OK here we go Riverdale fans...What I seen was offensive and defensive line will be pretty good. QB will be Woody and he will be fine starting week 1 and Dale will help out if he can't get it done. Woody passing game is getting better and he can run. Dale arm is better but decision making is slow and that's trouble for him because he looks not to run it. RB's are ready just set it up and let them do what they do and thats pound the rock.WR's have spend but their success depends on QB.Now let's get down to the big factor with this team. LB'S are good between the tackles but slow to the flats. More speed at lB's or better scheme. Secondary how we wasn't prepared last year for Maryville. Why for one thing soft coverages will work on most teams around here but once you play skilled timing teams like Maryville you get picked apart all night long! When your a running team your defense will be good against run because that's all they see in practice. #2 and #26 are really good DB's but are they instructed to play soft coverages. In the 7 0n 7 camps I seen those DB's play great up in your face defense but soon as they put the pads on they back off for some reason.#26 had some big hits against Maplewood so I know these guys are physical so what I see is put two safties over the top of # 26 and #2 and move them up in the WR's face and watch that front seven get better. We will see if this team can overcome this non traditional Riverdale schemes and get back to running down teams throats and blasting everything that moves on Defense...Now that's Riverdale Football my Friend !

Another Coach with talent but cant and will not reach ouy to these kids. Have to get these kids to believe in the name on front of shirt first not on the back.

I am not a real good basketball guy so I do not know what difference a coach will make I thought the boys played hard one of the things that hurt us yesterday was TJ Chesterfield wasnt on he didnt hit nothing so you take away his 15-20 points that hurts a team and a coach can not put the ball in the basket for him. I like coach Burks he is a good guy and has always been good to me and my family (i have never had a kid on the team)so I will not say anything bad about himand I do not know how to judge basketball coaches Coach Burks is a coach wanting more than what he has ! This mean all coaches want to win but some really don't know how to relate with their players. When your team believes in the coach and what he stands for..... then your players will play for you. No matter what ! First you must be true to yourself then true to your players. These are young kids wanting to get to next level and you must prepare these kids not degrade. True enough some parents just see one thing and thats only their child. IF Coach Burk change his ways in handling kids and the problems you sometimes get with..... tennagers he will become a excellent coach. Note to Warriors....This can be good team if only rotate about 9 players. Have to coach to win not coaching to make everybody happy. 9 might be stretching it a little. Waiting on you Coach to change your ways because the young men need you to lead them when you have them and still lead them when you dont! You have a huge impact on these kids. Good basketball Coach just cant get his players to buy in. Good luck Warriors

Please please please bring a huge crowd. I'd love for this to be a packed house. It'll be the only game going in Blount Co (and most surrounding counties) so hopefully we'll draw on others as well. how big is the stadium will there be enough seats seen photos looks really small. maybe im wrong

Bottom line this game will be decided in secondary. Both teams lines are solid but both secondarys has diffrent task at hand. Oakland must stop the pass and Riverdale must help in run support. Oakland said the line of Riverdale flat out whipped them so they will have their ears pinned back. So it will be RB's on second level of defense and Riverdale DB's must tackle. Diffrent kind of football played here in Rutherford county cause these kids know each other and they want this one more than anything. Both teams can run the table from this game BECAUSE of the BATTLE OF THE BORO. I'm RIVERDALE ALL THE WAY BUT ALSO KNOW THIS IS BIG TASK FOR BOTH TEAMS !

Yeah when the red flag is thrown by the other school but got a lesson anyway. First game was luck flat out luck ! Go Warriors

Riverdaleman you have to understand you can't let one player shoot 20 times and only score 3 against siegel. You have to let all the players play not just 1 come on. You are telling me they live and die by one player ? You jack 10 3 and hit one and the other ten you get swatted at rim and you tell that kid keep shooting with two people in your face come on. Siegel not going to lose when a team plays that way.

One thing you have to understand is if these girls and guys want to get better they must hit the road over the summer. Find someone that wants to teach and coach these young ladies over summer together. You can play as many games you want as long as its not a sanctioned AAU tournament. Plenty of tournaments out there to play and look past Murfreeboro to play these tournaments. YOU Only can have three off one team in sanctioned AAU. Not trying to qualify in AAU tournaments but play the teams that do. Yes coaching is bad at school but really need to give girls something to do to better themselves over summer. Find a good fundamental coach and raise the money and put them on road twice a month. Maybe more a month if they are close and hold tournament of your own for one to raise money and bring basketball to Warren CO. The key is get these kids some confidence over summer and it will carry over to school team regardless who's coaching.

We all know age doesn't matter and I'm a true believer in that statement. Siegel like you said made a run at state title with Soph. and the diffrence in Riverdale Soph. is they are very talented but not a freakish talent. Great kids that play in this district and we all have a right to support and brag on or teams. So with that said this group of talent at Riverdale is best in years and will take more than talent to get it done. The Warriors are going to fight and when they learn to trust each other regardless who's coaching. Coach Harris didn't have to coach and all he had to do was manage. Once you lose control of one kid and it's not addressed then you have a upcoming team problem. Coach ! but don't over coach ! and trust your guys and they will follow you no matter what !Then this team will start to impose their will on teams. Siegel will dominate and they should because those ballers over there are geared to beat you. Not coached that way but breed that way. Coach King is great coach and we all know this, but what I've seen is he lets his guys be themselfs within the system. They play for each other and they play to find away. The diffrence in the loss that Riverdale had to Oakland is these young guys can play and make great runs at you but still trying to find a way to stand up and go blow for blow the whole game. Can't play in spurts in this district cause we all know if team gets up on you then your going to have to be perfect down the stretch of ball game. The first thing a young team must do if not already breed this way is learn to search for perfection. So yes there is excitement for the future and I believe they can turn the program around. Just let these young guys play within your system and they will love you as a coach and find ways to get the max out of your players in your system. Really no need to hand cuff a ball player because if they are not breed that way then they will be gun shy and then you will only get flashes of your true team.
