  1. Very good coach and he does a great job, but kind of easy to go 52-4, when 52 of the teams were not "as good, or not better teams". You said it first.
  2. Not sure what "skin color" and number of "black boy playing for them" has to do with it, but yes CPA does recruit. The coaches might not do the recruiting, but if they did not recruit then they would not exist.
  3. It was not as bad as you say it was. Franklin scored the first 3 times they had the ball and the Bulldogs did not. As the scrimmage went on it was not that bad. We have a lot of players out for injuries.
  4. Agree that there are weak and strong districts but what you are calling a DUMB argument calls out exactly what you stated. You said that a 4-6 team should not make the playoffs over a 6-4 team well in your district a not very good Rossview goes 5-5 and makes the playoffs in 6A. They have probably only beaten 5 6A schools since they were a new school TOTAL. How is that fair?? It is not. At least in the old format, the top four went to the playoffs. You knew that you had to finish in top 4. This system allows a team from a sorry district to win 0 6A games and go to the 6A playoffs. It has happened every year. We have had 5-5 and teams not get in because some team wins 6 5A district games in a sorry district like district 10
  5. Bottom line is win and your in but no way someone from your district can say anything about the playoffs and wildcards getting in. Rossview would not win a game in our district and they are able to get into the 6A playoffs as a wildcard because they beat all the 5A competition in Clarksville. No way that is better. Your Henry County team can schedule hard nondistrict games because you can walk through your district. Try making a schedule when you play in a district where all the teams would beat everyone in your district.
  6. DAD you act like only CPA has great kids and great programs that work with mission trips, etc. We have the same type of kids here in Rutherford County. Many of them are going on mission trips and working at orphanages, etc. We just can't come over to CPA's zone and encourage these great kids to transfer here to play sports. You know that CPA and Coach Maddux do this! Do not deny it by hiding behind how great the church and the mission work is. This is why this CPA topics get so overwhelmed with pages. It is an uneven playing field/court that the school's coaches use. Just go to Div II and you would see that most of this would go away. Ensworth tells the truth when they drive their busses over here. We just want CPA to do the same.
  7. Smyrna has Hendersonville May 6 and May 17 at P Cohn. DNJ says Riverdale has Franklin today. What time is that scrimmage if it is still on?
  8. Is that the seat that he was saving for coach Maddux? They both recruit the same way.
  9. Congratulations! You have assembled a champion. Good work.
  10. That is called "mission work".
  11. When family members are given jobs, there is no doubt.
  12. I never ONE TIME said anything about race. You did. You lost all credibility when you said you would be more suspicious of recruiting had he not played for Drew Maddux in AAU. That is his game. Get into the AAU find the best players and get them to come to CPA. I would be really mad if I was one of the parents of kids that pay full price to "play for Coach Maddux". I guess they like getting to sit on the bench of a State Championship team. I guess they like paying full price when the "stars" get work studies and their kids do not. Don't worry, CPA will find the next best 6th grader to replace all of them. Bring them in. Join the church for tuition breaks, and then all the CPA faithful will say they were home grown.
  13. And you see the problem of the T$$AA and CPA. They have worked the "loophole" of recruiting to the MAX. Move him before the 9th grade and he can get FULL financial help as a 8th grader but once he gets into the 9th grade he must no longer be FULL financial aide or he is not able to participate in sports. Maddux and CPA work it to the best. Congrats!
  14. True but sooooooooooo much easier for the likes of a CPA who are doing mission work in Murfreesboro and surrounding areas. Heck they reach all the way to Knoxville! Let's see Lindsey moves from Murfreesboro to Franklin? There is your change of address, so he is legal. Not sure what school he would be "zoned" to over there but it would be free. What did they do get this family to get into an apartment???, Now the family has to "pay for tuition also?? Too many red flags for it all to be on the up and up. On top of that, he played for Coach Maddux during AAU. HUGE RED FLAG. What does it take to get the T$$AA to investigate?
  15. Why would you run from great competition? You have the best starting five assembled (yes put together) in possibly the entire state. We will all continue to say that all we believe is that CPA belongs in Div II. Bending the rules may not be breaking the rules but not sure it fits your "mission statement"
  16. Which part is yes? And DAD if you really knew me, you would not call me a "jerk" but thanks for telling me that i am consistant! That is what I want to be.
  17. Well this sounds like a team that should be in Div II school mission statement or not! As a rutherford county coach, I do not understand how the T$$AA would allow such a total "working around the rules" to apply. Why is he allowed to coach all of them in AAU and then they all of a sudden wind up at CPA? If this was in a court of law the jury would laugh and charge them in about fifteen minutes of discussing. And why does the school allow this "if coach Maddux does not plan to spend his entire career" there? I thought he never spoke about wins and losses and it was about the kids and the mission of helping these young people find the lord??? Bull@@@@! Everytime he shows up on Fox 17 sports, I immediately turn off the channel. This topic would stop if CPA would just admit that working to pay off a debt is financial aide and should only be allowed in Div II. Why do they not want to play in Div II? All we here is how it is the best league in our state, so why not join them? Once again it is about all those W's over an unbalanced playing field and that is the bottome line.
  18. Did CPA not play this past weekend at Lipscomb? Isn't that where the Div. II teams play the state championships? Oh that's right CPA does not offer financial aide. Sorry I got confused knowing that all of those that you mentioned transfered to CPA. Best of luck to the other 7 teams in AA.
  19. I am sure Columbia has coaches working hard, but one thing that has helped Columbia is the T$$AA going to 6 classes. Bottom line! Period! First year after switch they go from whippng child of 5A in the old system to state championship game in 5A new system. Good luck to Spring Hill. I tried to get someone to respond to my resume, but I guess they have someone in mind.
  20. Any word on when they are interviewing? I used to live in Clarksville and would like to get back that way. Would like to be a head coach, but if not I will keep being asst and work hard.
  21. I hope it is. He will see that Stewarts Creek has no "works study" program. When he was beating "a lot of 6A teams with a 3A school", it was not on the same playing field.
  22. Two SEC players on one team in Williamson County. I'd say they are the front runners for the district. We don't have that over here in Rutherford. Are they favored to win district? I guess Indy has lots of people wanting the job then? If not, what is the problem over there?
  23. congratulations to Coach Hester from Smyrna. We remember him at Lavergne. Good luck to him at Ravenwood.
  24. Not sure why anyone would read anything about transfers without asking a question to Drew Maddux and CPA. They have now written the book on how that works.
