  1. My daughter played for Hillary Maxwell at Siegel for 3 years. She ( Hillary) was a task master that made my daughter cry at times, question her love of the game and work harder day after day to prove that she had the right stuff. My daughter learned much more from Coach Maxwell than x's & o's, she learned about responsibility, accountability and community. In my opinion, Riverdale (The Darth Vader of High Schools) has made the best hire in history, as Hillary is first & foremost a teacher. She is an instructor in life's lessons with ethics, morals and is a true guaridan of the children entrusted to her care and tutalage . It will be very difficult to hate them with the zeal I once had. (Only kidding Riverdale Man) My daughter just finished her freshman year in college. She plays at the next level for a Division !! school in Alabama. She has kept in touch with Hillary and respects and loves her. Best wishes for continuing success, although you don't need it!
  2. Way to go RHS, congrats on accomplishing something no other girls team in modern ers have done. 51-40 win over Memphis Northside.
  3. Best of luck to the Riverdale Lady Warriors, bring back the prize to 7AAA.
  4. Riverdale is NOT in Shelbyville's district, They are in 7AAA. They are in the same region.
  5. You are correct, MJ, they beat them in the regular season. 9AAA won't have the opportunity to play anyone, anymore. My point is that I was really tired of the arrogance expressed on this thread day in and day out during the season. Mount Juilet played our 5th ranked team in Jan and squeaked by , a 6 point victory, I think. I never saw that on the 7AAA thread, it talked about what was going on within the district. I am glad we did not stoop to chest beating and crowning State Champions in November. Riverdale probably won't win the State, but they never said they would. The thing is, they are still in the hunt and 9AAA's season is over. Live with it!
  6. Lots of talk about the power of 9AAA. Talk never advances a team. 7 AAA moves on to State, there is only next year for Mt Juliet, Wilson Central, et al.
  7. Both great programs, but, IMO, neither will be in the elite 8.
  8. Adios to all, it has been a fun ride!
  9. Cookeville loses by 10 at Lincoln County tonight.
  10. Thank you for your support! They only have one common opponent, LaVergne, Lawrence County won by 12 and Siegel won by 13. It should be a good game. We knocked them out last year, so I am sure they will be looking to return the favor.
  11. Ouch! That hurts Grad, ye of little faith! LOL
  12. I agree Trueline. Neither Siegel nor Cookeville should talk about playing a great game against one another. Siegel hit 9 field goals for the night and Cookeville hit 12. A dismal performance by anyones measurement. I was glad to see Siegel bounce back and thought Cookeville did a great job hanging with Riverdale. Riverdale led for virtually the entire game and made some runs that I thought would put the game away, but Cookeville kept storming back. A great game to end the 7AAA season. I thought Bianca Burnette was awesome and kept Cookeville in the game.
  13. briank-Siegel will play at the home court of the first or second place team. Cookeville will have a home game against the third or fourth place team
  14. You are right Gordo, the Cavaliers can't control the officials. It is a sad state of affairs when we have an important game that is spoiled by inept officiating. Cookeville played a physical and at times, dirty game. Grabbing jerseys, throwing elbows and pushing on every play. Number 55 fouled every time down the court. You have to give credit to MS Odam and the Cookeville girls. They took what was given and played as the officials would let them. Having said all of that, Siegel played the most dismal game since their first year in the existance. They would have struggled against any one. Cookeville and Siegel are very evenly matches and I hope they meet again.
