  1. Actually Sleep23 Cascade is picked to win that region down there that includes Moore County and Collinwood. Far better teams than the AFC (Amish Football Conference) or Region 4-2A that include York and Westmoreland. I wish Gordonsville could move up to that region so we could play weaker competition. I know Cannon County, Westmoreland, and York are state contenders every year. Top to Bottom, Our region is much better. Trousdale County, Gordonsville, and Friendship Christian compared to Carthage, Westmoreland, and York. Think about it. I do know one thing that Carthage has that Gordonsville will never have. That is a 0-10 season. I know how we are so bad and you guys are so great but that is one thing we'll never have. Speaking of never having, I believe Carthage will never win a State Championship. I believe that the last time that I checked Gordonsville has won one of those as well. But you people can continue to live in your fantasy world and believe Carthage is a football power. You guys are not. Just because you have a coach for every player and Lord Maynard takes two or three straight from Smith County jail to play for him on friday nights doesn't make it that way. Believe or not, You are still just the home to Al Gore and the ugliest bluffs in Middle Tennessee. All I got to say is take a good look at that the scoreboard at the end of the game with Gordonsville just winnning by two or three touchdowns, and then take a good look at that BRAND NEW (not renovated like Carthage's) School, and just think. How unlucky you were to go to Carthage and how blessed we are to go to Gordonsville or South Smith High School.
  2. Antwan didn't Carthage just beat Gordonsville 24-8 last year. Wasn't that the year Carthage made it to the semi-finals in MIGHTY 3-A. Thats pretty bad. A semi-Finalist in 3-A beats the third place team in region 4-1A by 16 points. Not a huge difference is it. Not the huge difference that Carthage people try to play it as. Gordonsville will hand Carthage a loss this year. Is Gordonsville that much better? I'd say yes they are. They have around sixty kids on the team that are ready to play some football. They aren't preparing in the blazing heat for Knox Catholic. Their minds are set on Carthage. A Carthage team that lost alot from last year whether their fans want to accept it or not. They return a couple of recievers from a dominant running team, a couple of offensive lineman, and a tight end on offense. That is not impressive. Nor the fact that they have one coach for every player on the team. With all of the negatives looking at Carthage and the positives looking at Gordonsville, it is hard not to see a victory for the Tigers. I'm just glad you guys are coming down to 1A to get some good competition like Gordonsville and Trousdale County. We know you won't get it in Region 4-2A aka AFC (Amish Football Conference). I know now that all Carthage people will try to rip me in half and that is ok. Most people dont like to hear the truth especially people from Carthage. But while you guys are focused on Knox Catholic, Gordonsville is focused on Carthage and no other. And when you guys cross that river and see our Beautiful Brand New (not renovated) school and then see the Tigers in Blue and White hand Carthage their first or second loss of the season, I don't want to see any tears. I know it will be hard to take. A butt kicking and the knowing that consolidation will never happen. Thats ok. Good luck against Knox Catholic because the next week you will definitely need it. Go Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Im predicting Gordonsville. Any other thoughts.
  4. No the people eating shrooms are the people that cheer for a State University that doesn't even represent its own state. UT does a horrible job recruiting the state. I have a very good memory of the Peach Bowl against Maryland a couple of years ago. Maryland had like 20 of the 22 starters from the state of Maryland. From Maryland out of all places. There high school football does not compare to ours. That is not a talent rich state by no means. But those Maryland boys beat the living crap out of "National Power" UT from the kick-off until the final whistle. It always amazes me how Maryland can recruit Maryland and win but Tennessee can't recruit Tennessee and win. I'm not not saying every player. I'm saying well over 50% of the roster should be from Tennessee excluding walk-ons. That is fact. Ut is a state university and they should act like it. Not just UT but MTSU as well. Vandy is a private University but what better way to gain support than to recruit the good local talent that UT leaves for everyone to get like Jeff Jennings, Theo Horrocks, Lamar Divens, and Cassen Jackson. All that I'm saying is I am tired of seeing Ole Miss, Alabama, and Auburn getting great players from the state of Tennessee. UT here is a News Flash. You are a Tennessee state University. You are not a National Power or its own nation. You are a Tennessee state university. How about you recruit like it. 30 scholarship players from Tennessee does not cut it. Memphis represents the state not Ut-Knoxville. Go Tigers!!!!
  5. bhsOL, Yeah while you and others have been smiling, UT has been turning its nose to many good athletes in the state of Tennessee. Don't give me that Tennessee High School Football (Which this Board is all about) does not produce enough athletes. Last year the state of Tennessee produced more D-1 signees than Kentucky, Arkansas, Mississippi, and South Carolina and with a handful short of Alabama. That excuse doesn't work. The fact is that Tennessee does not recruit the state in which it should and means that they are far from representing this state. No kid from California is representing me and this state. It doesn't work like that. So UT isn't slapping me in the face, They are slapping Tennessee High School Football which this board is dedicated to. If you are alright with that, Then so be it. But I'll tell you one thing, I not o.k. with it and no one should. If there is a school that represents Tennessee then it is Memphis. Look at their recruiting the past two years. Go Tigers!!
