  2. yes. william blount beat cocke co and halls at heritage last saturday. both games were very close. clinton looked good in beating cocke co by 2 and seymour by 1. heritage is still gonna be tough- they beat sevier co by double digits and lost a very close game to morristown west(absolutely loaded). burnett from heritage looks to have improved in every facet of her game.
  3. Maryville is loaded. farragut will be very good. LC should be better this year. coach young always has powell in the mix, plus they've got jill herman back. heritage has a bunch of great shooters but will miss maples. don't see how oak ridge couldn't be down some after the seniors they lost. bearden will be tall and athletic and play great defense but will miss sanders and hirst. seymour is going to be very good- great point guard, tough kids, great coach -despite the loss of slay.
  4. that was WB's jv that lost to catholic's varsity at LC team camp. WB's varsity went undefeated at LC team camp.
  5. interested to know who everyone thinks will stand out this season and who to keep an eye on. here, in my opinion are a few: taylor mills- gibbs knoxville west's point guard torrie vaught- maryville haley newby- farragut lauren burnett- heritage
  6. TNT- As for WB having starters in the game when it was "out of hand", the Lady Govs only dressed 10 for the game. One girl (a non-starter) was injured in the first half and could not return. Two other girls who do not start fouled out. That leaves 7 players, only 2 of which did not start the game. So, they had no choice but to finish the game with 3 starters on the floor-Angela was not one of them.
  7. Congradulations to Angela Puleo for breaking the William Blount H.S. scoring record last night vs Alcoa! She had 43 points including 7 three-pointers to lead WB to an 81-48 victory.
  8. I have yet to see a better sophmore in the state than Angela Puleo. In fact, I think East Tennessee has the 2 best sophs in the state with Puleo and Powell's Hollifield. Ann Marie Lenning is right up there as well.
  9. Bottom line: You don't win 10 state championships if you can't coach. Like someone else said, have fun bashing Shelbyville right now, because I guarantee you they'll be in the hunt by tournament time!
