  3. Schools requesting to move up a class is posted. https://cms-files.tssaa.org/documents/tssaa/2022-23/2023classification.html Memphis East is the only school to move up a class in Baseball, Basketball, and Softball in Division 1. East is moving from Class 2A to Class 4A.
  4. Schools will have until Monday, October 24, 2022 to notify the state office of their wish to move up in any of the above classification plans. Once the deadline passes, the state office staff, with input from Board members, will set districts and regions and post them to the TSSAA website when complete. District and region alignments will be published no later than one week prior to the Board of Control's November 17, 2022 meeting. Any school that disagrees with their placement can have their appeal heard by the Board of Control at that time.
  5. I know it wasn’t directed at me. No worries. I agree with you. It’s mind boggling how they did the districts during the last cycle.
  6. I went by how they were placed in the last cycle by the TSSAA and those schools mentioned were split up by them. I don't think they will change the districts up that much. I added teams that had dropped down to 1A from 2A or if they are a new school. I admit that I don't know the exact locations. This is just a projection. The TSSAA will do what they want to do.

  9. This is what Class 2A could look like. I had no idea where some of the schools are exactly located. Plus, the way TSSAA did the districts the last time, I could be way off base. 10. Classifications are out! Check tssaa.org Division I: Basketball, Baseball, Softball Four classes, split evenly. Class No. of Schools Enrollment Range 1A 86 0-395 2A 85 396-682 3A 85 683-1194 4A 85 1195 and greater
  11. This is what I came up with. There are 340 schools this cycle in basketball, baseball, and softball. This puts 85 schools in each of the four classes. I could be wrong with this but here are the numbers. 1A: 397 and under 2A: 400 - 695 3A: 698 - 1206 4A: 1207 and up
  12. Hillcrest turned in their numbers. Waiting on Germantown.
  13. The original plan two years ago was to put the six classes in football and four classes in basketball, baseball, and softball on a two-year "experiment" in Division 1. After the two years was up, the plan was to vote to keep the six & four system and to re-draw the districts and regions, go back to the old model, or to try something entirely different. The recent BOC vote decided to keep the six & four system for the next two years. However, the BOC never said anything about the district and regions. In the past, reclassification was a four year cycle and every two years enrollment numbers was requested to see if there was a 20% increase or decrease. If so, those schools had to move up or down. This time we don't know if there is going to be a redrawing of classes or if its a 20% check. In my opinion, I think the TSSAA will redraw the classes. TSSAA has gotten many complaints about how the districts were drawn out especially in the four-class part. I could be wrong, who knows to what they are thinking in Hermitage.
  14. I think they will be released in October. Then, the schools will have to decide if they want to play up a class or not. When that is decided, the final district and region alignments will be released and voted on by the BOC in November.
  15. If you average the top 10 according to the last cycle, the cutoffs are: 3A - 1166, 2A - 583, 1A - 292. Average the top 5 and the cutoffs are: 3A - 1255, 2A - 628, 1A - 314.
  16. The 2023 Alex Cassetty Classic will be played on April 14 and April 15 at Jackson County High School. If interested, contact Juan Clariday @ 615-388-8295 or email [email protected]
  17. NFHS feed is terrible, website crashed or whatever. Kept buffering every five seconds and can’t reload or refresh the page. SMH.
  18. I think those who made the alignments needs a Tennessee geography lesson. You have several schools making long hauls just for district games and pass schools that should be in the same district with each other in the process. I thought Memphis getting three districts in 2A would be a possibility but I didn't think it would happen. I bet TSSAA will be getting a lot of calls today.

  20. It looks like that no one from 1A jumped up to 2A and only Memphis East decided to jump from 2A. They decided to play in 4A. So, 2A remained pretty much intact from TSSAA classification report. Now, we wait on district and region pairings. BOC meeting is scheduled for November 12 but I think they will be released sooner because schools that want to appeal their placement can do so at the November 12 meeting. My guess is that the pairings will be released around November 5 to give schools a week to decide if they want to appeal and prepare for it or not to appeal.
  21. This is not my real projection, I was giving two other posters an alternative to where one wanted more Memphis districts and the other wanted to keep two other West TN districts together to form a region. 22. I was reading where District12AA was wanting three Memphis districts in 2A but pioneer42 didn't want that because of a West TN district and a Middle TN district would be in the same region, meaning too much travel. I've come up with this compromise that will keep the west with the west and multiple Memphis districts. This is just me thinking out loud. I don't think it will happen. Here it is, what do you think? CLASS 2A DISTRICT 1: Union Co, Cumberland Gap, West Greene, South Green, Happy Valley, Chuckey Doak, Johnson Co, LN STEM DISTRICT 2: Gatlinburg-Pittman, Pigeon Forge, Loudon, Alcoa, Kingston DISTRICT 3: Sweetwater, Tellico Plains, Polk Co, McMinn Central DISTRICT 4: Tyner, Brainerd, Chatt. 23. Just noticed that Sycamore's enrollment went from 748 to 677. This places them in 2A and bumps up Dyersburg to 3A. This will delete Dyersburg from District 13 and add Sycamore to District 8.
  24. My initial projection had 332 schools but some of the schools I had listed was wrong. Then it was 329 and I adjusted accordingly, now it's back to 332.
