  1. Oklahoma is undefeated in my book royally screwed over by a suspended Pac-10 officiating crew. The polls don't reflect the true strengths of each team. If Oklahoma had the chance to play Ohio State, the Sooners would win convincingly. As for North Texas, they are probably more down on our level and it's good that we have these games. Tennessee Tech and Tennessee State truly need to stick to playing teams more down on their level like Garner-Webb and Prarie View A&M as if the 44-0 and 38-9 losses to Middle Tennessee and Vanderbilt wasn't proof of that.
  2. You think I'm bothered because we lost 59-0 to the best team in the country in 1-A? Middle Tennessee going up against Oklahoma is like White County trying to take on Nease, Florida. Only instead of losing 59-0, White County would be soundly beaten 500-0.
  3. Are you on crystal meth? I know that's what the honky-tonk town of Sparta is good for. You don't know jack about me. And what comment did I make that was racist? How did Middle Tennessee ruin it's own reputation? We didn't hire Nolan Richardson III or L.C. Cole. We didn't have an athletic dapartment that nearly got the death penalty for having over 100 NCAA violations in a single season in virtually every single sport from football all the way down to synchronized swimming like tsu did. It's funny that you THINK Middle Tennessee is a school for drunks. You've never been to Vandy apparently. Unlike UTK and Vandy, Middle Tennessee has a dry campus, and UNLIKE Vandy, Middle Tennessee is not on Playboy Magazine's Top 25 Party Schools which is where all your drunken rebellious revelers are. I was up in Nashville last year when we knocked off Vanderbilt's undefeated football team. They have the most disprespectful drunken as heck fans in all of college football. Middle Tennessee is not #1 in the state in number of rapes and assaults like Vandy is. We've not had guns pulled out at parties and people shot like at tsu and Vandy. We don't have coaches that hurl insults and make excuses for losses to lesser programs like fat Phillip Fulmer over in Puke Orange country. Maybe you are just jealous because we are going somewhere and tsu isn't. That we are 3-0 against Vandy in the new millineum and they haven't beaten us since the 1950's but that they will still cruise againt the Tigers. Maybe you're upset because even as bad as Vandy is, they will still stomp a mudhole in tsu today.
  4. I don't know everything, but I do know who's good and who's not. It's usually the same way every year. CC has lost to Overton every time they've played. Were you surprised by the loss? As far as insulting intelligence, I'd say you are doing your fair share of that with your far flung comspiracy theories of where Middle Tennessee gets their money toward athletics. I don't care who or what picks on me. I can take care of myself. And FYI, unlike you, I do remember my senior year, and junior, sophomore, and freshman years at CC. I graduated with the best athletes to ever attend Coffee County Central over the past 25 years--a bunch of guys who beat one of Tullahoma's better teams ON THE ROAD, who made it to the playoffs and finished second in the state's toughest region. That team would walk all over in other Coffee County team that's been in Manchester since then. We had a good coach then. Jeff Breeden was a joke. I'm just glad I was gone from CC before he took over. He should've stuck to softball cause his pompous oversized rearend isn't fit for coaching football.
  5. Nashville-Overton has a good team. You'll probably see them in the playoffs as a #3 or #4 from 5-4A. I thought everybody knew that.
  6. TSU is an HBCU. It is what it is. I'm not racist, but racism still works both ways. The Geier Consent Decree (now dead as of September 11th) was used by TSU as a scapegoat for state funding. Or didn't you notice that it's TSU with the medical school and new law school while Middle Tennessee--the state's second largest university--has an aging science building originally built for 6,000 students but sees over 20,000 a day. It's kind of bad when you use racism to block another school from changing it's name as TSU did to Middle Tennessee back in 1998 when they said a change from "Middle Tennessee State" to the "University of Middle Tennessee" would hinder their capabilities of enrolling more minority students. Maybe if they had a safer, crime-free campus and didn't run a disfunctional athletic department with coaches that pull guns out on players, then TSU would be better off.
