  1. This was a great game that was well officiated. Of course I look at it objectively. You guys are looking with your pom poms in hand. The main thing most fans need to learn is THAT A BLOCKED SHOT IS NOT A FOUL! As I remember at the end of the game Grainger had to foul 4 times to get to the CD to the bonus. The fouls at the point were 8 on CD and 3 on Grainger.
  2. The rumor is that Todd Wright of Lenoir City, formerly Maryville College women's coach has been hired. Any truth to that rumor?
  3. McMinn's first trip in 19 years very athletic, kinda up and down, but mostly up. Good guard play with some guys that can jump out of the gym. Interested to see how they fare.
  4. That would be correct vannman
  5. Heard yesterday that Todd Wright was deciding between Seymour and Lenoir City.
  6. That is a crazy reason for a technical, because you really don't have to put in a sub. there is no rule that you have to have 5 players out there. you can resume play with only 4 players on the court. don't know if that is a legitimate reason for a "T" or not. You need to read your rule book again. If you have 5 available players you must put 5 on the court. After a player fouls out, the coach has 20 seconds to replace that player , provided he or she has a player available, or it is a technical foul.
  7. I can tell you from experience referees would like to see the larger box. I have officiated for many years, and have always felt if the coaches are coaching then it doesn't matter where they stand. After all it is called a coaches box not a refereeing box. To address the comment about officials worry too much about the box, well let me say we have to enforce the rules no matter how silly they are or we will suffer the conseqences. If we ignore the coaches box can we ignore traveling? Yes we do have consequences, I was working a blowout game some folks from the state office was there to watch as I had been nominated for a state tourney that year., the coach of the team being blown out was having what i would term friendly banter with me after the game was questioned why I didn't "T" him up for being out of the box. I still got to work the state that year but If you think about it that is a RULE.
  8. I think everyone is overlooking the Loudon Redskins in there first trip to the state Tournament in school history.
