  1. I think you are right, that will be a great matchup. Huntingdon has good size and speed, but their shooting has been up and down. Summertown is as solid as any team in the state and their shooting is always solid. If that matchup happens, Huntingdon will need to win it with defense
  2. I know the Dresden girls are foul prone, but West has been coaching a long time, his best player gets her second foul in the first qtr and he doesn’t pull her ?? Second best player gets her second foul right after and doesn’t pull her ?? Cmon !!! I’m not arguing the fact that Stephenson didn’t coach to win, but neither did West and you will never convince me otherwise. Play on both sides was horrendous, which leads me to believe neither coach was coaching to win. The yelling was just an act. I’m not picking sides, both should be embarrassed. And BOTH are to blame.
  3. The first game was an embarrassment, I watched Dresden and Gleason play a few weeks ago and it was a great ballgame. But I see people just blaming Gleason’s coach, from where I was sitting neither coach wanted to win. Dresden best player had 3 fouls in the first quarter, second best player had 3 fouls early in the second qtr (coincidence) ........ and Dresden /Gleason fans weren’t even yelling at the ref ! When’s the last time ANYBODY has seen that. Both teams turning it over like it was their day job, and Gleason best 2 players barely played the 4th qtr. Every time either team would score, their fans BOTH SIDES hardly clapped. Dresden won the game and both sides looked like a funeral. It was AWFUL! But don’t blame the girls, they are just kids, I blame both coaches. Gleason’s catching the brunt of this because they lost but anybody who knows anything about basketball knows neither coach was trying to win. I’d fire both of them.
  4. That’s exactly right, one game at a time!
  5. I just don’t see Gleason throwing a game. I get why you would need to but IMO there is just too much tradition and pride in that small town. They have 3 State Championships, they understand that you have to beat the best or you don’t deserve to be there. I could be wrong but I doubt it.
  6. I agree, but I don’t blame Gleason, you have to try anything to slow down that Greenfield offense, they score in big bunches and they can do it quick. Gleason coach will try to come up with something but it won’t matter. And that’s not a knock on Gleason at all, they are capable of beating anyone that makes it to state, just not Greenfield. I think it’s the Jackets year. Gleason won’t be intimidated, they will scrap as long as they can but Greenfield blows it out in the second half.
  7. We definitely saw the same game, I could have watched that effort and intensity all night! Reminded me of a region tournament game at Gibson Co I think 5 years ago between Bradford and GC. Same intensity and atmosphere, Bradford was the underdog and came out on fire. Gibson never quit and found a way to win. I think it was Morgan Martin senior year. The reason I say this is because those kind of games stick in your mind.
  8. I agree! Those 2 girls played good defense, the post for Bradford uses her frame very well to get position. I also agree about the Bradford Gleason wars of old. Both small towns brought big crowds and made alot of noise for those kids. As a fan it was fun to watch. Bradford shot lights out in this game, it was raining threes at one point. My hat is off to them, I think they played their best game of the season when it matered the most. And to their coach, she had them ready. Happy for the Gleason girls, they’ve been through so much this season with injuries. They never gave up, they could have easily laid down but scratched and clawed back in it. That group is very scrappy, not pretty but they get after it.Now they get the grand prize of playing the best team in the state in the next round. Good luck to everyone!
  9. Just watched Gleason beat top 10 UnionCity tonight by 10. They led the whole game. Gleason and Dresden are the most dangerous unranked single A teams in the state.
  10. I agree with you. Watched Gleason and Dresden play an overtime game Friday night. Both teams can play!!! Packed gym and great atmosphere. Besides Greenfield, there isn’t 5points difference between the next 4 teams in that district. It’s a shame that only 2 teams can advance from that region.
  11. I agree!!! The Miss Basketball award for the most part is a joke anymore. It’s all about who gets the most publicity on social media and not about who is actually the best player.
  12. I really hate to hear that. She has had some bad luck the past 2 seasons. Praying for her and hope for a speedy recovery. GC still wins the district but will definitely make it tougher on them after that without her. Just really hate to hear it
  13. Glad I came to this game, it was better than I thought it was going to be. I thought Gleason handled the press well, Greenfields half court defense is really good. As far as holding the ball for 4 minutes, that’s just as much on the Greenfield coach as it is Gleason’s. All they had to do was guard and Gleason would have played. Either way I don’t like it. I thought Darby had a great game, a couple of blocks and very aggressive under the goal. Lots of points.Thought Atkins had a good game for Gleason, she just doesn’t get enough shots off. Gleason might surprise some people in the tournament. Greenfield should win it all . Great atmosphere in the gym tonight. The boys game was good as well, I got my money’s worth.
  14. And maybe she doesn’t wanna play college ball at all. Maybe she just wants to go to college, join a sorority, etc.... and that would be just fine. But in my opinion the best single A player the last 3 years.Great player!! Definitely Ms Basketball 2yrs in a row