  7. Kate is blowing a little bit of smoke here if she thinks Middle Tennessee puts athletic funding ahead of education and research. Virtually all of Middle Tennessee's athletic facilities and improvements have come from people like myself who donate thousands of dollars to Middle Tennessee each year to the BRAA to be directly used for athletics. And then you have extremely wealthy donors like Mark Pyrtle, former Devil Rays pitcher Dewon Brazelton, donating $250,000 or $100,000 toward the baseball stadium. The baseball stadium is being funded completely by donations. The small athletics fee that MT students pay with tuition hardly covers jack with Middle Tennessee. If Kate wants to complain about losing research facilites, she needs to take it us with the governor who's been pouring state money into facilities at UTK, TSU, Memphis, and Vandy for years! Middle Tennessee has been trying for years to get a new $400 Million science building to better suit it's growing status and yet the state can turn around and add a new doctorate programs at UTK and the black school up in Nashville because they feel that have to be "fair". If Middle Tennessee wasn't such a great university in alot of the fields that they have, we would've never gotten that $7 Million donation from NASA for our Aerospace program or the $2-3 Million for our Equestrian program. The idea that the university is spending university funds on athletics over educational programs is false and completely ludicrous.
  8. I know White County has a lousy football team and will always have a lousy football team. Stick to women's basketball. Maybe you can be the next Kelly Jolly.
  9. Best of luck to you with that. I'm sure you heard that Middle Tennessee is finally renovating their baseball stadium. It's going to look nice. The same company that built Auburn's baseball stadium is building ours. I don't know if you saw but we have over half of the $7 Million price tag raised for the new stadium, and Mr. Kennon who donated $1 Million towards construction of the Middle Tennessee Hall of Fame building made the announcement during our football game Thursday night that he was gonig to donate a half a million dollars more toward the construction of the baseball stadium. The new stadium will be ready by 2008. I can't wait. It's going to be nice.
  10. That particular forum is a premium forum. Not anyone can post there. I know that in my four years at Manchester we had a combined record of 17-24 and one playoff appearance. Never in my four years at CC did the Red Raiders lose by 35 points to our inner-county rival from Tullahoma. And never have they lost by that many points since I left there 8 years ago. It's kind of embarrassing the way the CC alma mater was represented and to our biggest rival no less. Boy, I should surely hope so. And judging from the 48-7 victory over Cumberland County, there was definitely something there in that game that was missing in Tullahoma. It's kind of the same with this this kid from Hoover High School in Alabama who we were recruiting at Middle Tennessee. He made a visit to Murfreesboro and Hattiesburg among other places. I just remember how he would regularly visit our Blue Raider messageboards and make snide comments about our program and why he chose to go to 1-AA Furman over us. In all honesty, I doubt he was 1-A material. It definitely showed in unimpressive showings against Jacksonville State and Division II West Georgia. By the way, you can see him on the MTV reality show "Two-A-Days". Max Lerner is quite the celebrity now. . . .on MTV at least, but not for the Furman Paladins. Yeah, just like Maryland blew us away 24-10. It'll be very interesting to see how our defense will do against the Sooners. I think it will alot closer than people think. If UAB can give the Sooners fits with their team, than we will most definitely be a nerve-racking encounter with our nationally-ranked Top 25 defense.
  11. Actually, the old slogan was "Be Loud. Be Proud. Be Blue." You won't see Middle Tennessee lose 42-7 this year to anyone even Oklahoma and Louisville.
  12. Tullahoma's blowout victory over Manchester last weekend ranks way up there as one of the biggest point margins in the history of this game. If you couldn't tell from that game, Manchester's not getting better. They're getting worse. Sad really. Middle Tennessee won last night. That's all that matters. We stand a shot to win our conference title. Manchester just lost theirs two weeks ago.
  13. You mean like Tennessee Tech with only 10 yards total rushing on 33 carries in a 44-0 loss to Middle Tennessee last night? At least Putnam County has one football team that can get to at least .500.
  14. I don't think the games in this series have ever been lopsided. How you guys can predict a blowout after what Tullahoma did to Manchester is surprising. Manchester has a team hobbling into week 5 and two embarrassing losses. Even though there are six games left to play. The season ender for Manchester is tomorrow night. Cumberland County by 7.
  15. Nope. Cookeville's going to win the state title! Except they have to make it past the first round--not easy since they couldn't even get past the #4 seed from 4-5A this past Friday night. Hey, Mr. Heisman, you going to Murfreesboro Thursday night to watch Tennessee Tech get drilled 63-0 or worse by Middle Tennessee?
