  4. Dobyns-Bennett killed Sullivan Central. The Cougars looked like they had never played against a team playing defense against them. Numerous walks and carrying the ball were called and several were not called against the Cougars. I guess the Refs felt bad for them.

DB is playing better and better. They do not look like the same team from just a couple of weeks ago. AA, Ashlon Adams and Jordan Edwards inside play is awesome and the Guards are getting them the ball. When the Indians shoot the outside shot like they have been since the Boone game, we can't be beat by any local team.

That was a statement Friday night in the Dome!

    Roll Tribe Roll

Do I detect your still smarting over that loss at Central? Instead of coming on here with a bunch of smart #### remarks, take the blame for the first loss! You played like a bunch of bozo's and deserved to loose! The way I see it, as far as the season goes, it's Central and the "mighty" indians tied with 1 win apeace. Oh, and the "mighty" indians still 3rd in the conference! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> But you know what, it really doesn't matter because the "mighty" indians season will end just like ours will, with a big L. No amount of transfers will change it.

  5. Science Hill got beat by the refs tonight, i am getting sick of going to games and watching refs decide who is going to win and who is going to lose, that is garbage. Im going to stop watching basketball because this regions refs are joke. at least in football you can run over the ref on "accident" on the next play if he makes a bad call. basketball games are rediculas now, there is no way in heck, excuse my french, that science hill should lose to central, no matter how bad they play, the refs decided that game befor it started. this is rediculas and something should be done about it.

The real joke is your post! Some more science hill mentality. The refs were bad both ways, science hill got away with

plenty tonight, but the real thing you should come to grips with is you got beat... live with it! The Pitts era is over, move on.

  6. Blackjack54 I would like to ask you what facts you base this quote on? Nothing against Fox, but in the last few years, how many Area 1 State Championships has he won? How many has Harrison won at Holston? Do you know how many of the 15 players on the Varsity squad at Central are from Blountville? 5 is the answer. The other 10 are from Holston. Harrison won Back to Back Championships with the Junior and Seniors on the team now. So how can you not comment on his coaching ability? Maybe your son didn't make his team one year or better yet, maybe he outplayed you in High School and you still hold a grudge. Anyways Coach Harrison is a great coach and if given a chance at Central he would do a great job there also. Coach Vaughn stil has a few years left and he does have a young team now, but wait until tourney time and see what happens. I'm not saying they'll win the conference tourney or anything but they will surprise some teams. As far as DB and the Hill...... Noone will touch them up here. DB is talented 1-10. Most of which are underclassmen /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" The Hill also has alot of talent. The rest of the big 9 is up for grabs. Central let one slip by last night but hopefully they can build off it.

Well put Futurecougardad about Jarred Harrison. I personally think he should be at Central right now as Tony's assistant. This blackjack doesn't know very much about middle school basketball and even less about cougar basketball.

  7. This schedule was posted on tri-cities sports.com about a week ago: the #7seed Sullivan East plays #8 South Tues. Feb 13 at 6:00 and #6 Boone plays #7 Crockett at 7:45. #2 Science Hill plays the East South winner at 7:30 on Fri. Feb 16 at 7:30. #3 Tn High plays the Boone Crockett winner at 9:15. Volunteer plays Central at 7:45 on Thurs Feb. 15 at 7:45 and the winner plays #1 seed DB at 6:00 on Mon Feb.19 followed by the other semi. The finals are set for Wed Feb. 21 at 7:45 following the 3rd place game at 6:00. Anyway that's what thay had, it may or may not be right.

The District 1 AAA Tournament is being held in Bristol @ Viking Hall this year.

If you know the schedule of who plays who and when this get's started.. please post.

DB is the #1 SEED, SH #2, did TN High end up the 3 seed? If so, that just blows me away. Central and Volunteer both (in my opion) are much better than the Vikings.

