Nick Lakin was never getting looked at by Georgia. He has now signed with King College in Bristol. He is a petty good player, but Matt Hargis and Cory SPradlen are both probably alittle better than him.

Well I do believe the first game was a fluke and you should too because Powell Dominated them. I will give it to you the second game at Halls, Halls handled Powell that night and yes Cameron Sharpe is a player too, and he is very developed for a soph but I would still rather have Hargis. I believe Powell is the better ball club regardless and I guarantee you ask most coaches who they would rather NOT play and they would say Powell. Powell is very dangerous and very good. If Powell plays there game and dont let the emotion of this big game and big rivalry get to them I believe Powell wins by 11 tonight. There isn't no stopping Smith and Ward and Hargis, Connor, and Addis will step up and hit some big shots tonight, just my gut feeling. Big players step up in big games and Matt Hargis is gonna be the difference in tonight's ball game. Im not saying he will score 20 pts but he will be the all around difference in Powell being DISTRICT 3AAA Champions

Ok first off Jamesd you just said Halls guards scored 62 points in the last meeting, but you also listed just abut every guard on Halls team lol. I would hope 6 players could outscore 2 or 3 I mean really. Also, you guys that think Hargis will choke just wait and see tonight. That kid is a gamer. Sharpe may be able to score and do the other things areally well but if it came down to crunch time there is nobody I would rather have running my team that Matt Hargis. You can always count on him to have more heart than anybody on the floor every single night. Jbrock your right Halls did lose to Powell 2 times in the regular season last year and then Powell ended up losing in the 3rd meeting in district tourney, But Powell was also short handed last year in the 3rd meeting. Anyways I believe tonights games will be awesome, with a lot at stake and two huge rivalries. I see Clinton beating Oak Ridge by 9 only because Dandrus Whitt is out to prove something after a kind of disappointing game. In the Championship game tonight I believe after watching the regular season games Smith and Ward are too much for Halls, I mean Powell had Halls blown out of the gym the 1st meeting up by 17 at the half. I see Halls packing in that zone and powell hitting a couple big threes and smith and ward gettin there 20 pts each, with Powell rolling. Powell by 11.........even though Halls won both meetings this year I honestly believe Powell is still a 10 pt better ball club! Goodluck to everybody today.

Robpride: I dont undertsand what point your trying to prove or what not about Mocs30 helping the Powell guys out. Are you a fool? Mocs30 knows the game of basketball very well, in fact I would bet ya he knows more about the game than almost every single person in the gym any tuesday or friday night. Why don't you stay out of everybody elses business, and worry about other things besides somebody helping the guys out. As a matter of fact Coach O likes having Mocs there, he brings a lot fo excitement to the game, not to mention how much those kids look up to him. ALso, if he wants to go back into that locker room he can, is it your right to try an tell him what to do. I do believe if Coach O didn't want him in there or helping the guys he would have said so about 3 or 4 yrs ago. So before you start barkin orders about somebody helping the players get better, you need to sit back and honestly think about how ignorant you are. Actually just stop worrying about everybody else and keep your focus on that little girls team you coach and everything will be just fine.

Redupset that is about the dumbest thing you have ever said. Cody May can't hold a candle to Lee Smith and EVERYONE in knoxville knows that. I mean give me a break Lee is averaging around 20 pts with everybody doule teaming him. I think I see alittle jealousy. Just wait and see Friday who puhes who around

