    Agreed!

You said earlier us AP voter "fat guys" didn't know anything. Make up your mind. I'm not in favor of any seeding unless a quantitative system is developed that would include out of state opponents. I just want the draw to at least be zoomed to the coaches. I don't have to see it live but they should.

“They limited her to 19 points total”…she is only averaging 16 ppg this season. The main thing was limiting the kick outs and the aggressive physical play. Westview has to limit their turnovers as well. They will come back strong

When I heard the scoring in the post-game the thing that struck me most was Kylie Alexander was scoreless and Jillian Brigance had only 3. Championship teams are built on a "tripod." Take out one leg and things get shaky.

I heard last night if our District sweeps first round of Region it would change. Any truth to that??

If there is a sweep the winner of district tournament would host region semis/finals. Union City will face a tough task to make that happen.

The district meeting is Friday I believe.  This district is a mess at the moment.

    Camden (8-0)

    Waverly (3-4)

    Hickman (3-4)

    Stewart (2-4)

    East Hickman (1-5)

There is actually a potential scenario still in play where teams 2, 3, 4, and 5 could all end the regular season at (3-5) in the district.

Waverly plays at Stewart County on Tuesday night.

East Hickman plays Hickman County on Tuesday night.

Stewart County plays at East Hickman on Thursday night.

Camden is standing at the finish line with an unblemished (8-0) district mark and looks to be a heavy favorite entering the tournament.

    Thanks for that info!

No, all four games will be played on February 18th. The girls and boys consolation and the girls and boys title games.

Interesting concept. Thanks for the info? Are you familiar enough with East Hickman gym to give me an idea where we might set up for a broadcast in the region?

The  District 11 AA tournament will be played at East Hickman. The girls semifinals will be played on February 14 and the boys semifinals will be   February 16. I don 't know the times for certain, but probably 6 and 7:30. Just a guess.

    Thanks a bunch!

I thought Gibson County had the momentum a couple of times but the lulls and TO’s offensively stopped our momentum. Again, credit to Westview’s defense. They need to get a ton of credit. I thought GIbson County’s defense played tough and Westview was off some for sure but still made some money shots but Gibson County was in it real late. We have pressed, hadn’t pressed…etc…we got to quit turning it over. Did against Huntingdon too. We have to get better there. I do think there will be some battles between the two for sure. We lost the game and not happy about it but it was a dogfight and was an enjoyable game. Congrats to both teams on leaving it on the floor. Both of these schools are full of class and great programs with many chapters. Refs catch a lot of flack but thought they called a good game. Very fair.

Pioneer, your observations are very good and an honest perspective on 12AA girls. I know a little bit about these teams having broadcast Westview for many years and in recent years having a daughter-in-law and grandchildren in Gibson Co schools. Obviously  have seen Huntingdon for many years in both A & AA. We're blessed to have three really good teams in the district, all of which are state tournament worthy. Defense is the key to Westview's success in my opinion as well. It's gotten them through numerous tough shooting nights. I also agree that guard play will be the key for Huntingdon's success. They are the deepest and most well-rounded team of the trio. I was really impressed with GC's freshmen Tuesday night. Those two will be poison down the road. Micah will be Micah most nights but Westview defended Cantrell well. She's got to be more than a spot up shooter and create some shots of her own. I'm glad next year district/region will change. Fillies will still have to go through Summertown/Loretto in Sectional but they'll have a good chance of hosting the game.

Who ranks these teams, Westview at #10 and undefeated, they keep winning and just keep going down.

The #10 is a Strength Ranking on CoachT. It uses an algorithm based only on results from in-state games since that's all the website keeps up with. The first two wins at Hilton Head didn't help Westview with that. Their strength ranking will change once they get into the ultra-tough 12AA schedule with Gibson Co. & Huntingdon.

Tell me why girls basketball coaches and fans in West TN will like it. Hadn’t done Gibson County any favors with the four classes having to go across the river to play in Region and in sub-state bracket with schools possibly three hours away. You got a Memphis set of teams that don’t show up half the games and don’t play and forfeits games and yet they get three districts. From what I have seen the number of teams in AA and AAA will increase so that means possibly more tough teams in AA that are on the border. What could possibly be good news for West TN who has a ton of AA and AAA teams??? I am lost here. I guess you are trying to be funny and sarcastic because there is nothing good about it. All it is doing is creating an unfair playing field for AA and AAA to pad their pockets at state.

With the size of AA districts increasing, Memphis should go back to two districts and one region. That should return rural West Tn. back to the old Region 7 with NW teams like Westview/Gibson Co. coming together with SW teams like Adamsville/Riverside. Bradley does a good job of explaining the proposals that will be discussed next week. Not perfect, but I agree with posters on the boys board. It's the best I've seen since classification began.
