  1. I'm glad to see that four Christian schools made it to the 1A-3A finals. I wish I could go support my old school but I will be working instead. I also like the comments that the JCS coaches and players made in the Jackson Sun. GO EAGLES!!!
  2. Just don't say anything at all. Your speaking priveleges should be revoked. Another thing--I've been in private schools all my life and am glad my parents sacrificed a buttload of money to keep me there. It's one of the reasons why I'm going to college for free. You have no idea what you're talking about comparing UC to JCS because it's like comparing apples and oranges. Oh yeah, and learn to use good grammer unless your satisfied with the redneck stereotype. On to football... UC will give JCS a better game than McKenzie did. That doesn't mean they will win, but it does mean that it will be a tough win for the winning team.
  3. This reminds me of certain posters in the JCS/McKenzie thread. There will always be people who speak out of ignorance and make themselves and their school look stupid; this is no exception. Lots of good points made, buschman. Some folks will never learn. Instead of admitting the truth, they just keep trying to defend their words and end up digging themselves into a hole they can't escape from. Good luck to both teams on Friday night, although I have a feeling that JCS will win this one and meet Jo Byrns in the semi-finals.
  4. I have to admit I had my doubts about JCS and their ability to handle a team like Southside, but all my doubts were disproven last night. They shouldn't have any trouble establishing themselves as a powerhouse in 1A football, especially now that USJ has moved up. I'm glad to see that there was good sportsmanship last night between the two teams.
  5. West Carroll played in a weak district and it came back to haunt them in the football playoffs and now in the basketball playoffs. JCS had several losses but they were to teams like Middleton (3) and Liberty (2), which are two very talented teams. I can't wait for the JCS/Middleton game on Thursday!

Well, #22 for USJ did get his clock cleaned last time by JCS's safety; Ian hits pretty hard.

Yeah it's cockiness, and arrogance, and haughtiness, and conceit -- overall, just a really bad attitude problem. Good luck with life, because you're going to need it when you talk to others like that. Anyways, forget the past seasons because we know that USJ has beaten JCS rather handily over they past several years. Why? It's because they are a good football team with good coaching, good players and good execution. We can sit here and argue until it snows about who really won the last matchup between these two, but what it comes down to is this: both teams records' don't matter right now because it's the PLAYOFFS; there are no second chances for the loser of this game; only going home and looking foward to next year. There is no doubt that both of these teams will give it their all on the field, and one will go to bed that night knowing that they will play next week. Who will that team be? It's fine to make predictions, but to assure victory is another thing. These teams compete at the same level - as the last matchup proved - and will compete in another intense game. There's no doubt USJ will be ready to play, but JCS has been waiting for this rematch and is out for blood...

Try playing DCA and West Carroll and see who has a perfect season. USJ could not take DCA; they are just too big, too fast, and too good. Easy on the language there, fella. Bruceton is better than you think, and just because a team has a record below .500 (think Riverside for instance) doesn't mean they are devoid of skill or capability. Bruceton put up a good fight against JCS in the first round, but they collapsed in the fourth quarter and blew it. Don't be so cocky because USJ won by six points in the last meeting, because it just might come back to haunt you if USJ loses this time. Never say never! After all USJ could go home at 12-1, and even if they win, THEY WILL NOT BEAT THE WINNER OF THE DCA/MT. PLEASANT GAME!! Hmmm, as far as JCS playing USJ's schedule, I think they would fare much better than you think. You can say that scrimmages don't mean a thing, but they give you a good idea of what to expect. I don't think JCS would destroy a team like Southside in a regular season match, but they haven't played each other outside of scrimmages. Look for JCS to play more area teams at higher levels in the future, like USJ has for several years, because they are getting better and better every year. I think buschman had a good point when he mentioned that both teams were very coservative in the last matchup, even though JCS should have gone for a field goal. JCS wasn't cheated out of a win, but their players deserved it. By the way, good luck to USJ in 2A; it will be challenging playing powerhouses like Milan and Huntington. One thing I do know, even though they are very good teams, they can be beaten by a team of USJ's caliber.

Whoa now, don't forget that according to the stats on this website JCS's strength of schedule is 5th compared to USJ's 47th. Remember, USJ had the easy route in the playoffs playing teams below .500, while JCS beat a very good Bruceton team and an even better West Carroll team that only had one loss (to JCS, of course). Yes, USJ did beat Northside (4A) and Southside (3A), but JCS whooped the former in the Jamboree (21-7) and the latter in a pre-season scrimmage (49-7), if you remember that far back. USJ got beat in almost every aspect of the game the last time they played JCS and they know it; those who don't are in denial. This game will be much like the first: intense and close. Look for another huge crowd now that several area schools are out of the playoff race. And by the way, even if USJ gets past JCS this time they won't get past DCA or Mt. Pleasant. That's a fact, and you can hold me accountable for saying that too.

    usj vs. jcs

    Eagles win! Eagles win!
  11. The winner will come from the western half of the bracket.

West Carroll is a much better team than Fayette Academy, and I believe we can all agree on that. However, USJ has had an easy path compared to JCS who played teams that had records above .500, unlike USJ who played a horrible Gleason team and a sub-par FA team. Both teams know what to expect of each other this time around, and this one won't go into OT. Could there be another fireworks show? The last one was amazing and worth the $5 admission fee. That would be awesome!
