  1. toney has his 2300 yards tyson-over 900 yards hambrick-over 400 yards tallant-over 400 yds koko-over 300 yds rockymore-over 200 yds So i think alcoa has spread the wealth too
  2. Do any alcoa fans have any info on the fan bus that will be going up tomorrow afternoon?
  3. I could have sworn I saw the coacht scoreboard say he got his 41st toney had 3 total tds but only two of them were rushing. the other is put down as a receiving td. So that puts him at 40 rushing tds for the season.
  4. Fair enough, funny how alcoas players hold up rings and he doesnt
  5. I would say watch the tape of the bell co, maryville, loudon, cak and other tapes and see how many tackles this kid breaks. Its flat out scary how hard he is to tackle. I can name plays off the top of my head against maryville and loudon where he was hit in the backfield for a sure 3 yard loss and ends up getting 10 yards on the run. Alcoas line is good but watch toney run and you cant help but be impressed.
  6. Ducks TD's werent all rushing. Around 4-6 of his tds were receiving but he should still be somewhere on the list. His name is not on it because it was not turned in by the alcoa head coach john reid and athletic director. You are correct, Duck should be on this list somewhere... I believe Dustin had 42 in 2005 but it could have 41.
  7. his grades are really good. has around a 3.5
  8. Not sure about the scores but the alcoa freshman this year have won games against sequoyah, beardan, fulton and sevier co. They only have the one loss to maryville this season. There could have been more wins. Im not exactly sure how many games theyve played.
  9. so were back to that again huh. How about just saying good congrats and leave it at that without trying to throw the little dig in about open zone stuff. This is a great honor for those kids who have worked really hard.
  10. Alcoa high school made their rivals top 100 debut showing up at number 92 in the latest poll to be released. Congrats AHS!!!
  11. Ummm....comprehension....it's a good thing. Please point out WHERE I stated that it was wrong....unlawful....or that Maryville didn't have the same in the past? OK....the conversation is basically....let me move it down a level.....ok...another level....the sheer number of COA players that live OUTSIDE the city of COA that play on the football team. Last year the number of COA students that were tuition.....that is students that do NOT live in the city of COA was 31%. Now....do you really ....really .....really believe that the 31% number is not carried over to the football team????? Actually it's HIGHER. Check it...ok? Now as for Maples you are correct...and he was NOT a tuition student. Douglass and Burnett BOTH lived in the CITY OF MARYVILLE. Spradlin....your very good friend...live with Mr. Sentell moving in when he was 12. Don lived in the CITY OF MARYVILLE. Lanxter and Sommers never lived in COA because.....drum roll....they lived in and were from KNOXVILLE. Duck....sure was a COA kid from the beginning with the exception of his senior year when he lived with his coach in......drum roll......BLOUNT COUNTY. As for Tank...certainly a tuition student at Marville since the 8th grade. Like I said nothing wrong because there is absolutely NO rules broken. Just pointing out that COA has a significant number of "out of city" students and athletes that GREATLY benefit their program....just as Maryville has in the past. Sommer didnt live in alcoa but lanxter lived and still does live in andover right off of louisville road
  12. If you ask coach rankin or any of the offensive coaches and they will both tell you that reason a lot of balls arent flying around to a bunch of other people is not because of their lack of ability but because of alcoas game plan. With chase james at qb alcoa did not have a wide open passing attack. Alcoa threw the ball usually anywhere from 8-12 times per game, so lets just say 10 passes per game. James usually completed about 6 or 7 of those. Alcoa runs a lot of boot and the main options on the boots are the tight end and fullback. So between tyson and tyler robinson, they will usually get about 5 of those. The main option at wr and one of the biggest playmakers on offense was sam thompson so he usually got around 2-3 catches per game. Coach rankins philosophy has always been to get the ball into the hands the best playmakers. He doesnt waste plays throwing it all over the field, which makes alcoas offense extremely efficient( completed over 65% of their passes for 3 straight years). Coach rankin knows who he wants to get the ball to and their coaches game plan to do that. And as for the point about thompson in the maryville game, the reason he had no catches is because he had one drop and also james under threw a post route to thompson that would have been a td had james put it out there. Also, isom did have over 5 catches last season. Its easy to see the kind of ability that kid has and he showed it last year with a couple great catches, with the most impressive being a diving catch for a td against loudon. At that point there just werent a lot of plays called for him. All spring he flashed the ability that had coaches from clemson and mtsu asking about. And the whole daniel robinson situation is unfortunate for him because he plays the same position as tyler robinson as a pass catching tight end, which is basically a 3rd wr. He is a great blocker on the perimeter and while he does have good hands there just arent a lot of ball to go around for him to catch. But i will agree with you on the point about them have a deep group of really good blockers. you can tell that is something that they really work on and its important to them.
  13. Im sure alcoas guys love to hear that. Theyre already good, I dont think you need to make them mad on top of that. Stuff like that is usually remembered. Im pretty sure the only people that should call out alcoa is maryville. By the way, Alcoas left tackle marcell walden is pretty good so i guess we will get to see who wins out with that one.
