What wrestlers are being recruited and what schools are recruiting them. Tell what school they are from and who is looking.

I think Greeneville team to beat. King and Brimer only returning medalist. Arrington will be a force. Kole Bishop from sully east will be a force. Both the Mann boys from D.B. could be medalist contenders. Justin Myers another contender. Science Hill will have a few. Will Haynes may come back in great health and a new focus. Churchman from Jeff. may be ready. Fleming and Preston from D.B. should be getting close. Kilgore from M.W. 189 may make the move to the next level. Eliz. Coggins, Pearce A. Richardson could come along. There could be 20 kids from reg. 1 make the move if they are willing to work for it. But we could have draws like we had in 2007. We won a ton of 1st round matches, then 2nd round caught up with us, and our guys did not pull us. Look at what Robbins and Potter had in the second round. Both had returnung medalist and one the eventual champion. Potter went on to place 3rd. Robbins fell to 6th after a hard fought match, and Youngs closest match. Caleb Myers had a monster draw for a 2x medalist and top seed. We hope Caleb is doing well and has a great college career if he wants one. He has represented Greeneville High and Reg. 1 well. All though Zack Potter seems to get very little respect on these boards he has represented Betsy and reg. 1 well. 2008 will be a good year look how well Green. and the Hill did at the duals. We are a stronger region and have better wrestling. Look at 130 and 135 and 285 at our reg. tourney. 189 103 112 119 140 160 171 all had several quality competitors. How many days till we do it again. I LOVE THIS SPORT!!!

What a wrestler should be lead by example. Not only by winning but evidently in the classroom. He must have been a leader in the wrestling room also, congrats on PRINCESTON. GOODLUCK>

The officiating was overall very good. Mr. Huffington, Mr. Elsea stick out to me, always in control, always into the match. Great officals. There is a feeling from other areas of the state that with alot of the refs you will not get a close call against alot of chatt. areas better teams. This may be true may not but it does seem to work this way alot when you have time to set back and watch. One thing I do not understand is refs at state will warn the top man for stalling and tell him to get off the hips, but will not give the point to the bottom man, when top still stays on the hips. Saw this no less than 10 times usually warned in the first 40 sec. then top stays on hips the next min. and nothing is done. Reg. 1 only had one ref. at state this year. The one we had did a great job. Better than about all at the tournament.

Thanks to all, Zack had a great year. With alot more hard work he may beable to get that state title he wants. Thanks again.

The only people that should be seeded are returning medalist even if they are not region champions. Region champs evidently get some kind of extra treatment look at the brackets, they are alot in seeded positions, that are not medalist.

RC great ideals agree with all espcially with the split of large and small. Television has been watching to much of it. Its funny alot of the people who do not what a split are the ones it would not effect. Bradley, soddy and teams such as these it could take a touch of focus off them, i dont know. Split us down the middle the 65 or 70 largest up and the 65 or 70 smallest down. Do not tie us to 1a 2a or 3a largest up smallest down and realign every two or three years. It would make the sport grow. It would allow more success, and make us better nationally.

That is the problem there is no consistancy. All tn. sports are treated one way wrestling another. Just go to a basketball game look at what the coaches do to the refs there, if a wrestling coach did one tenth he would be outside. Look at how this sport is treated. All others have divisions. We have one. Look at our awards. Mr. football in tn. gets trophys that are huge. Our kids get very small medals for placing. The state medal today is smaller than my regional medal from the seventies. Wrestling is treated with no consistancy at all. We are treated pitifully bad. I agree with about anything that is thought of the tssaa and its adminastors. They are not interested in kids only in money. I wonder how the refs were graded this weekend. I saw so much in consistancy in takedown calls near the out of bounds. Stalling is a joke, there is no nothing to how it is called. Officals need to be held accountable as coaches are, most coaches now alittle about the sport. Most of the crowd there knows alittle about the sport. Do not hurt kids for adults miss givings and mistakes. An that is what the tssaa does regularly.

N.Y. has two classes. Tn. needs to be split down the middle. Large and small for the individual tournament. This will help the sport grow it has every where else. I dont understand how this will hurt wrestling in anyway. It can only help. Everyone likes the status queo, that is the reason we are dying a slow death in college. Its only a few schools that compete for the prize. Thats the same in high school wrestling in Tn. and dont mess with the powers that be.

What happened to Quick? I saw where he did not even qualify. Did he wrestle in the region?

Need double elim. butno true second wrestle off. If we are going to have true second we need challenge for 3rd. thru 6th. Double elim. would be great. The draw determines placers as much as the wrestlers do, and it is even more important now with the top 3 only advancing. But that is the logic of the TSSAA. Take 2-8 teams to the football play-offs for a few dollars. But dont give an opportunity to a kid who has worked his tail off for a chance.
