  1. Hamilton County Schools have banned all basketball teams from travel outside the county for the holidays. (notice issued on 12-3-2020) I assume this will also prohibit Non-Hamilton Co teams from playing in Hamilton County tournaments. This vacates four sports in our tournament. We are looking to replace two girls and two boys teams. Teams qualify for a $1000 travel stipend and a $250 coaches stipend. Contact tournament sponsor Philip Hall at (931)319-4179.

  3. Dates: Dec 28-30 All games played at York Institute in Jamestown, TN $0 entry fee. Bracket style tournament. Three game guarantee. Teams Participating- Girls: York, Clay Co, Chatt Brainerd, Perry Co., Clarksville Academy, Kings Academy, Sale Creek Boys: York, Clay Co, Chatt Brainerd, Perry Co, Clarkrange, Soddy Daisy, Johnson Co. My name is Philip Hall. We run this tournament as a ministry of our company. It's not a fundraiser tournament. All the funds go back into the schools that participate. This tournament is all about the kids. We pull in college coaches with the hope to get some kids some opportunities if they want to play at the next level. We give away 4 scholarships to 4 student athletes during the event (two to each tournament MVP and two academic/sportsmanship scholarships that come from nominations from school guidance counselors and coaches). We also conduct a variety of contests during intermissions, etc that help build team chemistry but also have some really nice prizes like ipads. These awards are issued to the coach to distribute to his/her players at their discretion as to follow TSSAA rules and guidelines. We also provide daily reports to the media outlets of your choice and we have a professional photographer in attendance to permit free downloads to those outlets and the parents/players themselves. Covid protocols will be in place this year, including spacing within the gym, use of mask, temperature checks, and professional spraying of facilities (including locker rooms and benches following each game by a company with a certification for bio-control disinfection). We give each student, coach, and school administrator a tournament t-shirt. We pay travel stipends to teams as a way to assist with expenses. We also pay a coaches stipend to each head coach to permit the coach to do something special for their team during or after the event (a meal, equipment, etc - just whatever they see fit). We are also working to increase these stipends to our current entries (beyond what we have already pledged via their contract because we know that revenue for each school will be down this year and we want to help with the trials and obstacles our teams will be facing during the entire 2020-21 season). I never have problems filling my brackets, but I had a boys and girls team from Kentucky "abruptly" drop out last week due to a ruling from their local school board prohibiting travel for out of state tournaments this year. It appears that this will be the first year we will have all "in-state" teams. I am in a TOUGH spot to fill these two spots in a short amount of time. We are offering a $1000 coaches stipend and a $1750 team travel stipend to a boys and girls team willing to help us complete our brackets. The increases are because we realize the work this will take in possibly shuffling a schedule and for spacing out kids regarding lodging. Most of our out of town teams stay in Crossville or Cookeville. This would be an amazing opportunity for a team that could commute because the financial offer would stand. Contact me if you have questions. Philip Hall (931)319-4179. I hope this reaches someone and would be a blessing to a team. ***Also, if you have been a former participant from a perspective of a coach, player, or parent and can give us and endorsement in the comments below, I would be grateful.
  4. Forrest @ Clarkrange to open the season! All eyes will be on this game. Should be a great matchup. Very young Clarkrange team versus a mature and proven Chapel Hill team.
  5. Clarkrange had a great summer. The young players have really stepped up into their new roles. Jessica Green is the lone Senior on the team and she has really become a leader. She knows her role. Tori Lowe has looked really good. They could win the district this year. Not hearing much on Jackson County? Anything new going on? What kind of summer did they have? Same for Clay Co.?????
  6. Did you even read what I wrote...yeah, last year it didn't do 'em any good. Most years it does them a heap of good.
  7. I would like to see one that can compare to Leonard. She was the best 8th grader I have ever seen play high school. Kelly Reed at Clarkrange will raise some brows. Already got OVC interest and she hasn't even suited up for a real game. Lots of great young players on the plateau.
  8. Muffin, when it comes to your teams....you always think you have to have the last word....I get your point. The schedules did not mean anything, RBS beat Clarkrange when it counted, BUT you have serious denial issues if you do not think that Clarkrange "played/has been playing/will likely play" a harder schedule than RBS. And while it did not help last year, traditionally it does. Nice numbers gotmilk...very convincing. I do not disagree that Clarkrange is a hard place to go. They play tough at home. They have good crowds. It is usually one of the best atmospheres for basketball in the state. I think RBS was a surprise for most people last year. I keep up with area teams, but had no idea that the Leonard girl would be so good. You're crazy if you think RBS will NOT have any problems with Clarkrange next year.. neutral, home, wherever. Have you seen them play any this summer? It is a completely new team. They should be pretty good. Swanson....I think the jury is still out on how much they'll improve. I think there is room for improvement. They are a great team and Leonard is a great player, but they can get better. Can White get them better???? If Leonard continues to get better...she is SEC material I think. We'll just have to wait and see. As for your comment about experience carrying you through the regionals last year, I agree that Clarkrange was much more experienced, but the talent was pretty even and RBS just played better together last season than Clarkrange did. Clarkrange had a great team, but RBS had their number last year. ...when it counted most. Clarkrange got outplayed by RBS last year. I don't think RBS will be down at all...but Clarkrange will be ready for some good games with them. I do not think that RBS is gonna run away with district and regional titles. They'll be the favorite, but they'll be challanged. I think it will be interesting to see how they handle being the favorite. ?!?!?!----------very cool
  9. CoachT is usually pretty accurate, but I have always questioned that SOS poll. Look at Jackson Co. and Clarkrange's schedules. I think theirs is tougher. They mix in some AAA and AA schools. RBS's traditionally sticks with the same schedule, mostly teams they think they can give a good game and schools their size. The boss comment was kinda harsh. I should have just said, they have a pretty good record against RBS. In contrast to you though, I hope that your team does share YOUR opinion. If they just look at Clarkrange as another game on the schedule, we'll beat 'em. That was part of our problem with you guys last year I think.
  10. I seriously doubt that they care...who cares??..it's just a message board and some people take it a little too seriously, ie, you. RBS fans like to talk, I guess I should say it makes ME want to see 'em get beat. We were 1 and 2 against 'em last year. No matter what I say, our performance against them last year should be "fuel" enough.
  11. Gotmilk, I have to say that your agressiveness on the boards makes us want to beat them even more...keep fueling it.
  12. Don't take it as bashing. I am critical of their soft schedule, but I respect their program. I did long before last season..... But I think to get better and be competetive at M'boro you gotta play the AAA's and AA's...the best of them..no offense to Know Christian. I think they still have alot to prove. I doubt they were satisfied with last season's success, district runner up, regional runner up, and a show up at state. We'll be ready to give 'em some good games next year.
  13. Yeah it will, but you have to agree that the team will not progress by playing teams like Knox Christian. I have seen RBS teams start out with young groups like this and fizzle as they become upperclassmen. It may not happpen, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did. I don't know how they'll react to being the favorites in not just the district, but the region as well. I like the comment that the girls don't think they've proved themselves yet. I agree that ambition/desire can make them even better. I am still not a believer........
  14. Anyone know the preseason and season schedules for the York Dragons?
  15. I think the big question with RBS is will Leonard continue to get better????? If she does, the team will improve. Personally, I think and hope people have them figured out. They'll be good, but it will be the same old RBS type team. Hopefully last year was just a fluke season, haha. You make it sound like Clarkrange was in such a weak region!?!? Don't let your heads get too big. Many more times than not, Clarkrange has showed RBS who's the boss. It's a pretty goog rivalry. Jackson County owned RBS last year, and I'm not sure if that will change this year.
