  1. CBHS over Brentwood Academy MBA over Baylor CBHS over McCallie MBA over MUS CBHS will be a lot healthier for BA than they have in the last four weeks they have lost. No one is giving them a chance. Most people felt they would get demolished by MUS but it was only a seven point difference. CBHS should have killed BA in their first outing, and I believe they have a good chance of beating them again. If they do win, they will beat McCallie in Chatanooga. The hardest game between the two will be beating BA for a second time this year. GO BROTHERS! 2004 State Champions!
  2. Lately, CBHS has looked rather shaky. After starting the season 4-0, by beating quality teams, CBHS has been hindered by the injuries of starter after starter and they also have suffered the loss of starting senior QB Brock Ross. After three loses in a row, MBA, Fr. Ryan, and now McCallie, the Purple Wave's fans and everyone who watches high school football seem to have lost all hope. Well that's where everyone is wrong. Senior QB Brock Ross quiting has definitly affected the team, but after the offensive production of Sophomore QB John Michael Skinner, the Purple Wave's offense looks back to normal. Star linebackers, Chris Mosby and Chris Walker, suited up against McCallie for their first games in weeks. Their impact was tremendous in the game. CBHS was the better team out there. They dominated the Blue Tornadoes defensive attack, and took a 14-6 lead into halftime. Four crucial mistakes in the third quarter cost CBHS the game. Blown coverage on the first play of the game, set up a short TD run for McCallie. Two bad decisions on the kickoff return team led to great field position (McCallie got to start their drives inside the redzone) and a 41 fg and a short td. At this point still somewhat early in the third quarter, the score was 24-14. Then on CBHS's next possesion, on fourth down, the snap was way over the punter's head resulting another offensive drive starting in the redzone. Stupid, stupid mental special team mistakes cost CBHS the game. The score makes it look like McCallie whooped up on the Purple Wave, but I think they know as well as I know that CBHS is a dangerous team. Everyone will be counting CBHS out against MUS, but I'll tell you this WATCH OUT! Mus is a huge rival, and maybe the best team in D2 ball right now, but CBHS has the ability to defeat the Owls. If they minimize their mistakes and play fundamentlly sound football, the Purple Wave has a great chance of upsetting MUS. Plus, if CBHS beats MUS, the Purple Wave gets the #3 seed in state. Mus would finish (2-2) and so would CBHS forcing a tiebreaker. CBHS would win the tiebreaker because of beating MUS head to head. If CBHS loses to MUS and Baylor wins, CBHS will finish 6th in the state, and have to travel to Chattanooga to take on Baylor. Yeah, I know your probably thinking to yourself: "Yeah right, CBHS has no chance of beating MUS." All I have to say is Watch Out. This is one of the biggest rivalries in high school football in Memphis, and believe me this will be one of the greatest games of the season. It's only six days away, GET READY.
  3. Well CBHS lost senior quaterback Brock Ross due to personal reasons. It has been a big let down, but I think we will start to overcome it in the next few weeks. By the way, Chris Mosby didn't play ryanboy sorry. When he plays next week against McCallie you will know why he is all state.
  4. First of all ryanboy, considering you played in the game, you got a lot of key facts wrong. Our second td to tie the game was from a run by Henry Harris not a pass, and the extra point was good. Our third td, which put us up 20-14, was from a fumble recovery which Marable ran back for a td. The extra point was missed there. Then we came back and hit a fg. Personally, this was the most disappointing loss in the history of CBHS. To lose to a 0-6 team on our homecoming game is simply pathetic. We came out cold and soft, our team wasn't in sync during any of the pre-game warups. We deserved to lose. Fr. Ryan played good, but if we would have been focused the game would have been a kill. We are going to have to get it together for next week when we are at McCallie. Chris Mosby and Chris Walker will both be healthy for this game, soo after a TOUGH week of practice, I hope our team will be ready to play the Tornados in Chattanoga.
  5. The CBHS Purple Wave brings their 5-1 (1-0) record into Nashville to play the Red Storm of MBA 5-1 (2-0). Both teams are having pretty good years. From the looks of the the first six weeks of football, how will this game play out? Who will win?
  6. So far the Super 7 is having an up and down year. After five weeks of football, who would you say are the top contenders to play for the state championship?
  7. I think CBHS has a very good football team. I really think the team they have this year is a better TEAM than last year. Granted they are very young, but they have the heart of champions and there defense is incredible. Also their offense isn't soo bad with Henry Harris running the ball. Plus the special teams this year is very good compared to the past years. Look out in the State Tournament for the Purple Wave.
