  1. We should be able to tell pretty soon at the state individual championship if Notre Dame can "run with the big boys". I expect they will run pretty well. As a team, everyone should get a chance pretty soon to see how well Notre Dame stacks up to the Division I AAA schools. Notre Dame's current TSSAA stated enrollment is 582 (1047 modified). If that figure holds at next classification review, ND will be moved up to AAA. Question: Now that ND was won a Duals State Championship, does anyone think that ND will request to have it's A/AA classification changed to AAA prior to 2009?
  2. What's happening with Notre Dame's Enrollment? TSSAA lists Notre Dame's enrollment at 582. Notre Dame's own website says 565 Silverpie says its down to 543 and now ijtx says enrollment is 530. If this continues, Notre Dame will be single A in a couple of years.
  3. Thanks silverpie. That makes sense except that Notre Dame's own website says current enrollment is 565 which pushes it over the 996 AA limit.
  4. Congratulations to Franklin Road Academy, Notre Dame, Seymour and Sycamore for qualifying for the A/AA State Duals. Was originally surprised to see Notre Dame name but later learned it had switched from Division II to Division I. Here's my question. With a TSSAA enrollment of 582 and the private school multiplier of 1.8, how does Notre Dame qualify as AA? My math puts the adjusted enrollment at 1047, over the 996 max for AA. It confused me since the other schools fall under the 996 number - Franklin Road is 283 (adjusted 509), Seymour 849 and Sycamore 856. Thanks for the info.
  5. FRA beat Lipscomb 60-22 FRA had 9 pins and 1 forfeit win while Lipscomb had 1 pin, a major decision, a forfeit, and an injury default. FRA won 103 (forfeit),119,135 and 145-Hwt. Lipscomb won 112(forfeit), 125, 130(major), 140 (inj. default)
  6. In addition to winning the A/AA race, don't forget about JJ's lock on the Mr. Congeniality Award.
  7. Can't believe CCS and FRA realistically think they have a chance to beat Elizabethton in the A/AA state championship. Just take a look at TSSAA history. Elizabethton(818 students) - State Champion 2004 State Runnerup 2003 CCS (370 students) - State Champion 1995, 1996 State Runnerup 1998,2000,2001,2002 FRA (283 students) - State Champion 1997,2000,2001,2002,2003 State Runnerup 1999,2004 Clearly, CCS and FRA should save themselves some embarrassment and just stay home. Their chances are hopeless. The time tested E-town dynasty is unbeatable!!
  8. Defending champ Elizabethton and Franklin Road Academy are certainly the favored teams for next Saturday's A/AA championship race. Both teams dominated their regional races. I predict Cyclones' Josh Jaynes and Panthers' Russell Rodewald will challenge Page's Joseph Pair for the A/AA individual tittle. As usual, the team title will depend on how the 2-5 runners for each team perform. These are the guys whose times can fluctuate 20-30 seconds in a given race. Don't think Coach Presnell's "magic" or good luck will have much to do with the outcome. The team with the most focused runners will prevail. It should be a great race. Hope all runners are healthy for the big race.
  9. 3-0 must be the magic number today. Scores of all A/AA games have been 3-0, so far.
  10. With 19 wins and no losses, Chuckey-Doak doesn't need to ask anyone for mercy. It can take care of itself mighty fine. Tomorrow's game should be a real shoot-out. The FRA team has been on a playoff rampage winning all of its last 7 games with shutouts and outscoring its opponents 38-0 !
  11. OK I guess there is something I need to clarify. I didn't mean that FRA didn't play hard. I thought the way we played was the most intense and hard I've seen em play all year. What I meant was that the game shouldn't have come down to the refs. The play of the players should have decided the game rather than the refs.
  12. Ok, juice I think I'll continue this with you in person. No hard feelings I think we just have a difference of opinions to work out and Coach T is not the place for it. FRA you played hard and should be proud.
  13. Ok, Juice Box and Yank. Quit getting all high and mighty about FRA. FRA plays just as hard and as "classy" or "classless" (Whatever way you wanna look at it) as other teams. Yank, you were not there, you got second hand information. You think that the people telling you the story are gonna point out they were jerks to CCS? Probably not. I am on the FRA soccer team and we talk as much trash as any of the other teams. The refs were not very good however as Yank said earlier, the game should NOT come down to the refs. FRA should have played well enough to win the game despite the refs. But we didn't and as a result we lost. "The'05 class alone has THREE students attending either West Point or the U.S. Naval Academy. Tell me when your school has had more than one in a decade." Ok, what the heck does this have to do with anything related to soccer? Did these players play in that game? No. In summary: FRA and its fans can be just as classless as other schools. We do NOT play dirty soccer though. We play clean but hard. Refs were bad but you can't blame a game on the refs. Teams shoulda played hard enough to not have to rely on refs for the win.
  14. The toughest test of sportsmanship is given when you are on the losing side of an emotional game. Our son had an emotional night in Memphis as he and his teammates shared the pain of realizing that their dream of a state championship was over. As a senior, he knows he will not have another opportunity, tonight was it. When he called home after the game he said: It was a horrible night, but a great year. Over time, I hope that more of the players will feel that way. Kudo's to CCS. They played hard. Good luck against CAK.
  15. Sheffield wins 2-1 per TSSAA website