  6. Two HUGE Smiles here last year as well as Jeff Jennings crossed that line twice. I just can't see how someone can cheer for a state university that does not recruit its own state. It makes me sick to look at other SEC teams roster filled with players from their own state and then to look at UT's roster. It is sickening. That is nothing but a slap to High school football in the state of Tennessee. That is all that it is. I really hope Cassen Jackson-Garrison and Jeff Jennings beat UT before they leave. 38-33 last year.
  7. Seems everyone is counting out Gordonsville. They had some bad luck before and during the season last year but look prime to make a statement even with Trousdale County back in the region. Gordonsville will be within 21 points of Trousdale County. With Justin Smith at QB, a offensive line that looks as if it will shape into one of the common good Gordonsville offensive lines, A good WR duo of Sircy and Devorre, and the defense led by Justin Jackson and Lee Holmes. This looks as a team that could easily go 8-2 to 10-0. Just because Trousdale county comes from 3-A means nothing. I have seen so many teams from 1-A that could easily beat 3-A teams. I have heard Trousdale County will have a good team this season. I can believe it, but to say they will run away with it because they are from 3-A is not a good argument for why they will win region. The other school that could possibly make some noise is Watertown. They have some good talent. Friendship is in a rebuilding mode with the loss of Sweeney and Wheeler, and will rely on their runningback Rickaway to carry the load. Monterey coming off a second place finish last year could make things from spots 3-5 very interesting. Clay County could possibly make the play-offs. Mt. Juliet Christian looks to beat Red Boiling Springs who looks to be in last place again this year. Maybe RBS will get a young coach some day that pulls them out of the cellar. I hope so. I see the Gordonsville vs. Trousdale County game as the possible Region Championship but anything can happen. I am very glad to see Trousdale County back in the region. It's just like old times.
  8. I haven't heard anything from him or where he is headed. Does anyone know???

Adam Smotherson OL/DL Smyrna Committed to Vanderbilt Lee Smith TE Powell Committed to Tennessee Jacques McClendon OL Baylor Committed to Tennessee Brandon Jackson LB Briarcrest Committed to Ole Miss Dustin Lindsey RB Alcoa Committed to Tennessee Who are the other prospects being recruited. Who are the top ones and who has a good shot at a D-1 scholarship.
  10. Signing Day isn't until February. Lee Sweeney of Friendship Christian has been offered by Uconn and Troy. He is to visit Hawaii and Kentucky later.

  12. Why not? This could add to the atmosphere of a semi-final game and could possibly take away some Home Field advantage to a team. This could easily be done. When a Basketball Team makes it to the quarterfinals they get to play at Murfreesboro, Why can't football players have the same luxory? Let kids get a taste of the big-time. Well you might say Where do we play them then? Easy, we have many college football stadiums in the State Why not use them? Tennessee Tech UT-Martin UT-Chattanooga UT-Knoxville Tennessee State Vanderbilt Memphis Maryville Austin Peay State Carson-Newman Tusculum University of the South Bethel College is building a brand new facility Possibly the Mini-Dome All places that could possibly host a game. Would the college want them to? Why wouldn't they? Most are done or one game away from being done. I don't beleive it would cause a problem. Just one night. Couldn't be that hard. This would add to the atmosphere of the semi-finals. This would make kids want to make it to the Semi's that much more. Just a thought that I have been thinking about. Why don't we give it a shot?
  13. Vanderbilt University. The massive Offensive Lineman recently picked Vandy this weekend after Vandy's loss to Florida. Vandy has hit East Tennessee pretty hard the past two years. He is the third to pick Vandy the past two years with Jeff Jennings of Jefferson County and Cassen Jackson of Knox Central already there at Vandy. They would love to see Garret Reynolds of Carter, Zane Bruhin of Powell, and Albert Harris of Austin-East join him as well. Congratulations Eric Hensley.
  14. Lets not forget R.C. Smith of Gallatin. A BIG offensive line prospect. I have seen him listed as one of the top 20 prospects in the state of Tennessee. He comes from a good program and I think has shot at a possible D-1 offer. L.T. Williams of Lincoln County is great OL prospect as well. Heard he is being looked at by Vandy. With Lamar Divens and Theo Horrocks there this would probably be a good fit. I know Vandy is currently pursuing his teammate Josh Gregory as well. I don't beleive Vandy has offered either as of date. Thomas Welch the former QB and current TE at Brentwood is being recruited as well. Recently took a visit to Vanderbilt at the Mississippi State game. Tall body at 6'7 and good build has caught the eye of many recruiters. Any updates on any prospects such as Albert Harris, Zane Bruhin, or Bernard Wilson Jr.
