The way Unaka played against lookout valley last year they probably won't go back to state unless they brought up some ballplayers through and through or were just having a bad week.

Just had a bad game. plus Lookout Valley was on that evening.

King, or should we call you Asst. coach for SG girls basketball? Read the posts again, nobody said SG didnt have the right to play, nor blamed anyone for North having players missing. Your comments further substantiates what everyone thinks about the game last night. Keep it up King, you are doing (coaching) great!

King's not South Greene's assistant. He dosen't even have enough class to be on that staff. He's a washed up never-was from Cloudland.

My mercy for you is about to run out. Do you know that whipping you is equivalent to beating up a cheerleader? Do you realize you would committ suicide if you really understood what a loser you are? You are by far the biggest joke of a human being I have ever met. Number one: you are from Stoney Creek which is the most crime and disease infested places on the planet. Second: you are a retarded water-boy who was never good in any sports or anything in life. If I can get past the pity I have for you, I'm going to beat the crap out of you if you don't shut up about my family. I'm sick of you all resorting to personal attacks just because you can't win and the alliance wants to see Unaka destroyed forever, because its not a good place for kids to go to school considering that they have to threaten to shut it down because of lack of educational opportunity. As for you, you better watch yourself. Patience is running thin.

Whooo boy, I'm shaking! ... Oh, and I also forgot to metion that he gets his glory from giving hollow threats to people to people half his age as well?....

What a joke! You truely ignorant

King just shut tha heck up....everybodys tired of u startin crap and runnin your mouth...Go post on hampton and cloudlands posts and stay out of the unaka posts unless it has to do with unaka and hampton or cloudland

Don't mind king. He's just a washed up never-was that is looking to fit in somewhere. Cloudland people don't like him, so he tries to fit in with Hamponites. But Hamptonites don't like him either. Whoever puts up with him had better watch out though. He will stab you in the back without warning. He's nothing but a hypcrite. He's a fair weather fan too. Even his family is ashamed of him, the just accept him because they are good people. Hard to imagine how an idiot like that came from them. But anyway, he tries to relive his "glory days" playing football by talking trash and bashing people half his age. He talks about some "big blue allience," but as soon as he can, he'll try to stap some Hamponites in the back, but they don't really care cause they think he's just as big of a joke than we do.... Hey king, nobody likes you. You're useless. So why don't you go jump in front of a train or something... I don't think anyone will miss you.

    7. John Taylor- Very good player for Unaka back in the 70's good scorer good defender played hard and was a good defensive player as well.

Thats not Big John is it? I thought he played in the 60's...

Also, wasn't Denny Ensor (Donald and Johny's dad) a very good player as well.

  6. QUOTE(Breakem23 @ Feb 15 2007 - 11:57 PM) 826373962

    1. 23-0 in the past two year in district play, the closest margin being 17pts this year

South Pitt, RH, Whitwell, Sale Creek, and Lookout Valley... Whoooo! Running the gantlet in that disrtict.

  7. QUOTE(Breakem23 @ Feb 15 2007 - 11:33 PM) 826373910

    Wins over:

He should finish the same in Coach of the Year just like his team finished in 3rd place

You are about retarded. The award is called "Coach of the Year". Not "Coach of the Conferance Champions." Why should Arts and Science's coach get it. He coaches a magnent school almost twice the size of the next biggest school in the district... Its not like he had to actually coach much either. A monkey with a clipboard could coach that team and win that district.

  8. QUOTE(Breakem23 @ Feb 15 2007 - 11:13 PM) 826373847

And what exactly did he do for RH that would grant a Coach of the Year award? Lets see according to the Coacht website:

    1. 17-10 record

    2. 5-5 in district play

    3. loses to the 4th seed and 5th seed in the tournament in the regular season

    4. lost to the number one seed in the tournament twice for a total point differential of 71pts

Stellar Resume for Coach of the Year, seems to be the obvious vote to me

    1. Probably not even 50 boys in the entire school to pick from

    2. Team probably hasn't had a winning record (overall or district)... ever

    3. Was picked to finish dead last

    4. South Pitt lost to number 1 team twice by a total of almost 60 points

    5. Beat #2 seed

Looks like staller coach of the year resume for me too.

  9. QUOTE(kuriousgeorge @ Feb 15 2007 - 10:24 PM) 826373720

Sure there were, as a matter of fact, Snavely's son played for the first team that Coach Ensor ever took to a sub-state. Don't forget the long-time driver for the Rangers "Big John" Taylor, a great player who put on a maroon uniform.

Here are some others that come to mind before Aaron...

