  1. I hope this is true as Coach Keith Hodge would definitely be a good coach for the McKenzie Rebels.
  2. I would be interested to know about Milan. 3 coaches in 6 years with winning records. McKenzie Will hopefully hire a proven winner as a coach and he will have a loaded team.
  3. Congratulations South Pittsburg. Pulling for my McKenzie Rebels but it wasn’t in the cards for us this year. Great season Rebels, proud of this team.
  4. Two good football programs playing for the 1A gold ball. McKenzie is once again the underdog in this game with South Pittsburg the favorite. Hopefully it will be an injury free game with sportsmanship from both teams and fans. GO REBELS!!!
  5. This was a great game played by two good teams. Referees wanted too much attention and should have let the young men play. Great season Moore County. I am sure McKenzie will once again be the underdog next week against Dresden.

Teams have gone through spring workouts, 7-on-7 scrimmages, heat acclimation practices, scrimmages and jamborees to be ready to start the season. Before it all begins, here is the first West Tennessee high school football ranking, which includes every school outside of Shelby County. 1. Riverside (12-3) – The Panthers reached the Class 2A state championship game last year before losing to Tyner Academy. Up next: Home vs. Collierville. 2. Huntingdon (11-3) – The Mustangs reached the Class 2A state semifinals, falling to Riverside. Up next: At McKenzie. 3. Henry County (11-3) – The Patriots played in the Class 5A semifinals, losing to Page. Up next: At Brighton. 4. Covington (11-3) – The Chargers played in the Class 3A semifinals, falling to East Nashville. Up next: At Munford. 5.
