  3. Do ya know any teams coming to this race?
  4. Pickel and Butler's college coaches might not want them to play in the game.
  5. She has been watching this district for years! Anybody can win on any given night in District 5-AAA!
  6. Again, you have one strong dominate team, Cumberland County. The way the region tournament is set up, the first place team from District 6-AAA will play the fourth seeded team from District 5-AAA. Do you intentionally lose the 3rd place game in District 5-AAA to keep your team out of Cumberland County's bracket in the region tournament? District 6-AAA is really down with the loss of Brainerd to AA. I think Cumberland wins the district and region. The question is...who travels for the sub-state game with Region 4 as the runner-up from Region 3?
  7. There hasn't been a M.V.P. or Coach of the Year since 2001. That is the year that Breazeal (CCHS), Powell (CHS), and the Rhea county coach voted for Crystal Smith? (signed with Roane State) as M.V.P. over Tennessee signee Brittany Jackson. Jackson dropped 50 on Rhea the previous year. Amazing things happen in district 5-AAA!
  8. I wouldn't doubt it if she had over 1000 rebounds. Ms. Versatility!
  9. Where are the district and region tournaments at?
  10. Do you consider the victory an "upset"? Either way, it took a great coaching job to get a win at Smiddy arena with or without Pickel. I'm just glad that she is doing good and ready to make a run at the state tournament! TynerRamFan: Consequences to what??? Your not bothering me! I like to get those feathers ruffled!
  11. First of all, I'm outside looking in. Second of all, worry about your region and quit gloating over your win against Bradley.
  12. Any coach of the game knows that if you lose a player, you lose chemistry. In a sense, you could call it shell shock in knowing that your floor general is down. Can you explain the 26 point loss early in the year that Bradley put on Tyner? Sing your praises now because the only reason Tyner was added to the schedule is to produce a couple of easy wins for a coach that has had problems with producing W's because of a tough district. Tyner did get the win, but more importantly Pickel isn't going to miss any games. Tyner better worry about getting past the first round of region!
  13. She'll do whatever it takes to beat Cleveland again! Haha!
  14. I was wondering why Tyner won.
  15. Does anyone know the extent of her injury? From www.clevelandbanner.com Editor's note: The Bradley Central Bearettes fell to Tyner on Saturday night, 53-45. The Bearettes leading scorer, Jackie Pickel, was injured early in the game and was undergoing oral surgery at press time. Complete coverage will be in Monday's edition of the Banner.
  16. Did Rhea not beat McMinn County Friday night? the scoreboard says 55-52 Rhea County.
  17. It's critical that they win the region. There are alot of players in the district that can take over (Pickel, Butler, Simpson). Tourney time is step up time. The Lady Jets have the guns, the question is if they will all be firing at the same time!
  18. Jim Smiddy 1,218 wins against a hundred and something losses. He did have the national record till two weeks ago! He coached from 1948-1993. Charleston and Bradley Central.
  19. The district is always decided by prime time players that step up to the challenge. Butler is a great fundlemental player that understands the game. Tucker will utilize her production. The district seeding is usually important, but this year, there are so many good teams. The championship will be decided by the team that has the most chemistry from the five position to the one position! It's going to be the most balanced district 5-AAA tourament ever!
  20. Looks like you got bad information! Never underestimate the tradition rich Bearettes!
  21. You should see some of my students papers. I gave up on giving essays! I would spend the whole weekend just trying to deciper them! lol!
  22. Sounds more like confidence that arrogance!
  23. Cumberland by double digits! McMinn County by a couple. Really good games that mean alot in the district race!
  24. Dade County is a really good team that is in the Chattanooga area!
