Really?!?

I was at East for a long time and I was there for the start of football. I can honestly say that East has been at some kind of disadvantage every year it has played football since bringing it back including this year! While magnet schools have potential advantages they are not guaranteed anything. There is an application process that goes through the board and rarely involves people at the school level to make decisions. Unless things have changed, only upperclassmen go through the principal because their records must confirm they can graduate on time with the courses offered. Congratulations to Alcoa on their phenomenal run! Congratulations to East for becoming a consistent winner!

How many REAL candidates are there for this job?

That district is brutal! All the Williamson county schools were put back together which was ignorant! You will have two maybe three good teams sitting at home after the first round of the district tournament. Districts 1-4 in 4A are all in the region already, since they each only have 4 schools in their districts.

My thoughts: 1. 1-26 is always going to be 1-26 and really not any different from 2-28. 2. Has the team quit him? I say NO! 3. Has the Coach done something unethical or immoral? Again, NO! 4. Who are you going to hire before the end of the regular season? No one. 5. Where are your best candidates going to come from? Playoff teams. 6. Are returning kids going to leave before a new coach is hired? Maybe, if so they were going to leave anyway. 7. Will this make a difference in MS players HS plans? In October?!?! 8. Will this make prospective coaches think twice about this job? It Should!! The timing just doesn’t add up…

How can PC play two halves in a Jamboree? I can’t imagine the TSSAA approving that.

Jamborees are totally unnecessary now. Coaches will have to worry about injuries for a meaningless half. No money will be made by Metro by adding locations. Multiple schools will have extra work to do for nothing…

Erik Davis new coach

East Nashville (Literature) began 5-12 and we had one principal, 8th graders could play. Later the 5-8 was moved to another campus with their own admin. 8th graders could no longer play or practice till the conclusion of the school year. 5-8 has since moved back to the same campus. However, the 5-8 kept their own admin. They can’t legally practice during the spring anymore. School has to end for the year. More to that story but I’ll leave it at that...
