after moving from middle tennessee to east to attend college, i went from great 5-a football to great 4-a football. i use to hear how good riverdale is, and now all i hear is how great maryville is. so, just for fun, who do you think would win in a game against riverdale and maryville? Some fun stats, riverdale has been to the state championship 5 years in a row and maryville (well 2 years ago got put out in the semis but have been a bunch). maryville has a combined record or state championships and/or runner ups at 11. riverdale has 9. riverdale, since 93, has been to state 9 times, they have only won 4 state titles. maryville has won eight, although i dont know the span of years.

listen everyone, it's been said more than once to me this year that the Franklin boys can beat the Bradley boys this year. It is said that Franklin will win the state duals this year. Franklin is an awesome team who dominates, but do they have what it takes to take out bradley? Is franklin the best team in the state? what are your thoughts on this.

hamm, sorry i wasnt there at the tournament. i decided to retire from the sport. it is definitely nothing like high school. i hated it. the only thing fun was the matches. i wrestled the 125 from bethel college in south bend, indiana. the team got third last year in ncwa, and i can see why. The 125 was a team captain, and he killed me. he teched me 20 to 5 with about 20 seconds left in the third. ive only been teched once in my life, and that was ole warfield. he wasnt as good as warfield, but he was decent. i was tired so he kept letting me up and taking me down to tech me on purpose. warfield didnt try to tech me on purpose, he did it by accident. Thats not the reason i quit though, if anything the match made me want to stay. It took me back to the ole days in high school. but unfortunately i decided to quit because it wasnt fun anymore. but oh well. n e wayz hamm congrats on winning the tournament. i know thats awesome that you finally won it. and you beat a really good wrestler to. the guy you beat from maryville got third in 4a in georgia. so it seems your gonna have a good season this year. good luck to you and keep up with the posts, i enjoy hearing the info.

hamm, thx for comments. thats sweet that warfield is wrestling again. he is gonna KILL me. oh well, yea i cant wait for the college wrestling season to begin. college is a lot harder than high school. as for who beat me last year in the region tournament, the seventh seed lebanon guy named martin varela and then an unranked guy from tullahoma named rene karton (spelling). i still am haunted about how i didnt make it to state, but at least my career isnt over.

hey sundancer, shutup man! your an idiot! duh i know i couldnt beat warfield, he teched me out my junior year. but look at one thing, i did go undefeated in the regular season, and my overall 3 year record was 61 and 18. thats pretty darn good and not to mention ive only been pinned three times and that was my first year. yes i messed up at regions and got beat by an unranked guy, but my stats should show i am worthy of at least a little credit. plus it got me recruited by maryville college so ha, and im the starting 125. so i dont care what u think.

brian dedmon, yes i remember. those 2 days will stay with me for life. but n e wayz i havent started wrestling yet cause i have cross country. i have been to a few practices and let me tell you, enjoy ur high school wrestling cause college is a ton harder. the competition is tough, and i'm gonna get killed. i am starting at 125, which is sweet. our team is gonna be awesome. we have 3 returners that got 8th or better at nationals last year, a georgia state champ, and a guy who got 6th at state last year. so id say we are gonna be good. n e wayz thats great ur at 119 again, it seems to be an easy class again this year. it is gonna be young. it lost a bunch of seniors, and who knows who will win now that warfield is gone. oh well, i will be keeping up with u guys throughout the seaon, so good luck!

although im at maryville college wrestling now, i still gotta have my input. if some of you remember me from last year, i was the lincoln county's 119 who went undefeated in the regular season (21 and 0). i was seeded number 2 in the tourney and screwed up and didnt make it to state. tanner and creighton did, and i beat them both in the regular season. enough bout me though, to 119. this is gonna be a easy class this year to. last year was incredibly easy, except for warfield. now that he's gone, i think Jacob Creighton from page should come in at least the top 3. he was the hardest match i had last year. i beat him decently, but hes back and a junior. region 5 lost a lot of 119's last year. tanner from lavergne (hes wrestling at cumberland college), patford from marshall county, warfield from franklin, me from lincoln county, varela from lebanon to name a few. 119 looks to be a fairly easy class with new fresh faces. IT could be anybody's this year (warfield won it 3 years in a row), but im sure franklin will be in the top 4 somewhere. good luck to all the 119's in region 5 and ill be keeping up with ya'll.

i currently go to maryville college and wrestle here. i am the 125. if people dont remember im from lincoln county. i was recruited to come here last year. yes maryville has wrestling and has an awesome team. we have 3 guys who got 8th or better last year at nationals. not to mention a georgia state champ and a guy who placed 6th at state last year (the state champ beat him). maryville has a full squad and is looking to do great this year.

duh, dont u think i know that. they are offering me an academic scholarship, dont u think i knew that. cmon people think. cmon gerry , give me some credit i already knew that. the coach wants me to wrestle next year.

hey coach miller, thank one of your wrestlers who checked one me when your 119 beat me 14 to 12. he was a nice guy. i was the lincoln county 119. oh and tell ur 119 good match, he was only my second loss of the season, i went undefeated my regular season and pinned creighton and tanner but just wrestled awful at this tourney. my season ended at 22 and 2.

i lost my match 6 to 4 and then lost to a tullahoma kid who was unranked. man that stinks, i went 21 and 0 and lost at regions. now my season ends 22 and 2. i just fell apart and wrestled awful this tourney.

hey thanks guys, are u guys 4 real, did he really swing at creighton? man thats wild. why did he? oh well, hey thanks dedmon, for a smyrna guy ur pretty cool. yea it did stink, i just couldnt believe i lost to varela then to that tullahoma kid. i would have rather went the season with a bunch of loses than to go undefeated then just completely stink when it counted. i completely fell apart. i am still amazed that i lost, but at least u guys are going. good luck to u guys and dedmon u have a bright future ahead of u. and dont worry i might be wrestling at maryville in college next year if they give me a big enough scholarship. oh well, my overall record for my 3 year career at lincoln county was 61 wins and 18 loses. i was only pinned 3 times (once by cody cleveland, kurt mulligan, and eric pafford my first year). i went 2 years without gettin pinned and this year i was the first lincoln county wrestler to go undefeated in the regular season. ive contributed 353 points to my team in 3 years and costs them 69. my career sounds good but alas i never went to state. the closest i have ever came was the quarterfinals in the consolation round. man, that just stinks. also our paperdude took a picture of me and our 112 after we got put out (i was ballin and he came and interviewed me, what a jerk). i sure hope he doesnt put that picture in the paper. but i will be keepin up with u guys and good luck at state tanner and the rest, and to u dedmon, ill be keepin up with ur wrestlin these next few years so good luck. hey tanner tell me if u do get that scholarship to cumberland or not. well good luck all!!!!

congrats to all the people who placed. hey tanner, seen you beat the tullahoma kid in 1:17, nice and creighton came back and got ya, but hey 4 time state qualifier not too bad. man that stinks for me my senior year and didnt go to state, seeded second with an undefeated regular season but i guess i just coundnt finish it up. it really stinks!!!! but oh well tell all the 119's good luck for me.
