The boys are in better shape than the girls.  The girls will be competitive if we stay in our same district.  Jacey Stafford is an up and coming freshman next year that can play.  She will start as a freshman. 

Does softball have state rankings like baseball in each class?

Met Coach Hodge last night and chatted with him several minutes.  Even told some stories about when he was in high school and played baseball  when I coached McKenzie. Seem like a very knowledgeable and great guy and look forward to working with him. He said anything we needed for radio we got it. And when we told him that we also did his stats unofficially on Friday nights, a relief came over his face that was noticeable.

More importantly I watched as droves of people lined up to meet him, and he stood there and talked to everyone of them as long as they wanted to talk, and it was apparent talking to the players he was already invested.

I believe we are in very good hands

Unless I miss my guess and he has said it somewhere on here, I don't believe TheCountian is from Huntingdon.  I actually think he is a McKenzie person.

My guess is yes.  Our assistant Coach Emerson wants the girls position I believe.  This coming from watercooler talk and you know how that goes sometimes.

The boys side is not hurting near as bad as the girls side.  The 8th graders coming for the girls will help tremendously if they all play.  Jacey Stafford is really good. The others around her, with the right coach, will be fine once they grow and develop.  I have watched them develop more and more since they were in 6th grade. 

I think they will be separate and one very well could come from outside.  Coach Drew should have his choice.

Correct.  That is the school we are hearing.   He notified his players yesterday at McKenzie he is leaving.

I have made the comment to many people over the years that if Lampkins went somewhere with a stream of talent, he would do very well. His teams are always well prepared, and get after you. He has had spurts over the years at Gleason.  I respect the heck out of him for not chasing the all mighty $$ and being loyal.
