy reported that Alcoa standout Kolby Barrett is transferring to Baylor.

The biggest surprise to me is I thought Lee Smith would have his kids be Powell Panthers like him and his dad were.

Brody Smith will help Maryville in Basketball. He will be going to a loaded Basketball team.

STARS doing his job. LOL. This will be a great addition. Maryville was already going to be really good on the Oline. Maryville will be huge on the Oline. Alex Boyd is 6,4 285lbs, Henry Chambers is 6,6 290lbs,Upccoming sophomore Will Delong is 6,4 300lbs. STARS needs to get some receivers like AJ Davis.

Independence beat Maryville worse than Fulton,Alcoa and Cookeville beat them. Indy was a darn good team.

Congratulations to Alcoa. Jahvon Carter is a great player. Douglas had no one who could guard him. Other players for Alcoa stepped up. I think Rick Barnes should have offered Jahvon Carter.

Maryville wins 88-57 over Morristown West. Maryville and Alcoa boys are both State Bound. Heritage Girls are State Bound. All 3 teams representing Blount County. Don't know how far Maryville will go in the State Tournament. I do know this. If there is a better sophomore backcourt than Maryville's I want to see them. Braden Hazelbaker scored 29 and Jonathon Woodley scored 17. The Sophomore class is loaded.

It was Heritage. Heritage has always had good girls basketball there.

He lit AE for 44 last night.

Shane Cherry and Javon Carter are special. Both score over 40 last night. The 3 headed monster from Fulton is really good. A very underated player is Caden Windle. Next year Jonathon Woodley and Braden Hazelbaker will challeng for best players.

Maryville wins again 55-48 over Bearden. Maryville hosts MoWest for a chance to go to State Tournament. Great season for Maryville. What excites me is they start 3 sophomores. Those Sophomores are really good.

Maryville beats William Blount 54-52. Big win for Maryville.

If Fulton doesn't win state it would be a miracle. Fulton beat all the local AAAA powerhouse teams this year. Oak Ridge,Bearden,Maryville and William Blount. They also beat AE,Alcoa and GP.

Hope he can talk Cam Sparks into going to Tennessee.

Maryville High School in 2007 won the 3A State Title. 30-7 Best players were Aaron Douglas and Jordan Damron Crazy thing is in the regional final at Powell. Powell beat Maryville by 20. Maryville won a close game vs Science Hill on the road at Sub State. At the State Tournament Maryville beat Bradly in overtime,Beat Whites Creek in a close game and won over Clarksville in overtime. Wasn;t that dominant team like the Dane Bradshaw led White Station team or those loaded Memphis East team coached by Penny Hardaway.

I think STARS is offering free garbage service to the basketball team now. LOL

Sylvester Gray was on those mid 80s teams. Former UT player Lang Wiseman was on the 89 team. The late 70's team had a guy that played at Ole Miss. Can't remember his name.
