  1. I guess it will be Perry County at McKenzie in opening round of the region. I expect McKenzie to win
  2. In the district finals. McEwen must be pretty good
  3. Well McKenzie won like many expected. I knew McKenzie was a strong team, but yesterday’s performance was off the charts good. I do think Wayne County is a very solid team — if McKenzie hits 7 of 14 instead of 11 of 14 then obviously it’s a much closer game.
  4. I give Huntland much credit it seemed it was a pretty close game throughout despite it being high scoring. I really thought if McKenzie could put up a bunch of points early then they would have a much easier time
  5. I don’t think Huntland will turn it over every time, but McKenzie forces plenty of turnovers against virtually everyone. Huntland has size advantage, and #14 will be a tough matchup in particular — but Davis and the Reynolds’ sisters will be even tougher matchups for Huntland. At the end, I think McKenzie will be in front by a comfortable margin
  6. Yes it could be close if Huntland can establish the pace it desires, but I think McKenzie will force enough turnovers that Huntland will be playing catch-up and unable to play at a slower pace and utilize its size.
  7. Makes sense that it was so close of Wayne County couldn’t get the turnovers. I know Huntland has good size. Huntland’s defense must have been solid in the half court as well. Huntland will need good ball handlers to stay with McKenzie
  8. What are the keys to slowing down Wayne County? I know Huntland is big and have a couple of good players as I’ve seen them play twice, but I haven’t gotten to see WC play. It seems from the score that Huntland held the Lady Cats in check
  9. I have seen Huntland play but only a couple of times. Really good size and #14 and #21 appeared to be good players in the games I saw. Also #31 has good size, but there wasn’t a ton of production in the games I watched. I don’t see Huntland having much of an opportunity to win this game as I think the McKenzie pressure will force enough turnovers to win easily. McKenzie is the much faster team so I suppose for Huntland to have any chance then it will have to really control the tempo. I just don’t think the Lady Hornets will be able to do that
  10. I don’t think Huntland will challenge McKenzie as the Lady Rebel pressure and speed will be enough to offset the size of Huntland
  11. Well McKenzie will play Huntland which a big team but not very fast. I see McKenzie’s pressure forcing tons of turnovers in this one as the Lady Rebels roll to victory
  12. I didn’t see PC beating HC but congrats to the Lady Vikings. I imagine McKenzie will take the region crown. Huntland vs Wayne County should be a good matchup in region 5
  13. Well did all the games in region 5 & 6 go as many expected? I wasn’t sure how region 5 would go, but it appears that District 9 was much stronger
  14. So is pretty clear that Wayne County will win the other region? I’ve seen times where teams played so hard to win a region and avoid a particular team only to have that team (to be avoided) lose in its regional final
  15. I see McKenzie winning the region and Houston County being runner-up. I think both teams can end up in Murfreesboro though
  16. From looking at the scores it seems Summertown had two excellent games in the Richland tournament. I saw Richland earlier and I thought the game against Summertown would be a competitive game but that wasn’t the case at all
  17. I’ve seen WC a couple of times now and the 6’1 sophomore has quite an impact on the game especially on the defensive end. So I would definitely consider that team a challenger, but I still see McKenzie as clearly the top team when healthy
  18. Wow Summertown went from up 10 with 1:50 left to losing by 10. That’s quite a turnaround if I’m reading that correctly
  19. I haven’t seen South Side yet, but I saw Upperman earlier and that squad is loaded. Plenty of shooting surrounding quite a good post.
  20. Okay sounds like the Lady Cats have some top talent then
  21. Depth is always important but to really challenge a team like McKenzie they better have some top talent. Both the Reynolds girls and of course Davis are extremely talented
  22. What did Summertown coach do that turned out so bad? Folks were saying in another thread that Wayne County could challenge McKenzie and if that’s the case then WC must be pretty good
  23. As for Wayne County, I was thinking since the Lady Cats graduated three seniors that they might not be a challenger this year
  24. Well without Davis that would change things of course but as long as she’s back before tournaments start then it could work to Mackenzie’s advantage in a way — other players will likely get more experience
