  4. His remarks were videoed and will be on youtube soon.
  5. Please don't take this the wrong way. Lebanon High's coaching search stretched out for about six weeks before landing Sam Harp (300-plus career wins & 7 state titles in Kentucky). The Lebanon AD told a buddy of mine who was concerned about how long the process was taking, "I can hire anybody tomorrow, or I can keep looking for the right guy". Hang in there Indy. Here's hoping your patience will be rewarded.
  6. $5 per person chili supper Friday at 5 pm in LHS cafeteria to welcome Coach Harp. Remarks from coach at 6 pm, then Lebanon basketball teams host Station Camp at 6:30. Coach will be introduced to the crowd between girls and boys game.
  7. CU has gone 8-3, 7-3 and 8-3 over a three-year span. That's pretty solid football. Congratulations to the Bulldogs and a very good group of seniors. Thanks for your efforts through the years,
  8. Bulldogs stand 1-0 after last week's win over Kansas Wesleyan. Playing at the renovated Nokes-Lasater Field should be a lot of fun for the community. Come out and enjoy. Plenty of paved parking on the East (visitors) side of the facility, lots of fun for the kiddos.
  9. former MJ head coach Pedigo?
  10. We're playing this weekend at the Coffee County summer tournament. Does Coffee County play on-campus or elsewhere in Manchester?
  11. Is the pool play schedule out yet, and if so -- where?
  12. I'm hearing the two leading candidates are Lipscomb graduates -- Mark Campbell, HC at Union in Jackson and Greg Brown, associate HC at University of Central Florida.
  13. IT'S OFFICIAL -- Cumberland will move football operations to the soon to be empty Nokes-Lasater Field (Lebanon High) and will play the 2012 season and beyond at the former home of the Blue Devils. Details at www.wilsonpost.com
  14. I think the guy is coming off Dewayne Alexander's staff at Cumberland. He had one season of HS experience at Lebanon. If it's who I think it is, he's a good young coach -- but he will need the full support of the administration to make a go of it. MJCA is located close enough to Mt. juliet High, Wilson Central, DCA and Antioch to get several kids who might not want to sit the bench at these other places. GET SERIOUS ABOUT FOOTBALL -- allow some teaching positions for assistant coaches and see what happens.

Beech pitcher Mason Dunn had a nasty slider working Tuesday night vs. Lebanon. He struck out 14 and allowed just two hits.
  16. Funeral services have been set for 1 p.m. Monday, March 19 at the Lebanon Cumberland Presbyterian Church for Lebanon High football legend Clifton Tribble, 76. Coach Tribble, who spent 36 years in the Wilson County School System as a teacher, football coach and principal, died Friday, March 16 following an extended illness. A member of the inaugural class of the LHS Sports Hall of Fame, he starred at fullback for the Blue Devils in the 1950s, then returned to LHS as head football coach in the 1960s where he led his team to the Clinic Bowl. He coached Louis Thompson and many other LHS standouts. He also spent many years as a TSSAA football official. He leaves behind his wife Peggy, five children, 15 grandchildren ans 16 great grandchildren. The football field at the new LHS (set to open this fall) bears the name "Clifton Tribble Field".
  17. FINAL -- Clarksville High 65, Mt. Juliet 45 Tuesday night at Northeast
  18. Friendship wins 51-48 as Patterson had 18. Watertown was led by Bates with 20.
  19. Cleveland is the only high school in a city school system; Bradley Central is a county school. That may have been what he was talking about. No doubt, he'll have that place rocking and rolling pretty soon.
  20. The Wilson Post in Lebanon reported Wednesday, Jan. 11 that Cumberland had made an official request to use, renovate and maintain Lebanon High's soon-to-be-vacant Nokes Lasater Field. The local school board will study the issue in a Jan. 21 work session and hopefully take action on Feb. 6. CU wants to play at N-L this fall.
