  1. Congratulations to Houston. They had a great game plan and executed it well. They deserved the win.
  2. I don't know about that. Brentwood is in middle Tennessee.
  3. Will this game be live-streamed anywhere?
  4. Oakland had 392 yards of total offense last night against Maryville, in 38-15 win. They did not complete a single pass.
  5. Great game by the Patriots, but I don't think I've ever seen 4 turnovers in 3 plays before - 2 by each team. May be a record.
  6. Cool!! Oakland is so tough, they can just step in and take over a Blackman/Riverdale thread.
  7. Is there a website that publishes game stats? I'd like to see them for this game.
  8. Oakland was the runners-up in 1989 and 1990. We lost in the finals to Gallatin one year and Dickson County the other year.
  9. Rutherford County is the 11th fastest growing County in the nation, not just the state. That's great for property values and football teams. Not so great for traffic.
  10. Let's worry about Lebanon. Summit and Maryville are not our problem right now. Lebanon is 11-1, and that is not by accident, or luck. And we've got to play at their place. I expect a tough game, similar to the playoff game against Mt Juliet a couple of years ago. We barely won, something like 15-12, or so. I'll take a win, no matter how close, but I can guarantee that LHS is not going to show up expecting to lose.
  11. South Pittsburg had more points and more 1st downs than Riverdale haf last week against Oakland.
  12. Does anyone know why Jordan James did not play in the 2nd half? He was standing on the sidelines and did not look like he was hurt.
  13. You left off LaVergne and Middle Tennessee Christian.
  14. Someone asked what are Oakland's strengths, so here's my observations. I don't think that they are all that big, but their team speed is ridiculous, especially on defense. If you run straight at them, you can move the ball a bit, get a few first downs. You might even finish the game with more first downs than Oakland. But all those 1st downs are between the 20's. You're going to have to drive 80 yards every time, and very few teams are able to do that. Big holes close so fast because of their team speed. If you want to beat Oakland, you're going to have to break off some long runs/pass completions. They're very disciplined and well coached. So there won't be a lot of penalties, and they always seem to be in the right place. If you throw a lot of passes, we are going to intercept some of them. On offense, Oakland will score just about every time they get the ball, so you will have to keep up. They have some great backs and all of them are capable of taking it to the house from anywhere on the field. Oakland will run all day long if you let them, but they can throw effectively when they need to. Our QB is new this year and has gotten better every game. I'm not convinced that he can throw it deep, but is very good at completing 10-15 yarders and moving the chains. Horton is a world class receiver, but is not afraid to block. I'm a homer, so my prediction is Oakland by 14. Lets say 28-14. If I'm wrong, and we lose this game, then I'll be bummed out about it, but I'll be glad to have had a game against better competition. It will only make us stronger. So, now someone from LA, please share what we can expect from your team. What are the strengths and weaknesses? What or who should we look for?
  15. Where is it being played? At Oakland or at Lipscomb?
