  1. There that old fashioned Smokey Bear confidence again. Great win for Gut and the boys, I was listening to the game, when they said we were going for it I knew we would get it. This is a win we can look back to for a long time. No matter how the game was going it still took Gut guts to go for it. We did blow a 14 point 4th quarter lead after all, and he still had the confidence to win it. I love it. Go Patriots, this was a huuuge win and its the first step in getting the program where it needs to be.
  2. haha Thats good ol' fashioned Smokey Bear confidence right there. Always tough to play in Seviers County, regardless of the sport. I think the boys can do it, they pulled out a tough one in Happy Town last week. We need to break that streak the Fightin Partons have against us right now. GO PATRIOTS!
  3. Good luck to both teams, hope the game is injury free. GO PATRIOTS! GO VOLS!
  4. A) Last time I checked Science Hill was in Johnson City, so what Waco said was the truth. 2) Waco is a DB fan, it was a joke, and a successful one. "Down there", haha that kills me. Separated by a small stretch of I-81 but Washington County is that much different that Jefferson County. Sure.
  5. Haven't heard that. McFall is going through a lot of adversity right now off the field, he has shown a lot to play tough like he has. I wish him and his family the best, I know they are proud of him. I got to watch the second half of the Cocke Co. game the other night, looked like the boys played hard and it would have been domination if we hung onto the ball. Gotta cut down on the turnovers. Proud of the boys and Coach Gut, he sounded like a leader on the TV.
  6. Whaaaat? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Hope this isnt true, good luck to both teams tonight. GO PATRIOTS!
  7. It must have been less than 356, from tssaa.org... Most Rushing Yards in a Game - Individual 477 Jack Keisling Livingston Academy vs. Gordonsville 1948 439 Demetrius Bracey Union City vs. West Carroll October 27, 2006 427 Chad Jordan Bruceton Central vs. South Fulton September 15, 2006 402 Ryan Helton Claiborne vs. Pigeon Forge October 26, 2006 401 John Harlin Battle Ground Academy vs. Pope John Paul II October 3, 2003 382 Terrence Holt Maplewood vs. Tullahoma September 15, 2005 362 Andre Flowers Dyer County vs. Obion County September 15, 2006 359 Blake Foster Ooltewah vs. Chattanooga Central September 13, 2002 357 Antone Cunningham Gibson County vs. Obion County September 9, 2005 354 Aaron Cothran Fairview vs. Harpeth October 18, 2002 Bolded for emphasis, because an over achieving JCHS defense shut him down in the 2002. Glory Days.
  8. Ol Bubba, he is one the fastest white boys I know, good guy too. That game may have had the most combined talent that this rivalry has ever seen.
  9. I know what you mean, I'm just giving the Coaching staff the benefit of the doubt. I really believe that Brimer Jr. would raise sugar cane if he felt like his troupes weren't getting enough touches. But I could be completely wrong, its happened before. As far as the most memorable CC/JCHS clash, I'm sure D. Reese and some others might remember this one. I would have to say circa 2000/1999 not really sure which one, but it was at Dumplin Valley. The CC player ran the ball out of bounds into the JCHS sideline. A fracas broke out, next thing you know my boy Dusty France comes over the top with his helmet in hand, upside the CC players head. Cost him a fews game that season, pretty wild stuff. Not necessarily the best moment from the rivalry but a memorable one.
  10. Yeah well they will let anybody in the press box (Luke James). I'd like to see it soon, Brimer Jr. is the fastest Ginger kid I've ever seen. I think it would be great to have him and Gut get these boys back to state a couple times over the next 25 years. Now if we could get Ricky back in town to coach the runnin backs...
  11. What I mean is I'd rather see us run/pass 95/5% than try to air it out like some people want and just not have any success. I have full confidence that Gut knows these boys better than anyone that posts on a website, and he and Big Brimer call the plays that they know the boys can execute. If Zach could hit Stepp on a go route every other down, don't you think they would call the play? It's not Brimer being conservative or anything like that. We do what we are best at, and it has been working pretty good. Like somebody said, you take away some of our big mistakes and we could be undefeated.
  12. Yeah I knew you didn't and I wasn't trying to make it seem like you were bashing him. I just try and keep it positive when a kid gets brought up. Alex is a model Tennessean and a great Patriot in every since of the word. I graduated with him and never let a chance go by to get a jab in on him. With that said, he couldn't catch a crippled grasshopper. I have to applaud Gut for sticking to his guns. I'm like you, I think if we had to we could have a great passing attack. I just think that Gut, as well as the boys, have confidence in our running game and they are dedicated to making it work. Brimer Jr. has done a good job in his time on the coaching staff, I would like to see him take over his dad's spot soon, in all seriousness. Brimer Jr. would have an X-Box and a TV hooked up in the press box playing NCAA Football and calling plays based on what works on there. That would be interesting. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  13. A big part of me hopes that Coach Gut has a dip in during the game. Even though some would view this as a possible bad influence on the kids, I think it would be great for the team. I agree with your insight on the WR situation, I've said the same thing in previous threads. It's not just a deep threat we need, we need that 15-20 yard post to be there when we need it. Stepp is a good kid and a hard worker, any short comings he may have aren't because of lack of effort thats for sure. I think we could use a TE in the future years. If you look at Alex "Hands of Stone" Clamon he was open a lot during the Meadows Wing T years, never caught anything but he was open. I think a TE up the middle would fit into the ol Veer Gut formation down the line. Sounds like CC is down this year, always good to meet up with our brothers from the County of Cocke.
  14. Not disagreeing with you or agreeing with you, because I wasn't at the game, but that report sounds a lot like a Tennessee fan on a call in show. Like I said earlier no one complains about the play calling when it works. With that said you are probably right, we just don't have a Tyler Brown type guy at wide out that can take pressure off the running game. Again, not trying to take anything away from anybody I know this years group of boys has tremendous heart and a fair amount of talent. I know Gut and the boys are giving it their all everyday and every game. I still proud of the boys, there aren't many teams that could jump out and hit somebody like DB in the mouth. It doesn't sound like we were intimidated by the Maroon mystique. Lastly hats off to the DB boys, no matter how some of the maroons on here panicked and kept talking about so many things that didn't matter, it takes a lot to come back from 14 down when you are already in the middle of a tough season. I hope my boys get another shot at DB later this year, Jeff Co is 2-1 all time in the playoffs against DB.
  15. Sounds like it was a tough night for the Dumplin Valley boys. Ill comment further when I hear a good report on what happened. Just wanna tell the boys keep their head up, season aint over yet. I didn't think this thread could get any more off subject, but at least its funny.
