  1. Temple plays at Boyd tomorrow night. My personal opinion is that if Boyd can keep Jake Skogen to less than 20 points, then Boyd has a good chance of coming out the victor. Or, another scenario, if Boyd does allow Jake to have 20+ points, but he only shoots 25% from the field, I believe that increases Boyd's chances as well. As for the rest of the Temple team, they have their times, but Boyd does not have to worry about them too much, unless they start getting hot, then Boyd can just take care of that, and all will be well again. In my opinion, Boyd will have control of this game.
  2. I have had the honor to play against Charlie Moore at a nearby gym. I am two years younger than him, and I know that I'm not that good, but I was able to keep Charlie pretty quite when I was in. Don't get me wrong, he is a good shooter, but I think that may be all he can do. And he is only about 6'3 at the most. All respects to Charlie.
  3. I will be attending the Boyd @ CCS game tomorrow. I am a Boyd fan, and I pick Boyd to win this match. The reason I do is not because I am a Boyd fan, but because Cook has not been doing to well for CCS this year. I believe, that in order for CCS to win the game tomorrow, Cook has to have a good game, and the rest of the team has to play at a 9 or a 10 level throughout the entire game. Healy will play tomorrow, so Boyd doesn't have to worry about not playing well. If Boyd plays like the have been playing, I believe there is no way for CCS to come out with a W.
  4. The Temple @ Boyd game has been postponed for the following Thursday, January 23rd.
  5. I am a Boyd fan, so humor me with this post. If you can remember, back a few months ago Coach Wadley from Temple mentioned in the paper that Temple doesn't have the facilities nor the athletes, but the reason they win is because they outwork other teams (talking about private schools go seperate from public in state play-offs). Fatchance, I like that you mentioned Healy in your post, he has been doing really well this year, but there is one thing, he may have a medical problem therefore not allowing him to play against Temple Friday night. I will not mention the problem because I don't know if the family would want it out, just pray for him. As I mentioned earlier about what Coach Wadley said, that is the ONLY way Temple can beat Boyd, if they were to outwork them. Coach Helton, Boyd's head coach, does NOT put up with other teams outworking his team, or else, they will pay come practice time. I have been to some of Boyd's practices, they are very intense, in fact, I have seen no other team practice so hard. I just see Boyd coming away with a W at the end of it, whether it be close, or if it be a blowout.
  6. ALEX JONES from boyd buchanan..thats all i gotta say.
  7. I have watched all of boyd's games this year and they seem to be strong. They have a senior lead team and they have won all of their games except one to a team that finished in the semi-finals in the state of georgia last year and all their starters have returned. The football players who play basketball for them are returning this week. Expect to see them to finish as one of if not the top in state.
  8. Temple has a strong team with good leadership. they have some players by the names of skogen and wadley. the eldest of the brothers of skogen(jake) and wadley(ryan), help the team tremendously. they are good shooters, but the most recent game i saw them play in was vs. whitefield academy. whitefield was a very athletic team, 4 of the 5 starters were dunking. in that game, jake seemed to shoot the ball a few too many times. he would just dribble up and shoot and couldnt hit the broad side of a barn in the first half. he improved in the second half though. ryan is a really good player. i think that temple could have a strong season and finish close to how they did last year if they play as a TEAM...and not as individuals! but i advise yall go to the game when they play boyd buchanan. boyd will come out the victor in this game. but it will be a really good game for those who know about the rivalry between the schools.
  9. i am a fan of boyd basketball and i know that they recruit no one. they give academic scholarships but do not allow those people to play sports for them. boyd will be able to hand out sports scholarships when we join division II in 05'-06'. but as for south pittsburg, i went to the game when they played boyd buchanan in a jamboree at ccs. they didnt look to be too strong. they had a good guard with moves, but his shot he could work on, he is still a really good player.
