  1. And what does this have to do with informing Hoptown about Alcoa? Ya nothing...Thanks though.
  2. Tom, Tom, Tom.... Did you miss me man? What can I say...Football workouts are gettin me hype... I guess it's time for me to catch back up with you on posts... Or am I still ahead? I ain't looked Anyway, to the football... Alcoa will not lose a region game this year. Alcoa probably has the toughest non-region schedule this year in this area, if anyone disagrees, please put me in my place. Alcoa will give Maryville a run for their money this year. I'm not gonna start the whole goal post tearing down rhetoric that I was spittin' last year, but the Tornadoes will make it closer. No one on this board has any right to put down Dustin Lindsey in any way, and I'm not saying that as a friend and teammate, but merely as a specatator. He is going to play for Tennessee...The BIG ORANGE....Um...Can you say one of the most elite programs in the country? And umm Rockwood people...When you get coaches from Tennessee, Miami, FSU, Penn State, North Carolina, NCST, South Carolina, USC, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, ND, and well pretty much every other college football program out there, walkin through your school....then come and rag on the Alcoa Football Program.
  3. Kyrus Lankster will probably be matched up on Brewer. That should be a pretty good matchup, considering they are both tall and lanky. Kyrus is probably more athletic while Brewer is more than likely smarter w/ the ball. As for Curtis Tate, I would go with Dustin Lindsey, as he is one of our best defenders on the team. He is certainly strong enough to bang, but still has the Alcoa explosiveness to capitalize on every opportunity to get the ball. As for the Marsh Pit, We'll see. All I remember about Maryville's "Student Section" last year is that they just stood there the whole game, excluding 5 or 6 guys who actually yelled. At least the Pit does something. To Heck with the number game, it's all about the effectiveness.
  4. Just wondering, because I know that Lenoir City had a good foul chant, but I couldn't exactly catch it. And Alcoa's Nuts and Bolts, while not original is executed very nicely.
  5. Hey there somedude. I learned a long time ago to not about determination of one team, because more than likely you don't know diddly about the other team. Alcoa is ready, and has been ready for this game, every since conditioning started w/o the footballers. I think that Brandon Warren and Dustin Lyndsey will be ready for tonight. Another forgotten footballer is Richeon Belle. He has already shown some tremendous potential at the PG position this year. Also look for Kyrus Lankster, a very quick defender, and excellent shooter from mid-range. Also, you have Daniel Stubblefield and Justin Ridenour, two very good, solid basketball players, with very different styles. Daniel Stubblefield is a crazy threat from downtown, while Ridenour is a more physical, driving-type 3 guard. There should be a very good matchup tonight, and I expect to see another close game. I don't know about Maryville's D, but I know that Alcoa's is absolutely ferocious. The way that Maryville handles it will be the X factor of the game. Look for the Marsh Pit to also make a difference.
  6. And I must have forgotten that Alcoa has such big 'media outlets' covering us. I mean It's really pathetic that there always has to be excuses when 'your team' isn't the best, or when someone makes you look stupid.
  7. The big thing is, is that we really never let lipscomb in the game. We packed the visitors section, and our old folks were goin buck-wild. Now we have to see if we can get to carry over.
  8. That's pretty odd. I could have sworn, about 3 weeks ago, or even as recently as a week ago, that Alcoa, Rockwood, David Lipscomb, and Goodpasture were all top 5 in the AP State Poll. But then again, I reckon I just don't get it. Haven't exactly heard enough about Huntington to make a comment about the score yet. Any intelligent breakdowns of the team would be appreciated. Go Tornadoes!
  9. I think we should just have a showdown on the Hill and see who the real man is...The little leprechaun, or the true vol fan. thumb
  10. Actually, if you smart enough to know what your talking about, before you post some ridiculous comment, you would notice that BIG ORANGE NATION: WE BLEED ORANGE, is on my posts. However, it seems that you would just like to stir up trouble, so you have fun, I hope your boy's had fun up at Pitt. I am passionate about Alcoa, don't get me wrong, but people just don't get away w/ talkin smack about UT. GO TORNADOES, and GO VOLS
  11. Gov-Man... Why would we drop WB and Heritage? When we win, why would we drop them? That's like deciding not to play Harriman if they weren't in our region.