Dmoyers: I can probably ask some Maryville players who is more physical and they may say Powell. Just because somebody is more physical doesn't mean they are the better team. I am a Powell fan and you saying Powell is more physical sure didnt help the Panthers much 2 weeks ago when Central dominated the Powell team all game long. If you dont remember Central won 34-10. Central is better than Powell until Powell proves me wrong. 34-10 is handling somebody pretty well. I think this game will be about the same as the first meeting, but hope not. Well I have been sitting back reading these post for a day or so. Fballmaster I agree with you Mr. Tallent runs hard and that whole secondary better hit him low or there could be some injuries. I don't see this game being very close at all. PalPanther you all may have played Maryville the best but it still wasn't close and for you to say that the winner of this game will play in state title is crazy. Yes Maryville will more than likely play for the state title but even if you all got lucky and won you wouldn't beat Central nor TN High . Central dominated the Powell team all night 2 weeks ago. PalPanther I saw where you said that the defense has came a long way but if I dont recall Central put 34 points on the board 2 weeks ago and CLeveland's offense was probably the worst offense you played all year besides karns. Well now its time for round 2 in High School Football. This match-up features two teams who have already played once this year. Maryville hasn't really had a test all year and seemed to have no problem in round 1 of the playoffs. Powell on the other hand has had a good year but struggled in all big games. Powell traveled to Cleveland in week 1 and got a big win on the road but this years CLeveland team wasn't the usual dominant Blue Raider team. I see this weeks game being close for about a quarter and a half then just liek every other year Maryville will take control. Maryville is to deep and to well coached to lose this week. I see this game turning out about the same as the first meeting did. I hope the Panthers come out on top but I dont think it will happen. Go Powell!!! Powell 14 Maryville 42

Im sorry ClevelandBlueRaider but # 3 is not even close to being the best Linebacker in East Tennesse much less the best you have ever seen play. You are right Powell is huge and yes they dominated this game from the 1st second. I give tons of credit to the Panthers and their coaches. Well Job done guys! You guys better hope that the old CLeveland coach who was so successful does come back because this years Cleveland team was VERY down, from the usual team. But Powell did play exceptional well not taking anything from them guys. But now Powell has an hard task ahead I dont see them coming out on top but we'll see. Great win Panthers!!

Well I know that Kenny Cruze's brother who was Central's QB about 4 years ago lived in the Powell zone, about a mile from Powell High School but attended Central. I'm not sure if they have moved or not but last time I heard they lived in Powell. Anyways back to the Cleveland/Powell matchup. I believe this game and the Halls game will be both excellent games. I think Cleveland will beat Powell in a close battle this friday. They will be pumped playing on the own home turf. Powell is a very big team, but they haven't been to impressive at controlling the line of scrimmage this year. They should be smash mouth down your throat until somebody stops them. They are big but do not control the line as they should. Powell also tends to have trouble when playing somebody who is discipline and has speed. From what I hear Cleveland has tons of speed and if thats the case it's gonna be a long night for the Panthers. I have heard they run a lot of different formations and also run the wing T. If so Powell is in some serious trouble because they haven't found out how to stop teh Wing T ever since they scheduled webb these last 2 years. I see Cleveland winning in a close game and not getting beating in the 1st round on their home turf for the 2nd year in a row. Fball Master I totally agree with you. I am a Powell fan and I noticed some of the smaller things that they lack with discipline. Clark would not have had people throwing helmets to the ground, he never even let you sit your helmet down inless it was a water break and even then ur helmet had to be placed on the ground a certain way, it couldn't be on its side. Also, in some of the games I have attended I have seen some starting Panther players talking to people either on the track or up against a fence behind their sidelines, the games may have been pretty much over but you just do NOT do that. Im not bashing Stephens in anyway because hes doing a fine job with the Football program. I'm just saying that they do lack some discipline that can easily be fixed. But Panthers keep working hard and more importantly KEEP WINNING. GO Powell get that big win tomorrow night. You were also right about saying a lot of people on her will always be interested in high school football and type on here. well I'm not sure what is going to happen in this heated contest come Friday night. The Bobcats have a lot to prove after getting completely embarrassed last week. I don't know how much discipline either of these teams have btu I think whoever can control themselves on the field and not make stupid penalties will win this game. Central has a lot to prove and they are going to come out ready to play. Central is going to want to make Smith and HUber wish they never left, they have a lot to play for. Also I believe the Panthers will be out to prove themselves. Evidently Huber and Smith had a serious problem with the way everything was handled at Central and are very happy wearing a Powell Uniform. I see this game being a very close and intense match up but I see Cody Watts having a fantastic game to lead the Panthers and the rest of the Powell team will be out to play hard and win this one for Cody Watts. Well I have noticed on the prepxtra board that Carter has their QB in the top of the standings and a couple of receivers at the top also. Can they pull of the upset? Powell is a good team but not as good as some people talk them up to be. i think this game will be close. Give me your thoughts
