  1. From a proud program to an also ran ?? Is that what we are witnessing ?? I have followed Wildcat football for ages (And still support the program !!) but after 4 games i see the team getting worse each and every week. This I know for a fact, the players, the parents, and the fans have lost faith in the coaching staff. All you had to do was be there at the games and listen to know that. Head Coach David Staff is a good man, and is not an idiot, but at the same time how does he get that faith back ? Or is it time for somebody else to step in and lead this program ? Folks we still have 6 games to play, and where do we go from here ???? Whatever you think of the coaching, or lack there of, dont give up on these kids. They have never given up in any game, they played hard to the last whistle. Give the kids a chance and your support for the rest of this season and then we can talk about what needs to be done with the coaching situation. Go Wildcats !!
  2. As a Sweetwater Wildcat I will say this. I love to play Polk County, the fans are great, the kids play hard and it is always a great game. Coach Davis is not only a really good coach he is a good man. I know this guy and he never sends anyone out to hurt another player he has way too much class for that kind of thing. And being from sweetwater I know Mike Martin will have his team ready to play. should be a good one.
  3. I know the Bears really took one on the chin at GP last friday... just how close to you think this one will be ???
  4. from my understanding yes, sequoyah will be in 4a when it comes playoff time. the tssaa has classified sequoyah as 4a. sweetwater megs polk central are all 3 a when it comes to the playoffs. it is very hard to understand how it will all work out but that is the way it will be. and i also want to add something here. i hope and pray that all of the mess that is taking place there at sequoyah can be worked out before the season starts. i am from sweetwater and believe me i bleed blue and gold, but i want to see a strong program at your school. a program that will keep the county riverly going strong into the future. i know you guys were really slaped in the face by the director of schools, if that is what they call him, i worked under him here in sweetwater for two years and it took me about two days to figure him out... its all about him. so i am not shocked at what he did. but please dont let one man bring down a program that you all worked so hard to build. pease give the new coach a chance. and to all the kids ... show this man (mike lowery) he can not beat you , he might have you down, but show him you are not out !!!! play football.. play hard.. and smile every game because that means you are a better man than he !!! I know i am pulling for all the kids up there, it hurts what was done to you, but please dont give up, play the game you love with passion. God bless all of you at sequoyah !!!!
  5. I hope Rockwood watched the Wartburg film.... I still dont know what happend up there. Sweetwater should be ready for this one, this game is huge !! More than likely for third place in the region. Rockwood is always tough, well coached and ready to play. The difference in this one is the defense. Sweetwater 20 Rockwood 14
  6. I think OS has supprised alot of folks this season so far but we here in sweetwater know that coach johnson always has a tough team. I really thought they would be hard pressed to find some offense, but they are doing really well. Good luck guys .. look foward to our game oct. 7
  7. Walker Valley has played the tougher teams.. no doubt about that one.. but I have seen both teams and I think Sweetwater takes this one.. Sweetwater 26 Walker Valley 14
  8. Defense is what wins this one... Sweetwater 20 Loudon 14
  9. what was your question about sweetwater radio ?????

    Westmoreland

westmoreland hardly ever has any size, but they have alot of heart and that means something. I am from sweetwater and we played those guys in the 90's and they were small then too but let me tell ya they played as hard as any team I have ever seen. Good luck to westmoreland this season !!
  11. we are really going to miss you here in monroe county tank. thanks for all you wrote and for supporting the kids here in the county. want you to know that you are always welcome in the broadcast booth at sweetwater games. take care !!
  12. I was at the Sweetwater / Catholic game and I cant tell ya the score because both teams scored so many times I lost count. But I can tell you that Sweetwater did score the last 6 touchdowns. Sweetwater should be able to score loads of points this season, but can we stop the other team ?? if so, it should be a great year in wildcat country. I heard that Sequoyah lost 16-13 to Rockwood. I do hope all Monroe County teams have a great year.

    1. Alcoa 2. Sweetwater 3. Oliver Springs 4. Rockwood 5. Wartburg 6. Harriman
  14. While I will agree with some of your statements.. were you watching the game at all ??? That play you talked about us running about 30 times... well it worked !! We gained about 6 yards every time we ran it. The fact that we had 7 turnovers is what happened in this game. I will agree that Moore should have been in there on defense... but all in all... turnovers were the difference. In the fourth quarter with 11:54 left we had the ball only down 20-13.. then it was 6 stright turnovers.. I am not the biggest Rhodes fan in this town... but he didnt fumble one time that I saw. God Bless all of you that wear blue !!!! I love the wildcats !!!
