  1. Only 15 pages of for a Macon Co. game. You guys better hurry and fill coacht with more bable.
  2. Man, that took a while. It is on page 22 or 23 of the McMinn vs. DB thread which is on page 14 or 15.
  3. How can you pick against CAK? To win 3 games by 4 points makes you think of destiny or a higher power!
  4. Maryville will win. Why? They always do.
  5. No doubt the fullback will deserve a look. As I stated on a previous thread, he took over every game I have seen him play for the past two years. I also think the Gaines kid may get a look (he may only be a Jr. though). Next year, the QB and the Williams kid (maybe) will be DI caliber recruits.
  6. This game will go to the team that is able to relax and play their game. Riverdale has been here a lot, Oak Ridge has not been this far lately. Edge to Riverdale. Game is at the 'Ship. Edge to Oak Ridge. Early mistakes will prove costly in a game between to really good teams with great coaches. My gut tells me Riverdale, 17-13.
  7. WaCo, I am not a "McMinn Co." fan, I am a Jeff. Co. fan. I root for my team and anyone who is coached by our alumni. I am also a fan of whoever is playing DB because of folks like you.
  8. Skunk, I have watched 1000s of games and do not recall ever seeing a coach, head or assistant, shake all the players hands. If you watch games on TV, the head coaches shake hands and then it is off to the dressing room. This ain't little league. I am sure that Coach Clark doesn't shake hands with all the players or coaches all the time. The fact is that you did state on another thread that Coach Hutchins did not shake hands after this game. Own up to your posts.
  9. Havind watched both of these regions for a few years, I must say that Region 2 is better from top to bottom. DB and Jeff. Co. are quality teams, but the teams in region 2 must bring their "A" games every week. There are no Campbell countys or Karnses in region 2.
  10. I was on the sideline, and I can assure you no coach on McMinn's staff congratulated the player for the late hit. In fact, Coach Hutchins meet the player at the numbers and got on him pretty hard. The player was a senior and was very frustrated (not an excuse for his behavior) and lost his cool. As for the questioning of the official, I did hear that exchange. Coach Hutchins was asking the official on MC's sideline why it was a 15 yard penalty. The same call went against DB in the first half and was a five yard penalty. The head official explained it was ruled a personal foul (correctly so to be honest) and that was that.
  11. Congratulations on winning a "state championship". No disrespect to the job the coaches and players from MBA put in, but my problem is with the TSSAA and the divisions they have created. MBA won a title over 6 other teams from across the state. Oak Ridge had to defeat more than that to win its REGION!! The TSSAA must come up with a better plan than this. To only have to win 3 games in the "play-offs" (all the teams make it so how is this a playoff) to win a state title is not fair.
  12. Enough soccer talk on this board. Any talk of "communist kickball" should be an automatic ban on the football board.
  13. I am happy to see some high school coaches showing the "tough love" some of today's athletes need. Maybe by missing this game, Lamon will not turn out to be Keyshawn Johnson. Earlier this year, George Quarles suspended a couple of players for the first Knox Central game, and I have heard others suspending players who are not with the "team" concept. I hope this teaches athletes at a young age to act with some sense.
  14. Please do not judge all of McMinn County by the actions of one "idiot kicker who got liquored up and posted none sense on the internet". I, along with the coaches at McMinn wish both the teams luck Friday night in what should be a great game.
  15. Indian 66, You obviously do not know him too well. His name is Erik, not Eric!!
  16. Is anyone looking at the Flannery kid as a back? I have watched him play six or seven games over the past 2 years and he is a solid running back. I would hope a smaller school like Tusculum or Emory would take such a fine young back.
  17. According to these posts, Vandy will be loaded at running back in the future (both Jennings and Jackson have committed to the 'Dores!!)
  18. It will be another classic in a rich traditional rivialry. Maryville continues to overcome injuries better than any team in the state (including UT) and Central will at least have healthy players for this contest (our prayers are with you Coach Helton). I think the bottom line is that Maryville expects to win while central thinks they can win. Coach Quarles and his boys win a close one, 28-24.
  19. Bud, Just for the record, I was right behind Coach Hutchins after the game and personally saw him shake hands with Coach Clark and wish him luck in the rest of DB's games. He also shoke hands with two other coaches, #10, and #7. It is our policy at McMinn to leave the field as soon as possible, win or lose. I really respect your program at DB and know that Coach Hutchins does as well. Please get your facts straight before blasting people on this site. Good luck to DB, all of region 1 is pulling for you guys.
  20. I do not have the official figures, but the Vols have had a lot of success with players from Memphis, especially Melrose. Also, players from Milan and other schools from the western part of the state seem to have been the most successful at UT.
  21. You are correct in your assessment of Coach Stevens. The middle backer, #44, is areal ballplayer and will be a large key to Oak Ridge winning this game. He must stop #32. Also, OR should lock #19 on to DB #1. Let #17 get after the QB. DB is a good team, but they cannot handle someone running right at them. Good luck to both teams.
  22. Wish all cherokee fans could be there!!!
  23. Just read about Coach Helton in the paper. I hope he returns quickly for his team and for himself. I have know of Coach Helton for many years and know he lives for the game. Get better Coach and good luck Bobcats
