  1. Hey you Warriors! Don't let anyone intimidate you! You just go out and play the game that you know you're capable of playing. You can do this! WIN THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, RIVERDALE! GO, WARRIORS!!!!
  2. I just want to wish Riverdale good luck! Be sure to take that big gold football home with you tomorrow. I know you can do it! If Lincoln County can't have it, we want you to win. GOOD LUCK WARRIORS!!!!!
  3. I bet both of these guys would give up their trophies if it meant they could be playing in Murfreesboro this weekend. Yep, that's the kind of guys they are. That's another reason that they deserve these awards. But...we can't cry over spilt milk. We're happy for Lamar and Michael and for the whole team who helped them get this. Our team gave us a lot of excitement throughout the year and we're grateful for that. Right now, though, we're celebrating the fact that we have two new Mr. Footballs at Lincoln County High. Congratulations, guys!
  4. And since this is the thread about Michael.... he just won Mr. Football 5A Back of the Year! Congratulations to YOU, Michael!
  5. He just won Mr. Football 5A Lineman of the Year! Congratulations, Lamar!
  6. Congratulations to all of the winners and nominees! Also, to those of you who weren't nominated, you deserve a big hats off, too. It takes a lot of time, trouble, blood, sweat and tears to play this game. I say you are ALL winners and so are we for getting to watch you play all year. Thanks. A special congratulations goes out to two very special guys from Lincoln County. Thanks for a great season to you and your teammates. Lamar Divens, 5A Lineman of the Year Michael Edmiston, 5A Back of the Year
  7. Hey, please don't bring down the guys that have won. It's not their fault that they were chosen. Obviously, someone thought they were worthy of the honor or they wouldn't even be in the race. Remember, these are high school kids. Their feelings and confidence can be affected by what you say. Let's give them their moments of glory and don't taint it by your rudeness. There are MANY great players in the state of Tennessee who haven't been able to enjoy this honor. This doesn't mean that they aren't worthy, either. Any time someone is singled out, there will be people who don't agree. At the same time, there are many who do. I think we just need to remember that all of the players have made great sacrifices, worked long hours, have poured their hearts and souls into a game that they love. Congratulations to all of the winners! Actually, every guy who suited up this year is a winner, as are we who have had the privilege of watching them play. Thanks guys!
  8. I've written it in other threads, but I'll reiterate. If Lincoln County can't bring home the gold, then I vote for Riverdale. They certainly won my respect when they played my Falcons at The Pit. We've seen you Warriors come onto the field with fire in your eyes and desire in your hearts to post a W in your column. Keep those feelings alive and... DO IT AGAIN WARRIORS!!!! The next headline I want to see is: RIVERDALE WARRIORS, STATE CHAMPIONS!
  9. Congratulations, Riverdale! Those of us in Lincoln County are behind you ALL THE WAY TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP! We think that that big gold football deserves to have a home in Middle Tennessee. After beating the Falcons, you certainly deserve to have it. Play like we know you can! Good luck, Warriors!
  10. Don't discount the factor that Riverdale is coming off an incredible win. They just beat the undefeated Lincoln County Falcons with a deliberate and very precisely excuted game plan. And if you think playing at home is a factor, you might better rethink that one--they beat us at "The Pit", our home field with a record crowd. I haven't seen OR, but I pick Riverdale for their ability to read plays, adjust and their determination. You Warriors came "loaded"! Good luck Riverdale! Hope you make it all the way!
  11. I just wanted y'all to see a post on another thread: QUOTE (region4fan @ Nov 22 - 04:29 PM) I am really sorry for the Falcons and especially sad for the wonderful Falcon fans that I have come to love and look forward to hearing from on Coacht. No one can ever take away the facts that you guys had the only undefeated season in 5A in 2003. No one can take away the fact that you broke Riverdale's home winning streak at Tomahawk. No one can take the fact away that you beat ALL the Boro schools in the regular season! No one can can take away that you have not one, but two Mr Football Nominees. No one can take away the number of fans that packed your stadium and opponents stadiums to cheer you on. No one can take away the admiration that fans from other schools have for you and your breath-taking talent and big plays. Right now you are hurting. Everyone knows that......but later......enjoy those fabulous memories. I know that I will never forget those fabulous Falcons of 2003, led by the ELUSIVE Michael Edmiston. You gave Kelly Holcomb a run for his money and title! GOD Bless all of you in Fayetteville! Region4fan, thanks for all of the kind and thoughtful words here. We are sad, but we do have many wonderful things to remember about the 2003 season. Our guys played with such heart and gave us such thrills all season. We as fans owe so much to our players, coaches, announcers, statmen, administration, teachers and families of the players. It was a great time to bring the community together in a positive fashion and enjoy good, wholesome entertainment. All of you have given us something to talk about for a long time. I, too, will miss the friendships made here on CoachT. Isn't it funny how we feel that we know each other just because we've read each other's posts? It's been fun trying to guess who the Falcon posters are and to eventually figure out a few of you. Thanks, CoachT, for giving us a place to come to share ideas and thoughts and to relieve some of the tension and excitement of the week. Hopefully, we as posters have given our guys a glimpse of healthy competition. It's refreshing to see how we can be competitors during the week and then fans of the same team that beat us as they go on in the playoffs. And at the end of the day, we can walk away knowing that we have something good to hold in our hearts. Love ya CoachT friends and all the Falcons! FalconMama

  13. Don't put any negative thoughts into Riverdale about being in someone else's house. We (Lincoln County Fans) thought that playing at "The Pit" would be a huge advantage to us, too. Riverdale showed we can lose at home, so hopefully they will remember that next week. Good luck to you Warriors. We want you to go all the way!
  14. Good luck to the Riverdale Warriors. You played an awesome game against our Lincoln County Falcons last night. I'm pulling for you to win that big gold football at the end of the rainbow. If we can't have it, I hope you take it home. GO WARRIORS!
  15. Thanks for the offer bandit. I just didn't have time to go by today, but appreciate the thought, anyway.
