  1. Are u referring to Bradley or Riverdale in that post?
  2. Oh, and players in Memphis transfer left and right, especially in boys ball!!
  3. Programs which are successful draw players! Coaches do not need to recruit and often get blamed because a player chooses to play for them! Heck, when my daughter's coach left after her sophomore year, she begged and cried to move to Shelbyville! She stayed at Bradley, played for a great man and coach her last two years and was very successful. However, if Shelbyville had been closer and knowing she could play for a team like that, who knows???? But, it would not have been the fault of Coach Insell, rather the fact that she wanted to play for a state championship team! Why wouldn't a good basketball player in our area want to be a Bearette??? It's the chance to play in the state tourney!!! Congrats to all the Bearettes for an unforgettable season!
  4. Who lost to Blackman in title game? Morristown? It wasn't Bradley.
  5. They can't help that the district is pathetic!! It saddens me that the district has sunk so low, because several years ago it was one of the toughest districts and not far behind Shelbyville's district and Riverdale's! What has happened to our area? If Cumberland is moving down, then BC will have literally no competition in district or region play. That's sad and ridiculous! Is it coaching or lack of talent? Yes, Reuter is a great coach. He was the boy's assistant for many years, including the team that went to state three state years and had a 100-10 record (playing the best competition in TN and surrounding states). He mentored under one of the best men's coaches in Tennessee. Bradley will do fine next year and will probably go undefeated again. I just hope they get through substate next year.
  6. Bradley has had superior coaching over the years. Smiddy was a master coach in the six on six days. Cretton went to state a couple of times. Jack Harlow, known as one of the best coaches in state, also took teams to state and substate. Brian Glasner took his Bearette squads to substate more than once and is now coaching in middle Tennessee. Now, Reuter is continuing the tradition. Bradley has a tradition of winning although no gold balls since the Smiddy era.
  7. That's a crazy idea! Sometimes the best two teams in state come from same district! This year in single A, the eight teams are just from 4 districts! Your best teams should be represented in the state tourney
  8. I agree that Bradley is as good as any team over there except possibly Riverdale! But playing in that district would not have been a cake walk! Give BC credit though! They have beaten Oakland, Blackman and Stewart's Creek over recent years to go to state! Howard is a special player and would make any team competitive at any level.
  9. LOL!! She liked Insell so much she played four years for him at Middle
  10. I am a fan of middle Tennessee basketball. Not only do u have district 7AAA , you have Wilson Centrall, Mt Juliet, Shelbyville, Upperman, Jackson County, and the list goes on and on! When my daughter played at Bradley, they opened the year at Riverdale then came back over for a weekend doubleheader with Mt Juliet and Lebanon then went back to Giles County for a Saturday game. She played AAU in Shelbyville for five years. I value the quality of bal in middle Tennessee. However, ten years ago, our district was competitive. Cleveland, Bradley, McMinn, Cumberland and Walker Valley were all in the same district and could beat each other on any given night! Now the only two of those that can play at all is Cumberland and BC and they are not in the same district anymore! This area is so weak that I can't even go watch it anymore! It is embarrassing that we have dropped so low and it hurts Bradley to play that game in and game out. I wish they could and would schedule the Riverdales and the Oaklands during the season. They may not go undefeated but they would have been ready for that close game tonight. My daughter was asst coach at Oakland for a couple of years and my son dated an Oakland player for three years, so yep, I am a Bradley fan first and foremost but a definite fan of women's basketball in your area.
  11. To those of you who believe Bradley would be 3rd or 4th in the middle Tennessee district--- Here is what I believe! If they went over there and played now, you are probably correct! However, if Bradley played in that district all year long, I have no doubts they would be second in district and region! It kills them playing in this area where girls basketball is so weak! If they played over there with the talent and coaching they have, I believe they would have been seasoned by this point in the year. They are very good, but it is obvious by the loss tonight and the loss to Oak Ridge last season that playing in this area hurts. Would they have a 32-1 record over there? Heck no!! But very few teams in middle Tennessee can go undefeated. But the losses would have made them better. Bradley has two of the best players in the state and a great coach. Don't count them out next year. Playing over here, I predict them playing another substate game where anything can happen. Congrats Bearettes for a great season
  12. I like the blind draw. That way nobody is to blame for matchups. However, I do hate it when teams that have been ranked one and two all season long are thrown together first round.
  13. Central. Coaching and experience wins this one for the Chargerettes.
  14. Hats off to Paige Green as she has the Oak Ridge team back in the state. I do not think that a state tourney trip was anticipated at the beginning of the season. Oak Ridge is very young, and I look for them to be a contender within the next couple of years. Bradley County lost two great coaches when we let Aaron and Paige get away. Good luck to Paige and the Oak Ridge ladies.
