  1. Not only that, our jump pit is in horrible condition and is too dangerous to use. He doesn't even get to practice! Wait until next year afer he has had a chance to actually practice and see how high he goes.
  2. Michael, you change your opinion so fast it makes my head spin. Just the other day you were bragging about "your boy" Sorrell and saying that he was gonna win the 3200, 1600 and maybe even the 800. Now you think that someone in AAA (besides Herringshaw) can actually challenge him? Please. As long as he improves as the year progresses, he will win the 3200 and 1600 and place top 4 in the 800. He will have a legit shot to triple next year, but not this year. He has already ran 4:22 INDOORS. That is faster than the next fastest guy's pr (Herringshaw 4:23 outdoor) in the state and you think there is a darkhorse that will challenge him? Gimme a break. Herringhsaw can, but he's no darkhorse! Also, Bumbi WILL triple. Ollie won't be able to hang with him in the 800. And you know it!
  3. We (McMinn) will race Central at our home meet on Tuesday. We and I assume Central as well will be racing Bradley at Bradley on Thursday.
  4. "How could they are?" I think runnerboy means "how good they are." Yeah, we expect to beat them Tuesday at our first home meet.
  5. I'm afraid so. One of his first races was at the McCallie Invitational back in October and he ran 16:15 there. After that everyone on McCallie was like "where did he come from?"
  6. His last name is spelled Koszela. And runnerboy is wrong. Bumbi is not a stud, he is a motor vehicle!
  7. The greatest runner to ever come through McMinn County High School was Powell Grisham. He ran a 15:00 (3 mile) his senior year, which is a school record. He won Optimist, Region, and placed 3rd at State. He ran 16:13 or so at State on a very windy and rainy day with lots of mud. He also holds the school record in the 3200, placing 3rd at state with a time of 9:26. He graduated in 1989. Tray Hurst and Josh Hicks (the sub 16:00 duo who led McMinn to their state title in 2002) were also great runners. Their senior year, they placed 3rd and 4th at State with times of 15:39 and 15:42. They still weren't as dominate as Powell was. Tray Hurst holds the school record in the 1600 with a 4:24 and Josh Hicks holds the 800 record with a 1:57 (he also ran a 1:55 relay split). These two also helped McMinn win the state championship in the 4X800 meter relay in 2003. They ran a 7:54 vs. Baylor for the school record and a 7:55 to win at State. Expect their school records to be broken this year!
  8. That's right and who ever created this thread should have put Boys Region 3 AAA Individual Champ.
  9. Coach Tim Smith should be the Coach of the Year for Region 3 AAA. His teams have WON Region for the past 3 years and his team this year is about to win their 4th in a row. He has sent all 3 teams he has coached to the state meet, placing 11th in 2001, 1st in 2002, and 8th in 2003. In 2004, his team should make another run for the state title. The main factor is that he has A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP ring! He is expecting to be fitted for another one soon!
  10. What makes you think Baltimore we be able to challenge the three guys (who are all from McMinn) who BEAT him last year? Michael especially. He was about 45 seconds behind Michael. Suhmer and Draino will beat him, too.
  11. I think you better edit your poll because his name is Suhmer G. Smith, not Suhmer Smith. It will be between him and Michael for the title. Another thing. You better add Chris Dranier to the poll as well. He is the 3rd fastest returning behind Michael and Suhmer. I think McMinn will have guys go 1, 2 and 3 at Region. Baltimore will be lucky to get 4th.
  12. I see. You want to talk injuries. Mike was injured all year (hernia). So we didn't lose him. Michael was injured most of the year (back). Mike had a HERNIA and still beat the living crap out of ALL you guys. We are going to beat you worse than ever this year.
  13. No, considering that in 2002 only 4 guys broke 16:00 and in 2003 only 2 guys broke 16:00. To make the Optimist Top 10, you usually have to run sub 16:20.
  14. Just when was it ever close between McMinn and Bradley? Keep in mind that we have won the past 3 years OK? In 2001, we edged Cleveland, while Bradley took 3rd. In 2002, we beat Bradley 22 to 54. We had 2 in front of their 1, 4 in front of their 2, and 5 in front of their 3. In 2003, we beat Bradley 32 to 70. We had 4 in front of their 1, and 5 in front of their 4. In 2004, we will win region again. This time by a much larger margin I predict! Bradley won't even be able to touch us! We have only lost one guy while Bradley lost Caleb, Kyle, and Jerome.
