  1. dito, but (devil’s advocate) ...where would the Johnson boys, Brandon Wright and Brett Morrell, etc., be? Would that diminish their accomplishments?
  2. Okay, trophys for duals are one thing (50% Chatt this year), but all of that Indiv. State hardware stays Mostly in West & Middle TN. Should we ease the pain of the majority and go back to swapping out the Individual State venues again?

With him just cutting down for this tournament, I beleive he did an excellent job to win all of his matches. If he stays down, he can adjust and do quite well at 145. His greater challenge to the finals may be at 152 than 145.
  4. Fine response to an unnecessary/unkind post.
  5. From what I hear, BC's been cootie free since Turner's and Logsdon's girls began playing there.
  6. Who allowed this??? Baylor Outlasts Bradley Central In Overtime February 4, 2006 Wouldn't it be nice to see more of this? What policies are in force? Does the AD call the shots? Maybe now that BC has established itself as a legit power, perhaps we can see more headlines between them and D2's... going both ways of course Baylor took a 3-point win over Bradley Central on Saturday night, but it took overtime to do it. Baylor boys won 70-67. The Baylor girls basketball team lost 82-21 to perennial state power Bradley Central Saturday. Both B-ball teams!!! Question: The AD wouldn't have an interest in the Girls team playing the best would he? Maybe Smyrna GIRLS will have a little challenge this season, soon!!
  7. Didn't the Donovan bothers go to Navy or was it West Point?
  8. Yogi up at Sewanee? Prophetic, my friend. Tell Gilinas "hey" way up stairs in Financial aide.
  9. It just hit me that it probably will not be a two horse race with Clarksville in there and if any one is going to score points iin the consol's it would have to be the Owls. This will be fun!!
  10. Good memory, Ross. Jim Morgan sure appreciated what came out of Hixson. Don't forget OW Award to Tom Pop, which Randy B. was also able to earn. Remember the feeder Hixson had? What was it coach Parker (who never wrestled) had in Chattanooga, 200 wins and Zero losses and we would have Baylor come wrestle us in front of the school and we would take all but a couple of weight classes? Each weight class had about 25 wrestlers deep? Those were the days!!!
  11. Well put!! Can't agree more. Congrats to Tyler Ward who just stated this great sport a couple of years ago and wrestled 145 when he could easily wrestle at 135 or 140.
  12. I believe some of the Soddy fans as well. In the next big one, Soddy should win it via Championship rounds for the most part; but BC and Soddy will score significant points in the Consol's too. I give the edge to Soddy in the Traditional IF a couple of their hard hitters step it up, otherwise BC takes it again. Chad Laxton really deserves praise on this last championship. He has been under a lot of pressure and most coming from himself, I believe.
  13. Greg Hopkins of RINGGOLD has lost only once this season to a Parkview kid or someone down your way? Didn't he beat Kelly Felix earlier this year?
  14. Hey Vol, I got two of those now, not last year though How bout you?
  15. Did what you were supposed to do. Nice addition to the tophy case!!
  16. Trust me guys. They do work as hard as anyone I've witnessed over 30 years to get what they get. Bearmom, knows... THEY DO EARN IT!!! I bet she is a driving force behind what happens on the mat too Would you not agree RMC with your "mom thoery?"
  17. I may be wrong on this, but it appears that a fresman at 160/171 is still undefeated @ Ooltewah. Congrats to Jake Young. Side note: I believe jake is the only Tennessee wrestler to beat anohter good one up in H-ville, Brett Jaeckel, still in 8th grade and I believe he was also undefeated this past season.
  18. Lots of hard work and sacrafice fro a very devoted dad I've had the fortune of meeting. We'll continue to see this kid develop. Huge win for him this weekend. Dustin Ortiz and others will have their hands full with him in a couple of weeks
  19. Different from what/whom? 30 years ago? Was I more similar to folks back then? You can't forget Dallas, Harvey Martin, Too Tall Jones, Cliff Harris, Charlie Waters, D.D., Randy White, Roger the Dodger & crew. Of Course Tom Landry!!!!!!!! roaring down the halls. After they canned Landry, I've only followed the 49ers some, but wrestling has taken a front seat since the 90's. Surprised? I know, I'm still just as crazy. You can tell your wife, if you haven't already. Congrats on your CH Eagles and what I'm hearing about the chip off the 'ol block. He may be beating dad's old records. What's his stats so far this season?
  20. She finished the season with a 45-4 record that included 33 pins, one shy of the state single-season record. Hutchison is the third in her family of 10 children to win a state title, joining brothers Zeb and Eli. Her dad must be a driver as well as mom?
  21. Good observation. MBA has a top 3-5 dual team considering all teams this season!!