  12. This is probably the hardest I've ever had to think about an outcome of an Alcoa game. Lipscomb has something special. Something that Alcoa had never seen until last year. I was embarrassed last year when our kids quit. There are two trains of thoughts I have on this game. One of Alcoa losing, and the other of them winning. I really can't decide which one to go with. Alcoa Losing: If Alcoa loses, I believe that it will be mostly related to the fact that we have not had a close game, and that we have not been behind except for the Maryville game. Just like, say Vandy, doesn't know how to win a close game, I don't think that Alcoa will know how to win a close game, because all of ours are either A. Blowouts or B. Down-right Disgraces. There is really no grey area in our W-L ratio. Alcoa Winning: On the other hand, this Alcoa team is truly a team. Everyone depends on each other, at least for the moment, because there are a few ego's gettin out of control. However, the O lifts up the D and vice versa. We have some tremendous weapons, in Fiegler, Warren, Lyndsey, Lanxter, Sommers. Our O-line has been playing better than I personally ever expected. Some of the times, Duck doesn't even have to use his power to get to the whole, it's just that big. The Alcoa defense, led by Brandon Warren, and Rae Sykes on the D-Ends, is solid. Richeon Bell is a lock-down corner. The LB's are a powerful unit. Special teams is probably a 7 out of 10. Fiegler is also a great punter, and Lanxter is extremely defense on Punt/Kick returns. We cannot, and will not kick field goals, and PAT's are basically a flip of a coin. All in all, I reckon I see Alcoa winning by 33-28 Margin.
  13. Alcoa fans have class, but an Alcoa Fan's pride and excitement over sports make that a moot point. Good Luck to Rockwood Next year, and Congrats on this season, excluding 2 games (That's better ain't it?). WAY TO GO BOYS. Alcoa will be ready next weak, at least they better be. GO TORNADOES.
  14. Sounds like a good win to get things started for MHS. Who was the rebel's leading scorer?
  15. Well, Alcoa decided to postpone all games until the end of football, (A projected 3 weeks), because of the upcoming district and region games. They came out and played strong tonight, however, beating Webb in overtime, by 4. Daniel Stubblefield led all scorers w. appx 20-30 , including at least 5 threes, one the go-ahead in regulation. Justin Ridenour had a good game offensively, probably contributing around 15-20. Zach Gerhardt got off to an early start with 2 running jumpers, and ended with 8 I believe, and sealing the deal at the end of the game w/ 2 free throws. Brett Biggar had 9 points, coming from 2 much needed 3-pointers, a jumper, and a free-throw. Jordan "Fort" Ridenour put in 4, coming in at the end with a big layup, off of a dish from a driving Biggar. Also scoring was Brett Bellisle, off the bench, with a offensive put-back for a score. The defense and rebounding was a tremendous improvement from the last game, especially the boxing out, which Alcoa drew 5 over-the-back calls off of. There was also some big steals that helped the win. Nevertheless, Alcoa was sometimes careless with the ball, leading to some big turnovers that almost cost them the game. It seemed like they knew they could win tonight, and that they wanted to win, unlike the other night, where it looked that they didn't think they had the personnel.
  16. That's true, but for the first time in a while that might not be able to be taken for granted this year....then again it might be...Heritage players need to experience winning before they will be able to win. That's what so hard about turning around losing teams.
  17. Ya, I still think that some of the kids need to play harder. I know, and expect, Ridenour and Stubblefield to step up the scoring challenge that lies ahead of them until the FBallers get back.
  18. That's very true, and Alcoa's going to be in one heckuva dog fight for district and region this year.
  19. Alcoa is known to have a stingy defense, but I haven't seen it yet this year, and I think that the Alcoa squad is going to have to just accept the fact that this is all they have right now, and just start to play as well as they can with it.
  20. Here is the link to the Alcoa schedule, so you can see when they play the teams. Alcoa Schedule
  21. I dont know about that coolkid....I think that it will be a close game, but I think this time that Alcoa will stay strong all 4 quarters and pull a squeaker out. Alcoa has an unusual role this early in the year, and playing the underdog and I think that they will be able to capitalize from it if they get their game time minds right.
  22. Supposedly Heritage is going to be much improved also. I know Justin Bruce is capable of leading a Vandy like team to a cinderella year. Should be anywhere from a 2-4 team race this year for the champ. but certainly no blowouts.
  23. How does anyone see the game tonight between Alcoa and Webb? I know that Alcoa came out shaky the first game, but more than likely has improved the defensive and rebounding mishaps that occured during the first game. Look for this current team to mold together and become a strong "Team" especially before the Footballers join in.
  24. Well, I agree w/ most of the pollsters about the top 2 teams, and I think it will be a great battle when WB and Alcoa match up. Maryville may be suspect this year, and suprisingly, may be short off the bench. Players to watch: WB- Aaron Eakins Alcoa- Justin Ridenour Daniel Stubblefield Brandon Warren
  25. I have to agree that Catholic looks improved from last year, especially with their PG and overall guard play. However, Alcoa looked strong, w/ Ridenour and Stubby probably combining for about 90% of the points scored. Defense and Rebounding were shaky at times, and Ridenour might have to watch the travels down the road, but overall a very good game for a shorthanded Alcoa team.