DB and Science Hill will for sure be the favorites to make it to the finals, but the Central Cougars have to be considered the Dark Horse. Cenral is a good team led by Hess and they are well coached.

    Thoughts on the Tournament?

  8. QUOTE(Cap1 @ Feb 4 2007 - 04:36 PM) 826358211[/snapback]

You Central people are all in your own world...or should I say Big Top Tent ! Anybody that was at that game knows that Central got most if not all of the calls. In fact there were many times when it looked like it was five on seven out on the court. Wes Baker should have and would have been ejected if we were playing anywhere else. Jeff Baker grabbed his foot to keep Wes from stomping him into the ground. Wes didn't kick Jeff Baker once but at least three times before his own teammates pulled him away. Jeff Baker has an aberration above his eye as a result. My guess is that the refs knew (and talked about in their little meeting in front of the scorers table) that even with all of the deputies that always have to be at any Central home game...doing the right thing (ejecting Wes for his actions) would have probably ended the contest. Centrals students and many parents are out of control and I wouldn't think that it will be tolerated much longer in the Big 9. Ask Erwin...same situation for them. I would have dropped this subject because everyone knows the Circus for the rednecks that they are, so most could read into the post and figure out about what happened. But you had to call me out...oh well.

What a looser! Doesn't matter member 87,602.... You'll be silenced soon. The "mighty" vikes are going nowhere .

  9. Baker just didn't loose his cool over nothing. The Tn high player should have been given a technical as well. The refs were a joke. But I guess Tn high must think they are the just fine. But then again we couldn't throw it in the ocean playing at home , so that's what you get. Tn high is very beatable, just not by us tonight. But they may be another meeting... we'll see.

  10. [

Anybody know what the guy behind the basket said to get thrown out? Whatever he said, it was short, so it must have been powerful. Then I thought he was going to take a swing at the ref on the way out. Get a grip!

Again poor free throw shooting nearly gets us beat. 5-12 (42%)

Don't know what he said but I know who it was.. it was Justin Hess' dad. Probably been a long time coming. He's known to get on the reffs real bad.

  11. Ugly is putting it mildly. We are just plain stinking it up. We play with no emotion desire or heart. I'm not going to use Baker being out as an excuse. If memory serves me East beat us by 31 with Baker. No, our problems go much deeper than that. We've got people who can't hit lay up's and the whole team can't hit a free throw. We went 7-16 last night, that's 44% ... horrible. You can sugercoat it all you want, but unless we get some unity and desire back into this team, the rest of the year is going to be much of the same. And I for one will start enjoying tv reruns on Tuesday and Friday nights. I don't need this. <_<

  12. no it is not a unknown reason, Hess is a scorer and his shot was not falling last night but he has earned the right to play and that is all that there is to it..... DONT START RAGGING ON A KID THAT HAS PLAYED HIS TALE OFF FOR CENTRAL FOR 3 YEARS AND HAS HAD A LOT OF GREAT GAMES AND A BIG PART OF CENTRALS RUN TO THE STATE TOURNAMENT AND THE DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP LAST YEAR... HE IS ALOUD A OFF NIGHT...

You don't quite get my point. Sure anyone can have an off night and sure he's earned the right to play, however at the same time when someone's having a bad night, sitting them down for a few minutes might actually help them regain their composure. I think Vaughn did Hess a disservice by leaving him the whole way. Anyway, thats just my opnion and I'm sticking to it. We'd better come out more focused Tuesday or South will beat us.

  13. A few thoughts about the Science Hill game.. A good effot from us. Being it was our 3rd game and their 8th , experience alone they had the upper hand. I think we battled them pretty much even for 3 quarters. Good game from Baker, he may turn out to be our best player. Hess tries to do a little too much sometimes. He needs to play a little more under control. Way too many turnovers from our guards, but they'll get better. Looks like DB and the hill are in league of their own. Third is definitely is within our reach. Go COUGARS! :thumb:
