Just throwing it out there but the Cubs never told Samardzjia he couldnt play football and that was after he was already drafted by them. So.... maybe MLB clubs aren't too strict about guys playing 2 sports in high school. If Sonny does get drafted in 2008, he will already have been done with football for several months and into baseball by then. I personally think it would be too hard for him to sit in the bleachers this fall. We can't forget that this kid is a great competitor and what better challenge than to defend a championship title. This is what Sonny Gray thrives on.

How can the defending state champs not be the team to beat? That makes zero sense in every way, shape, form, and whatever else. I don't understand how a regular season 1st place team can overrule a state champ. Also, 'Dale doesn't even have a qb (which is only the most important position in the sport).

He seems pretty happy here in Smyrna. I don't know why he would want to leave a school that has a great shot to repeat this year for a team that doesn't even know who there next QB is.

This is my first time hearing about Wade but I have heard about the riverdale kid at school and how he is a big, strong, fast guy, etc...

So Deion Wade is from Oakland and the other kid is from Riverdale? What position does Wade play and what grade is he in? Also what is the other kid's name?

ok but that is exactly that, FRESHMAN. They were still playing the same kids they played in middle school. None have played QB at the varsity level yet. Just so everybody knows because I don't want this brought up later... I'm not being negative about Riverdale's QB situation because I'm a Smyrna fan. I just find it an interesting competition which I am skeptical of and am voicing my opinion.
