  1. I think that all of these predictions have been a little bit high. 16-14 may be reasonable but wouldn't it be 17-14 if he won it on a field goal? You predicting that he will miss an extra point? Kind of a confusing score... Anyway back to the game. While I do not doubt that Anderson County's offense has been playing well, I must remind the Mavs that the Falcons defense is nothing like the defense they faced last week in Carter. The Falcons have had several shut outs this year and have looked pretty good of late. On the other hand the falcon offense has not played very well this year. They struggled last week with rutledge in the first 3 quarters. The differance to this game is whether Jonathan Blair hits his mark in the passing game. If Blair has a good game Fulton wins. If Blair has a poor game I'd be suprised to see the two teams scores added up to equal more than 21.
  2. The rezoning has already taken place effective this year for several schools in Knox County. It all has to do with the whole Hardin Valley High School mumbo jumbo. I dont think it will affect the falcons talent pool though. I think from an athletic standpoint it helps.(Hearing that the future looks really bright) To be honest though, I am very unfamiliar with the rezoning of the school zones. The only info I know is that it went into affect this year.
  3. I don't remember anyone on the team not shaking hands in that game, but that kind of goes back to my dis like of catholic. There were things that happened in that game that the fans didn't see(Or even more importantly hear) I will not go into any details here as the unnecessary things that that happened in that game has no meaning to the younger players involved Friday. Now finally, back to the game. Jabril should be a big help for the falcons friday along with the rest of the secondary. The speed of the secondary will more than likely cause problems for the catholic offensive line(since they will be in the box). I look for Hump, Vic, Tyson, and Siler to all contribute in a big way early in the game. I think that Catholic will have a hard time throwing the ball against this secondary. Therefore, they WILL HAVE TO be able to control the line of scrimmage to win. Even more important than the secondary is how well catholic can block the big MLB in Bubba Stokes. He has had a remarkable year and has really been the differance maker for this Falcon team. Last week against Kingston, he made the fiest 5 tackles for Fulton in the second half. It will take two people to block him and that always frees up someone to make the tackle. Offensively, Fulton has struggled on the ground. If Fulton spreads out the Catholic defense they should be able to move the ball. I know that Cobb is a tremendous back but until the offensive line plays better it will be hard to move it on the ground. The best offense for fulton against catholic is the quick short passes. In summary, I think that both defenses will cause the other team trouble. In a relatively low scoring game, the falcons speed threat makes the differance. Fulton 14(1-1 on 2 point conv.) Catholic 7.
  4. I think these two post are prime examples of what road2three is saying. Complete lack of respect. People like donky are the people you read about in the newspaper that end up going to jail. What is his problem. Calling someone a crack baby? Does Catholic really support this kind of behavior? All jokes aside, this kind of attitude toward a football game is completely uncalled for. I despise Catholic Football for reasons that happened on the field that are completely unnecessary for this thread. Can we please get back to the game and leave the 1st grade name calling tactics out of it? Thanks
  5. Hey guys, anyone can go catholic...(PSSHH a $7,000 tuition is nothing) ITS SO CHEAP!!!
  6. road2three... Have you not learned anything by playing for coach black? How many lineman returned for '03, how many in '04, truth be known the line lost a lot last year...smokey, loaf, morris, ash...that was 4 starters...but coach black builds lineman...How could kids like myself, roark, both bates, and other lineman under 210 lbs push around the big ol lineman in the state? It all goes back to black! He's an excellent coach who will piece together an excellent line again next year. The big question is fultons defense. THEY LOSE A LOT! But coatney does a great job with creating good defensive game plans, and players step up every year that no 1 knew about...The falcons should be just fine next year.
  7. Thanks and we hope you would continue to listen. I know it makes Russel proud to hear that people tune in to the station. He does everything in his power to make 91.1 the best it can be. He strives for success, and I'm sure he's extremely happy with what he has accomplished. I'll be sure to tell him to check the thread! Again thanks to the listeners!
  8. I thought both teams played very good football...fulton made some mistakes but cut down from how many was made last week...less penalties and turnovers really helped...in fact their was a penalty that helped as well, a false start when the ball was snapped 50 yards down field... That is why a center should never snap as hard as he can...WOW! To DL: congrats on a great season, thought you played a very physical and classy game. elrod was a special player, and i can honestly say that i dont fulton had a harder time tackling a player all year...i was also impressed with the penny kid...very good speed... TO FHS: Congrats on the 3rd ring to the seniors, and to gildner and others for their 1st...Last time i heard gildner had only 6 tackles but they all were in the clutch...i thought the rest of the defensive front 7 played great ball today as well...Rogan it was fun playing with you for 3 years, and watchin you this year...you truly are a CLASS ACT! good luck at tennessee...
  9. 1.) A true wing-T against a decent defense=less than 35 per game... 2.) No team in the state would score more than 28 on fulton...the defense is honestly top notch(Im not sayin this bc im a falcon either...its a fact. fulton has one of the best D's in the country... 3.) Fulton hits big plays often, yes its possible to limit them, BUT with Rogan and freeney(as good as rogan, but not as big, hits hard, very impressive athlete) you can expect some long plays...Im gonna go with 30-21 fulton...and thats my final prediction. One more thing, while fulton does have athletes, they also have heart, determination, and function as a team...Im tired of hearing the BS about DL's team beats fulton's talent...Heard it for 5 years in a row now, and only 1 loss to any team outside of knoxville area...(Memphis Ridgeway 5 years ago in state championship)...You dont have that kind of success unless your a team...I think alot of the middle and west tenn people will be shocked at how good this fulton defense is...
  10. If you followed the falcons on here and seen all the forums you would know the 4 people you quoted are NOT true fulton fans...Never seen any of them in my life... Thats odd that you KNOW what the coaches and players are thinking about this game...I heard mayes on the radio earlier this week talking about how physical lipscomb is, and then talked to several players and coaches this week... In fact last night at walmart i saw coach humphree and he never once said they will roll over DL...in fact he never even hinted to it...Then i spoke with freeney and higgins last night, and neither one of them thought it was a cakewalk...sounds like your trying to add fuel for the fire for the lipscomb players...Hope using the internet does it for you...Shouldn't the players be fired up without us ol' folks sayin anything? John005, after looking back at your post it seems like you certainly DID say they were the most physical team fulton has played...Let me rephrase that...you implied it...Right?
  11. They may be a physical team...if you look at my post maybe you will notice i never said they weren't...BUT how can you tell they are THE MOST physical team fulton has played all year? They haven't played alcoa or catholic...
  12. Catholic and Alcoa are 2 of the most physical teams in the state...
  13. I agree with you about controlling the clock, but must warn the lipscomb fans of what is coming...Fulton's defense doesnt allow teams to run the ball. To beat fulton you MUST go to the air. But then you meet some of the fastest DB's you've played all year. Catholic and PC had success with the pass, but catholic AND Alcoa were shut down on the ground...For those of you that think Fulton is a team who cant shut down the run, you will be in for a rude awakening...
  14. Did you not say earlier that you predicted Fulton win? Are you even with lip?
