  1. District 9 is always one of the toughest districts in the state. Goodpasture looks very strong with 6'11" Ryan Daniels, as well as Donelson Christian (DCA) and Franklin Road Academy. DCA is undefeated and beat Davidson Academy today despite not having Jason Herndon (who was out sick). Look for one of the District Nine teams to be playing in the state championship.
  2. I'd just like to say that Adam Drake is my Hero!
  3. I will say only that I have also known and been exposed to the cross-recruiting and coaching tactics of Gomab (Jeremy Shulman) for several years. I personally find his character questionable. I have also known Shawn Harris for several years. His character is above reproach. My son played for Shawn Harris and was hounded by Gomab after Shawn's team was put out of the State. Shawn gave coaches permission to speak with my son and encouraged him to continue to play for the team he chose so that he would receive the exposure that eventually landed him a Major College scholarship. That is not heresay... it's a fact. I won't speak further on the matter! Good luck Shawn!
  4. Serious question... First... I think Charlie Benson is a good coach and attracts quality players. He has a proven track record and (bottom line) has nothing to prove by playing anyone he doesn't want to play. But... isnt' a VERY large part of the Travelers success due to their NIKE sponsorship? I truly believe many programs in this state could be as successful if they could recruit players with the promise of shoes, clothing, uniforms, high profile tournaments and all expenses paid. I'd love to be in that boat!

  11. There is no minimum age for the mini-camp. If you can compete at the top level, you should be playing at the top level (being challenged). You are certainly welcome to come out and show us what you've got. If you don't make our squad... we will be glad to refer you to another team in your age division. Good luck!
  12. The team is shaping up very nicely. We still have spots to fill on the roster that will be filled at the mini-camp/tryout. I loook forward to seeing many of you there.
  13. I've heard the Tennessee Thunder is the besst AAU program in the state and would like to come to the tournament. Will I be able to buy a pass for both days? [Edited by Winner on 3-29-03 1:55A]
