  1. dang ihavenofriendzz.... you are an idiot.
  2. I never said anything about head to head matchups, William Blount owns Maryville this year, but it can also seem like William Blount only can get hyped up for games against Maryville. When I said losing, it was refering to their struggling as of late, everyone has a clean slate going into the postseason play, don't underestimate anyone.
  3. Thats a really bright post TG, all Maryville has to do is beat the winner of Lenior City / Sevier County and they enter the region tournament. I'd worry about your losing Governors (17-10 also) before trying to pick on teams like Maryville.
  4. 13-4 in the last 17, with a win over Oak Ridge (#1 in their district) and a 2 point loss to Bearden (#1 in district), three loses that could be considered "ugly" but I believe this team is beginning to hit their stride.
  5. Not sure where you are finding your facts, but Maryville is 17-10. If I was Bearden, or any other potential foe in the district tournament, the last team that I would want to play would be Maryville. The district and region of this area is wide open and it will be interesting to see how Maryville plays, because this team does have something to prove.
  6. It makes it much easier on Bearden when the refs are extremely partial to Tony White. Maryville had the bulldogs beat at home, and their inside presence overwhelmed them. No one has the size and depth to match up with a physical team such as Maryville. The district tournament will be extremely competitive, and it is hard to predict a winner right now. Depending on how Bearden's three point shooters play will vastly effect their success. William Blount is very streaky and is hard to predict which team we will see. Farragut is a dark horse right now and has a chance to sneak up on some teams, but if Maryville shows up to play, I believe they have the tools and capability to go far in postseason play.
  7. Bearden has the best set of guards in the region, the way you beat them is by going inside. Maryville proved that the last time they played Bearden as they only lost 68-66. William Blount can be inconsistent at times, as can many teams in this region. Heritage is defintely capable of beating them as WB only won in 2 OT last game by a game winning three point shot. Bearden blew them out to win the region and are the team to beat. District tournament will tell a lot about many of the teams in this area, I believe especially Maryville due to their inside presence and the team beginning to come together. They are under everyones radar and will surprise many in the coming weeks.
  8. The boys semifinals are Thursday, and championship is Friday.
  9. The boys semifinals are Thursday, and chamionship is Friday.
  10. Brewer had a nice game, dont know how many he had, put post play from Maryville was key. Guards came out shooting from the get go as Maryville got up 15-3 at one point in the beginning. Great ball movement led to easy layups most of the game. Danny Saxe went down with an injury to his forearm on the first play of the game, don't know the severity, but Maryville needs him back as soon as possible. A lot of people continue to pick against Maryville, but they continue to roll. If the guards are hot and the post play continues to be strong I think this region could definatly be Maryville's.
  11. Trey Brewer from Maryville. This kid can drive, dish, and as of late....shoot the ball. Dismal shooting at the beginning of the season hurts percentage but the past two games has something like 9 threes. This guy can play.
  12. As mhsrbl202 said, Maryville won by about 8 or so. Amazing part about it was they were down 15-2 in the first quarter and stormed back with Curtis Tate and Luke West finishing and knocking down big shots along the way. Farragut has a good team, but Maryville is going to surprise a lot of people this year.
  13. Thats gotta be one of the dumbest posts i've ever read... Beating yall at home by 20 sounds pretty bad to me, but if you don't consider that "killing" I guess thats your opinion. Tyler Maples aka "that one dude" averages about 17 a game, Derek Hunt isnt far behind with 12, and Justin Huskey and Will Jolly with about 10 a piece, so once again "that one dude" isn't all we have. Yeah, we were down by seven at half time...but who came back and won by 20? Yeah maryville did and thats a sign on a great team that can respond to getting beat. If Lenoir City isn't any competition, then why can't the great Louden team beat them? Doesn't make any sense to me......
  14. I loved how Alcoa packed in that 2-3 zone the entire game. Alcoa seemed scared to me because they knew of Maples driving and passing ability, and they knew the posts potential, so the cut that off by the 2-3. Maryville was cold last night so thats the only reason why Alcoa won that came to me because all they played was a 2-3 I'll give it to Kyrus....the kid has a serious handle and is a great player. TnVols23, you have to admit yourself, the officiating was terrible and that got Maryville players into foul trouble early, many coming off bad and unneccesary calls. Again Derek Hunt was out with sickness, Huskey was sick, and Josh Allen left the game early with foul trouble and then later with an ankle sprain. These aren't excuses, Maryville got beat, but im just saying it for the record. Maryville has a lot of depth, its just that the coach doesn't know what to do with it. Maryville and Alcoa split it this year and i think it will be a great rivalry for the future.
  15. alcoa wasnt the best fresman team before...maryville was and still is...they beat louden twice
