Hixson got a few raw officiating deals.... in non-critical moments. White County got a few raw officiating deals.... when Hixson was driving at the end of the 1st half for their first touchdown, and then later when we were driving at the end of the game for the winning score. Pass interference is pass interference. If the officials can't even be bothered to see it, maybe they should find a new line of work. At crucial points in the game, the referees have to step their game up and make absolutely sure they make no errors. In this game, the crucial points were exactly when the refs seemed to do their worst. But I guess it's up to the TSSAA for now. We shall see if Hixson's ill-gotten victory shall be awarded to us or if it shall just be vacated to a tie. (Of course, if our boys hadn't made so many goof-ups at the worst possible times, the score would have been out of reach for the officials to award it to Hixson anyway. But that is an argument for another day.)

Did somebody just try to claim a meaningless preseason contest as a "humiliation"?

Well. What can one say after such an amazing officiating performance like that. Truly breathtaking. I can only lament I wasn't there to see it in person, I could tell my grandchildren about that one.

Yes, though to me it looks as if he has calmed down quite a bit from last year. I can only think of one penalty on him for that so far, and that one was highly questionable based on his reputation rather than actually deserving it.

I am agreeing with you, you know. Anybody who has seen our offense knows what we can and cannot do without Delaney. Hixson has seen our films. Therefore, what you may have said being seen by Hixson coaches and rushing off to tell their players is not really worth worrying about.

Anybody who has seen a Sparta offensive drive lately would know more than what Spartaboy just posted.

It is possible to make a judgement about a team ("we stink") and still be a fan of it. Cumberland County does in fact stink. Only the most deluded of Jet fans would argue the point. You can still be proud of the effort while lamenting the lack of results coming from that effort.

White County is barely big enough for 4A, much less 5A. Much as I would enjoy being in 3-5A, it's likely not going to happen.

Brainerd could very well win, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Yes, that has been a problem. I'm thinking that we have only a few guys who are extraordinary talents (Dell, JJ, etc.) and so we overuse them (out of necessity) and they just get banged up. It's unfortunate but that's the way it's going to be I guess.