Michael Burrow... Very comparable to Aaron as far as skill level

Chris Wilson.... One of the best point guards to come through Unaka

Jamie Blevins.... Quite possibly the hardest playing forward in recent years

John Minton.... A great shooter who played for four years

David Scott... A transfer who could play from all positions on the floor

It is arguable that none of these players were quite the player that Aaron was, but all of them contributed to the long run of conference titles. Best of luck to the Rangers again this season. A whole new season begins tomorrow and I look for them to make some noise. Good luck, guys.

Eddie Holly was one of the best player in Carter County history.

  10. QUOTE(rangerparent @ Feb 15 2007 - 07:49 PM) 826373496

You are really in a state of confusion arn't you. I don't think you have been to a game this year. Yes he was a great coach in that time. That time is long gone. He is a good man and I aploud his handling of the 2 senior players he kicked off the team after Christmas. I do wish it had been done at the 1st of the year or even last year. I cannot recall who the other 2 were for disiplinary reasons. Buy your count that leaves 5 players that don't add up. The last game I counted 8 players on the bench. I did not count the freshman they moved up a couple weeks ago. As for your second point Roper has not had the opertunity to show his ability because of the possition he has been forced to play. Roper is a great 3 point shot but he is also pretty darn good underneath I have not seen him under the goal much this year. 3 pointers are great but they will not win games consistantly, you have to have a inside game. We have not had one this year.

There are only 7 left of the original 12 they had to start the year. 2 kicked off, 1 quit, and 2 due to injuries. They've brought up 4, one being Frankie... And no matter how anyone feels about the coaching staff and/or players, you have to agree that he has been a pleasant surprise. He runs the point pretty darn good considering he's a freshman that wasn't even on the original varsity roster.

I will make a prediction that Unaka will win on friday against North Green. I beleive the loss to happy valley has given them something to play for. If Snavley will coach them in a possitive way, they can beat UH on sat. They almost beat them in the 1st meeting this year. If unaka wins this week end look out big blue alliance. I will also appoligize to the coaches if that happens. For I am a true ranger fan and have been for longer than most of you kids have been on this earth.

True, but in that first meeting, Unaka had Lewis and Grindstaff. And although sometimes a destraction to the team, when thos two played like they could, they were good ball players. And I might be wrong, but Grindstaff is the one that kept them in that game. Now I'm not saying they won't win, its just that Unaka is a diferant ball club than it was in that first meeting

  12. QUOTE(Dawgfan88 @ Feb 15 2007 - 06:00 PM) 826373397

Excellent post. I didn't forget the others, I was only replying to the utterly stupid statement that was made in the original post. There has been no shortage of phenomenal players at HHS over the years, and now the talent seems tobe going in an upswing once more. All I can say is, 'Bout Time! Maybe we can get the winning going again like it used to be. I know these things go in cycles, so jopefully we can look forward to better times for HHS basketball.

Not to tak anything away from Willie Malone, he was a great player, but he wasn't the MVP in 1960.

  13. QUOTE(byrd62 @ Feb 14 2007 - 03:50 PM) 826371820

You sound as if you might be a little concern. You must be from unaka

Why don't you just go and struggle to beat North Greene a few more times. And get beat by Washburn

  14. QUOTE(Landshark @ Feb 14 2007 - 03:11 PM) 826371757

You are IGNORANT and STUPID! You have no idea what you are talking about. Number one there is NO talent on this team. The two seniors are role players and they did not make enough shots ti beat HV. Number two- the program has been at the top for a long time and this was all started by Coach Snavely and was taken to the next level by Coach Ensor. It is impossible to do good every year, the talent is just down. Get a clue Retard.

No. YOU are acting like the ignorant one. Roper and Church role players? They're two of the best shooters in the area. This team has some talent. They just don't want to use it... And the fans are entitled to be ticked off they want to be. Getting beat by a team as bad as Happy Valley is inexcusable. Its embaressing.

  15. QUOTE(THE KING @ Feb 14 2007 - 11:20 AM) 826371416

I'm surprised you are still around! Especially, since Unaka is the ultimate embarrassment in basketball and still is in football. You've got to remember that eventhough you beat a very down Cloudland team last year, the Ranger football program is far from being considered a power. Especially after the thrashing from Hampton, a member of the Big Blue Alliance. Since you lost to Hampton, you may as well lost to Cloudland too. The Rangers couldn't even defend their home field against Hampton or Cosby for that matter. Remember one year can make a difference. We've got athletes that are swarming into the school like an F5 tornado. Real soon, Unaka will be the victims of countless beatings. I'm talking 72-13 beatings. You've got nothing but troublemakers coming into your programs. The Big Blue Alliance is dedicated to keeping the Rangers on the bottom, and if I was you, I wouldn't brag about baseball either. You played jv when you were a senior. You wouldn't even have made the varsity at Cloudand. Unaka basketball has been swept under the rug by Carter County. Whooooooooo!!

Why wouldn't I be around? I'm not a fair weather fan like you are... Maybe Jellico should replace Cloudland in the "Big Blue Allience"
