    Milan Rolls

And a scrapboard pressbox with two, yellow, 60 Wt. light bulbs in it. Take provisions Milan fans; you'll need them.
  3. Fairview looked flat out of the gate tonight. I think they must be a better team than they showed tonight. The blocked punt/score in the first really hurt them. I think Fairview has a fine program and their fans were some of the nicest people I have seen all year. Thanks, Fairview for the hospitality.
  4. Dwolford, you called it from a neutral view. Lions looked good. Are you with Riverside?
  5. This is a plea from a huge Camden fan. Camden fans, please stay off this until after the game Friday. Once a thread has turned ugly, there's no use to keep posting. This one has been turned ugly by the same guys that have been posting against us all year. From now until Friday at 7:00, Camden posts can only hurt Camden.
  6. I'll go with W. Carroll in this game, by 7. In Atwood. How did Milan "but in" on this thread anyway? W. Carroll has the best record in Carroll or Gibson Co. I'd like for Camden to scrimmage Milan again, in the playoffs.
  7. I'll go with Westview by the hair of their chinny chinny chin over the BadDawgs from Milan, 14-13.
  8. I'll help you catfish-cbarkley. Depending on where you live in the middle tn region, get on 70 around Dickson and stay on 70 until you get to Huntingdon. If you took 79 from Clarksville to Paris, you'd have to take 77 from Paris to H'don. Hwy. 77 from Paris to Huntingdon is a bad road for someone not used to the area. It has some nasty curves in it like my mother-in-law.

    U T Martin

If I were the coach at UTM, I'd try to recruit the best players from the best teams in the region, all the way from Memphis to Nashville. I'd take a couple from Milan, Huntingdon, Camden, Westview, Union City, Fairview, Humboldt, South Side, etc. Then the parents and grandparents could go to Friday night high school football to watch jr. and go see big brother on Sat. at UTM. UTM might just start winning and having a bunch of fans. Is this a stupid idea or would it work West TN fans? I can only remember a couple of winning teams down at Martin, and they have so much potential in their backyard.
  10. It had to have been the chops! It's the Shaft and Beaz show! Turn out the lights Lebanon; the boys are back in town. I'll bring Smitty cause he doesn't know how to get there. Plus we can stop and eat about 4 times on the way. PJ
  11. Our town's not that big but we'll bring the whole town. I'll be the Black guy in Carharts, a Dixie Outfitters T, a cammo jacket, and a F-350 with a Ducks Unlimited sticker.
  12. Both Fairview and Camden have come a long way. I hate to see either one of them get knocked out of the playoffs this week. I could tell Fairview was on the upswing big time last year when I went up on a Thursday nite and saw them in a homestand against the Cheatham Co. Cubs. I could really tell Camden had improved when they had the near miss last year in round one at Lewis Co. 12-13. All that's in the past now and four teams are left from my favorite two regions. The numbers one and two out of each region. All four towns should be very proud of their fine teams and coaching staffs. After Friday night there will be two teams standing from the two regions. Will we have one from each region, or two from 5AA, or two from 6AA?
  13. I hope you are not on someone's payroll sitting around wasting time like this; and I know you're not in college.
  14. Sounds like each region has a case for their region being the best. However, I think all the 2A schools best represent the small towns across the state. There seems to be more county seats and county high schools represented in this classification. Or maybe that's just my opinion because my team has always been 2A.
  15. Chan.. 7 Jackson News had 38-13.
  16. TSSAA Scoreboard has the McKenzie-Cheatham Co. score wrong. Does anyone have the correct score yet? And what about Dresden?
  17. Camden Time Line Nov. 2003 6-4 Camden team backs in the playoffs, travels to Lewis Co. only to lose 12-13 on a late play. May, 2004 Camden team graduates hand full and sends 5 to small colleges throughout TN. August, 2004 Camden team wins scrimmages against Trenton, Milan, and Union City. (Of the three, Union City gives them, by far, the best game.) August, 2004 Camden wins Huntingdon Jamboree against West Carroll, 14-0. West Carroll goes on to become their region champion at 9-1, as they sport the best record in Carroll Co. August-Oct. Camden goes 9-1 in the regular season, loses a tight game to Huntingdon, and has only two other games that were close, McKenzie (very close) and Dresden (somewhat close). Nov. 2004 Camden hosts Lewis Co. a good team with a great coach that has gone 6-4 in one of the best 2A regions in the state. So, since the Lions lost the heart breaker to Lewis Co. 12-13, they have been on the football field with 14 other teams and lost one, very close game. But they have won 13 contests out of the last 14. I know scrimmages and jamborees don't count, but they do to coaches and players. I'm just a fan but I feel good about our Friday Night Lions playing at home against a fine team from Lewis Co. There will be somebody to say something smart about my post, and that's o.k. My team is is good shape and I feel good going into the playoffs. Camden by 21 over Lewis Co. This is my only post on this subject until after the game.
  18. I think SD should seriously consider getting Swafford back. He was the best coach we've had in recent years. The kids bought into his program and he believed in the kids. I don't know if he would consider coming back here, but we should try. He can have them in a race for the 4A State Title next year.
  19. This Camden-Bruceton rivalry is a strange bird. There's something about Bruceton. We love to hate them when we play them and then pull for them in the playoffs. Usually we go to Bruceton to watch them play after Camden gets knocked out. I guess it is because they are Single A. I don't know. Anyway, Go Tigers! I guess. And there are several fans in Camden that think O. Willis is a great young man. We hope you upset the alphabet schools and keep on deep into the playoffs.
  20. Last year in Round 1 Region 6 lost one game to Region 5. Camden Central lost to Lewis Co. 12 to 13. Huntingdon, McKenzie, and Chester Co. all won their first rounds last year. This year I look for Camden and Huntingdon to advance. I think the McKenzie/Cheatham Co. game will be the best game of the opening round. McKenzie is about three plays away from being 8-2. (The Region 5 championship game last week is going to loom big in the playoffs. It gave Fairview a huge advantage.) I wish Adamsville well but I think Fairview will advance easily. I'll say Region Six will go 2-2 in the first round or 3-1 if the McRebels can stop up a few holes on defense. (They have enough offense.) This is in no way any disrespect to any of the fine programs in Region Five. It is only my opinion of what will happen in the first round. When you get to the playoffs, anything can happen. That is what's so great about TN high school football.
  21. And best wishes to the Stangs!
  22. You're right. Hope to see "your" team in round three.
  23. Your Mustaingsixtynine started the Camden talk, and thanks for the history lesson. I always like to sit back and hear how great Huntingdon is. You need to work on your crime rate over there a little, and make it a better place to live to go along with your great football program.
  24. Fact: When double M retires to his home in Camden, you'll see what infighting is. None of the rest of you can hold it together like he has. P.S. West Carroll still has the best record in Carroll Co.
  25. Say what you want about Lewis Co. being "down" or "young." They command a tremendous amount of respect here on the west side of the river year in and year out. There are hundreds of programs that would love to be 6-4 in a "down" year. Wouldn't the Lewis Co. coach be considered the dean of coaches in 5AA? Has there been anyone over there with a longer tenure at the top?
